This meditation will help you embody and cultivate a sense of compassion for wherever you are or whatever you are dealing with today and you can begin by lying in a comfortable position or taking a supportive restorative yoga posture maybe a supported fish pose with a bolster or a pillow vertical along the whole vertebrae and once you're comfortable allow your body to get even 50% more comfortable by softening and settling the bones muscles and joints of the body breathing in breathing out allowing the exhalation to really linger and lengthen as we begin this meditation practice we'll start with a quick body scan noticing the points of the body contacting either the floor or bed or chair that you are seated upon just starting at the back of the head noticing the neck the upper back the middle back low back and the hips bringing your awareness to the right knee the right heel of the foot bottom of the right foot all five toes of the right foot and bring your awareness to the left side the left knee the left heel of the foot and the bottom of the left foot and all five toes of the left foot scanning the whole back body and the whole front body the whole right side of the body and the whole left side of the body as you breathe in notice your body really starting to speak to you here bringing in a sense of relaxation and resourcing and as you exhale letting go and allowing yourself to be held in this moment in this experience and remind yourself that you can take space here to press pause to just be as you lay down flip your palms facing up and just visualize a little bowl about the size of the palm of the hand one in the right hand and one in the left hand and bring your awareness to the bowl in the right hand notice the right hand feel a little heavier now this bowl is for carrying and releasing all of the things that have been weighing you down take a moment to notice any thoughts colors people places and things that have been weighing on your heart here and visualize all of those things traveling down the right shoulder down through the right elbow and into the right hand as you breathe out really feel yourself letting go allowing those things that no longer need your attention in this moment to roll down and out into the bowl in your right hand notice any physical sensations or shifts in your breathing patterns occur when this happens and know that it's okay if there are shifts that happen sometimes that process of letting go creates space where there once was none but knowing that you have the capacity to resource yourself here in this moment helps give you that sense of agency and connection to your soul and what you need to now fill in that space with your tender gentle love as you let go of those last few things out through the right hand now bring your awareness to the left hand to the left hand bowl this bowl is filled with all of the things that help you feel full it could be people places practices songs your favorite foods pets memories dances anything at all whatever helps you feel full and resourced add it to the bowl in the left hand and as you notice these things feel that bowl in the left hand get heavier feel the back of the hand push a little more into the floor as the bowl fills up and as it fills up overflowing pouring into your left hand traveling up through the left elbow and shoulder into the channels that govern the heart space providing a beautiful exchange of energy in your heart filling you up with all of these things that help you feel full that help you feel like you breathe in breathe in that goodness now and exhale letting go of anything that needs to go now letting it be recycled out through the right fingertips and into that right hand bowl just stay with this visualization for a moment really bring your awareness to this heart space exchange happening as you breathe in bringing in those resources from the left side hand up through the arms and shoulders into the heart and exhaling breathing out through that right shoulder letting go of all of those things out through the right fingertips and into the palm of the hand in that right bowl breathing in fresh energy pouring in and breathing out recycling and allowing detachment to happen slowly unraveling from any stories or energetic weight on your heart and allow yourself to take a moment here as you nourish all the beautiful cells in your body to simply just feel a sense of spaciousness a sense of stillness and peace and just be here breathing in and breathing out using your breath as an anchor to the present moment maybe again bringing your awareness to your physical body noticing the points of contact between your body and the floor and just enjoy the sense of calm just being allowing yourself to be free of doing for just a moment and just be here and start to deepen that inhalation disconnecting from all thoughts and starting to bring yourself back as you make this transition back to the day-to-day work life maybe you open your eyes orienting yourself to this space around you notice the shapes colors and forms of your environment any sounds from your physical body the sounds in your physical environment maybe you notice the temperature on your skin and just start moving and stretching very gently here feel free to wiggle your toes and your fingers allowing your whole body to dance in this moment I'm just thanking your body for showing up to this practice allowing ourselves to press pause and be still can be a challenge sometimes but you did it I hope
