In the spirit of the Radical Embrace, we start this meditation by welcoming what is here. We then prepare for the practice of pure, open awareness by grounding and opening to the space in which your body is. Firstly, you are invited to become aware of the sounds that are appearing and disappearing in your awareness. Next, we bring awareness to smells and tastes, to the visual field (you may choose to open your eyes for this or just notice what is available in the visual field if your eyes remain closed), and finally to the sensations of the physical body. With all of these, we are noticing the fleeting nature of what is present here. Lastly, we turn our awareness towards awareness itself and notice its qualities. This meditation has extended periods of explorative silence and, as such, it is best suited for regular/experienced meditators.
