Imagining your power helps your subconscious mind feel safer, more protected with wise boundaries, and faithful that you can better defend yourself in the future. If you are reliving an old traumatic memory over and over in your mind and body, you might want to consider using your imagination and the psychological principles of Memory Reconsolidation to envision having stronger personal agency and greater spiritual power. Whenever a traumatic memory arises for healing, you can choose to juxtapose stronger mental states and greater spiritual power into that memory, and repeat this empowering imaginative process until the emotional charge is gone. Please note that this meditation exercise will be best if you have already gone through the safety and stabilization stage of healing trauma, and are able to reasonably regulate your nervous system enough to withstand revisiting traumatic memories.
