Have you ever caught yourself in front of the mirror talking really badly to yourself,
Being really mean to yourself?
Or maybe you've just come back from shopping and you forgot something and you berate yourself for being so stupid to forget something?
I'm sure most of us have done that and it's really not good for our soul.
Today I want to take you on a little exercise that will maybe help you to be kinder to yourself.
Hi,
I'm Sita.
I'm a meditation teacher,
A mindfulness and life coach and I also coach parents on how to teach their children money management.
And I'm really excited to have you here with me today.
So now I invite you to make yourself comfortable and cross your arms and legs.
Your spine is straight and your head and neck are tall.
I'd like you to take a deep breath in and out.
Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.
In and out.
In and out.
Another breath in and out.
I'd like to start this meditation by breathing love into our different body parts.
We so often love everybody else and we give and we spread love and kindness and we then forget ourselves.
We don't love ourselves as maybe we need it,
As our little child needs it.
So now I'd like you to breathe in love and breathe out negativity,
Criticism,
Judgment,
Anything that you might be doing to yourself to hurt yourself and your inner child.
So breathe in love into your chest.
Feel that love spreading in your chest,
Swirling around your heart and out.
Out with all the judgment and the criticism.
And then love into your arm.
All the way down to your fingertips of your right arm and out with all criticism and judgment.
Breathe love into your left arm all the way down,
Down to your fingertips.
And let go of judgment and criticism.
Breathe love into your belly,
Into your hips,
Into your glutes.
And let go of what you don't need.
Breathe love into your right leg,
All the way down past your knee,
Into your feet,
To the tip of your toes and out.
And love into your left leg,
All the way to the bottom and out.
Let go of all criticism.
And now I'd like you to breathe love into your head,
Into your shoulders,
Your neck,
And your head.
Feel how the love swirled around in your head.
It's happy light energy.
And when your head is all the way full,
Full to the brim,
I'd like you to imagine that that love flows out of the top of your head like a fountain and it flows down like liquid light down your body,
Covering your whole body with love.
Feel how that love protects you.
It's like a protective shield,
Making you feel safe,
Making you feel secure.
This is like a shield of love that protects you from outside negativity,
But it also protects you from your own negativity,
From your own criticism,
From your own harsh words or thoughts that you might be saying without even noticing how hurtful they are.
But it hurts your soul and your inner child.
We've let go of all that and we filled you,
Your whole body,
Your whole being with love and acceptance.
And then you've created this protective shield of love that protects you from anything that might hurt or harm you today.
Just imagine that shield glowing,
Glowing with love.
What color do you see?
Is it white?
Is it gold?
Is it a color?
Is it red?
Pink?
Just imagine this beautiful glowing shield around you.
Whatever happens to you today,
You are safe.
And when you're ready,
I'd like you to slowly come back to your surroundings again.
Feel where you are,
Hear where you are,
Maybe wiggle your toes,
Move your arms and whenever you're ready,
Slowly and mindfully open your eyes.
And know that you are safe and you're protected.
Have a wonderful day.
Namaste.
