The weather can impact our health and well-being tremendously. Finding light and warmth on those cold and gloomy days can be challenging. This meditation takes you through a visualization practice to help you find just that. You can do this sitting anywhere on the ground. You can also sit by a fire or candle, on a blanket, in your coziest clothes, with a cup of tea. However, if you are not able to do so, this meditation will guide you through a complete sensory experience.

The impact that the weather has on us can be tremendous.

Receiving sunlight is extremely important to our overall health and well-being.

But for many of us,

We live in parts of the world where there can be long months of cold,

Dark and gloomy days.

So let's bring some light and warmth back into our lives.

Sitting on the ground with your feet crossed,

Hands on your thighs and palms facing up,

Start to focus on your breath.

Noticing the air going in and out.

Notice the coolness of the air coming in and the warmth of the air coming out.

Now start to visualize yourself.

You are sitting by a warm fire in your coziest sweater and socks on a thick woolen blanket with your favorite cup of tea next to you.

You feel the softness of the blanket below you and all the points on your body that are in contact with the blanket.

It feels like a soft cushiony pillow or like you are sitting on a cloud.

You notice the sweater and socks against your body.

The sweater is not heavy.

It feels light and comfortable yet cozy.

The socks are fuzzy and go all the way above your ankles,

Wrapping your entire feet in the warmth.

You hear the crackling of the fire as you notice muffled sounds of your loved ones talking and laughing in the background.

You smell your tea with each breath in and out.

Slowly you pick up your cup of tea and take a sip,

Tasting all the flavors flowing down your throat.

Slowly the smell and taste of your tea start to blend in with the smell of the wood burning in the fire.

You start to feel the warmth of the fire on your feet as it moves up your ankles and onto your legs.

Slowly it moves up your knees,

Onto your thighs and surrounds your hips.

The warmth continues up your belly and onto your lower back,

Your chest and upper back.

It then starts to move down your shoulders,

Down your arms and all the way to the tips of your fingers.

Slowly the warmth starts to move up your neck and onto your jaw,

Moving up your cheeks and over your mouth,

Over your ears and over your nose,

Moving up your eyes and onto your forehead,

Until it finally reaches the top of your head,

Engulfing you completely in the warmth.

You continue to sit there for a few moments,

Surrounded by the smells,

Sights,

Tastes and sounds of all that brings you light,

Warmth and joy.

And as you sit there you continue to notice everything around you,

Taking in everything.

Gently you come back to your breath,

Noticing the in and out.

Slowly you start to bring movement back to your body,

Wiggling your fingers and toes,

Drawing circles with your wrists,

Opening your eyes and feeling a soft smile across your face.
