Allow this gentle and kindly meditation to perfume and bathe you in kindness and healing energies for a sense of calm, wellbeing, connection and freshness to once again go forward in a renewed and creative manner.

This is the invitation to yeah just enjoy some innate quality of care and kindness which something in us knows all about you know we have long histories of kindness and compassion and as humans we're totally wired for connection for kindness for compassion socially so we do have a lot of resources in us sometimes it may be a bit thin on the ground so to speak in the moment however if we create a space through the kindness meditation we will find it can invite itself forward more fully so note my language it's about invitation and not demand it's about body and not head it's about grounded and not so much about thinking so the invitation is to invite a warmth a care a sense of kindness kindly being warmly being gently being an invitation into a more forgiving space and place as it's unconditional it's not a reward it's an innate quality that you can bathe in which is absolutely free wherever or whoever we may find ourselves in ourselves whether it's easy times or challenging times and we always come from the grounded aware presence place so so we just pause just resting in the pause briefly and in the resting in this pause there's just a gentle sense of allowing and what we may notice of course is the thinking mind and associated feelings are there and we just say yes to them we say oh this is our first act of kindness we say yes you can be here too it's okay whatever your views or beliefs or stories you can be here we include you and just dropping down a little more inviting an inclusion of the sensing what you notice to be solid firm maybe subtle sensations of touch as well starting resting with and in the body sensing filling it with the kindly warm awareness with each in-breath and out-breath so the invitation for kindliness to perfume permeate fill this body can be here this is about attitude the attitude of care which is not in itself a feeling it's an attitude so resting in the intention taking confidence that we have and we can inspire intention the feelings will take care of themselves and with this intention maybe a softening in the body a kind softening a warm softening the shoulders can soften the jaw can soften some muscles can soften resting with the body sensing outwardly into this space around you it's a kindly space warm space that extends outwardly into the blue sky the warm sun the daffodils and the birds chirping offering their kindly connection just resting with all of this and each other we hold in kind awareness a familiar awareness that we've been cultivating something in us knows we're connected so in all of this sensing from your whole body on the ground there's something in you a mood let me just acknowledge and be kind to it by saying yes it's okay you're there and there'll be something here which you may say oh that's a kind part in me there's a kindly warm something in me it could be a particular place it could be in the middle of you or to one side it could be more neutral it could be more pleasurable we're just inviting the body to sense the richness of kindly being warmly being we're inviting it to emerge or perfume the body permeate the body there may be an image that can help like a flower in the sun the petals a beautiful color maybe there's a bee or a butterfly so or maybe it's like a deep lake which we might bathe in it's cool and clear and cleansing and we step out with a cotton sheet wrapped around us and sit down maybe under a tree in the shade and look out into the space sensing gratitude and care spaciousness so i'm inviting a sense of care and kindness warmth to flow through this body just resting with these invitations and just noticing how the body responds to these intentions into kindness into kind awareness a healing soft awareness and as we sit with these intentions and maybe feelings if you like or a sense of bringing to mind a good friend and we can see them or sense them and we offer this sense of kindness towards them it could be a light or just an energy whatever works for you as we direct it towards our friend we say oh may you be well and happy may you have joy and peace and ease so we offer it to them and we might see them light up or smile we might not we might not have an image we might just have a sense of them responding happily with gratitude you can say their name and may you be well and happy may you have peace and joy and ease may you be free and they can rest in these qualities and we can rest with them just enjoying the shared nature of kind awareness which is unconditional respectful and appreciative resting together with these qualities coming from your grounded sense of whole being entertaining kind and warm awareness as we begin now to just invite someone else in someone neutral that we don't know very well or at all we have a sense of them they too feel pain and pleasure they're like us and we're not different we just offer them care and kindness may they be well and happy we can imagine a light or energy or our intention affecting them they might just smile or nod acknowledging their receiving of this kindness may they be well and happy and peaceful and joyful or you might have your own words so may they be peaceful free easy connected have all the best things in life we can see them respond or sense them responding so we just rest with the shared sense of care and kindness manifesting if it wants to and at any given point you can just rest back into the whole of your body just allowing whatever's here to be here with an attitude of care and kindness sensing our friend the neutral person as we pause briefly and now we're just going to invite a less favored person someone we've had a small disconnect with argument just making space for them now they might want to be a bit further away just sensing what feelings come up for you immediately just giving room for those feelings to be accepted first of all not with a judgment something's hurt or something's irritated or something's like that just let them be received into this kindly spacious place here and now including again this less favored person they too are like us they just want to be happy and we can invite them to be happy and well maybe from the universe not directly from us so may they be happy and well may they have the best things in life and we might see the universe offering these qualities in whatever imaginative way works for you so we're more spatiously related to them and if you like you can also offer more directly if you want but you don't have to but we just intend them to be happy in their own way may they be well and happy may they have the best things in life so just resting with this intention with this less favored person also present here somewhere is the friend and the neutral person in the background somewhere so kind of sharing this mutuality of care kindness permeating radiating kindness and care as we begin to extend this loving kindness towards all of us here as well in this group sending kindness we're also receiving it at this point just being open transparent to the intention of kindness as it radiates further out to all beings may all beings be well and happy joyful peaceful all humans all animals all plants from the microbe to the blue whale so maybe seeing a light or an energy just an imaginative connection with all beings permeating perfuming all beings with this sense of wellness and peace wholeness that extends out into the universe so it's inclusive open and restful resting with all of this in this kindly space this warm caring openness yet grounded with our feet on the ground resting with all of this
