Belly breathing is a great technique that helps with relaxation, lowering your heart rate, and reducing stress. Focus on the belly as it expands (rises) with each inhale and contracts (falls) with each exhale. Placing your hand on your belly to connect with the movements can be beneficial.

Today we'll be doing some belly breathing.

Belly breathing is great for relaxation,

Reducing your heart rate and helping lower stress levels.

So gently find a seat on the ground with your feet crossed or on a chair with your hands on your thighs palms facing up.

Bring your eyes to a close.

Now start to notice the natural breath of the air coming in and out of you.

Notice the coolness of the air coming in and the warmth of the air coming out.

Simply follow your breath,

There is no need to make any changes.

Now place your hand on your belly and start to notice the movement of your belly as you breathe in and out.

As you breathe in your belly should expand and as you breathe out your belly should contract.

Breathing in your belly expands and breathing out your belly contracts.

Continue to notice the coolness of the air coming in and the warmth of the air coming out as you continue to also notice the movement of your belly.

The expansion with the breaths in and the contraction with the breaths out.

Feel how your entire body responds to this in and out to this expansion and contraction.

Try to make your breaths deeper,

Noticing your belly expand further out as you breathe in and contract further in as you breathe out.

Keep focusing on the coolness of the air you breathe in and the warmth of the air you breathe out.

Notice how your belly expands and contracts and try to take in as deep breaths as you can and breathe out as much as you can releasing all air from your lungs and as you do notice the big expansions of your belly and the big contractions of your belly.

Now gently remove your hand from your belly and place it on your heart space giving thanks for this little practice that has brought some stillness and presence.

Take a deep breath in,

Breathe everything out and we bow.

Namaste.
