If the holidays make you cringe due to grief, loneliness, trauma or family drama this meditation is your reset button! Hello,

My friends,

The holidays are upon us.

Some of us look forward to the holidays like,

Wow,

I finally get to spend time with extended family.

We get to light up the Christmas tree,

Roast a turkey,

Sip hot cocoa by the fire.

But for many of us,

Possibly even the majority of us,

The holidays can be very emotionally triggering.

In fact,

I was speaking with a coaching client the other day that mentioned,

I wish we could just fast forward past the end of November all the way through December and just cut right to January.

And I understand that feeling.

There was definitely a time in my late 20s,

Early 30s,

Even into my mid 30s where I really didn't look forward to Christmas anymore the way I did when I was a kid.

There was a lot of pain.

I was unresolved.

But now I have done some work around that and I've done a lot of forgiveness and release of the past and make space to embrace the present and create new traditions and new memories.

And now I absolutely love Thanksgiving and I love Christmas again the way I did when I was a kid.

I'd like to offer this meditation to help you do the same,

Perhaps release some of the past.

Sometimes the past was happy.

We had a loved one that we enjoyed spending time with,

But maybe they've crossed over and are no longer physically here.

That can be very triggering,

Especially if it's a first holiday season without them physically present.

Or maybe the holidays have been painful in the past,

Fraught with family drama or just challenging family members that you'd rather avoid and not see,

But you feel obliged to spend time with them.

Whatever the trigger is for you,

Let's allow this time and meditation to bring some beautiful relief,

Again,

Releasing the past and releasing what was,

Whether it was good or bad,

So that we can open up heart and mind to beautiful new possibilities and to even create some amazing new possibilities and experiences this holiday season.

I love to work with tools such as aromatherapy and crystals.

So I want to give you a few options if you like stones and crystals.

Probably the best one to work with today would be selenite.

It is a very cleansing stone,

Helps us to cleanse and release and let go.

If you have selenite,

Pause this and go and grab it.

If you don't have selenite or don't know what that is,

I invite you to grab some table salt,

Sea salt,

Any kind of edible salt from your kitchen.

All we need is really just a few grains of it.

Then I'd like to work with some aromatherapy.

I chose some cleansing essential oil options for you.

Have it great.

If not,

You can still totally do this exercise.

Geranium is my first choice because it can help to shift our view of past memories.

It can help shift out all the pain and negativity associated with past experiences.

It's not erasing memories,

But it's shifting our perspective on memories.

That's something geranium is excellent at.

If you don't have geranium,

I want to give you a few other options.

Lemon essential oil or you could even work with rosemary essential oil.

Both very cleansing.

All three of these have cleansing properties.

The only caveat is if you are working with lemon or rosemary,

Both of those should be diluted equal part of the essential oil to equal part of a carrier oil such as jojoba oil,

Fractionated coconut oil,

Nothing else,

A little bit of olive oil from the kitchen.

Give you a moment to gather any materials you'd like to work with.

And then let's go ahead and dive into our meditation.

If you are applying essential oils,

Go ahead and do so.

If you aren't working with any,

Don't worry about it.

You can join us for the breathing in just a second.

You are working with essential oil and you do need to dilute anything like rosemary or lemon geranium.

No need to dilute.

Just put a drop on into our left palm.

And for those of you that are very sensitive to energy,

When we swirl our palm clockwise three times and it has essential oil in it,

That is said to activate the essential oil at the subtle and quantum level.

Then I want to invite you to reach up under your clothing and just gently,

Lovingly,

Kindly massage the heart.

And if you're not working with essential oil,

Just gently,

Lovingly massage over your heart.

Beautiful.

If you have aromatherapy,

Rub your palms together.

Build up a little heat and friction.

And if you don't have aromatherapy,

Join me with this anyway.

Once you've built up a little heat and friction,

Make what I call a scent tent.

So you're going to make a cup,

Open face palms,

Cup and bring those palms over the face,

Leaving a nice gap so that you can breathe.

But also allowing yourself to receive the essential oils and all the magic they deliver to us.

First,

I invite you to close your eyes,

Empty all the air from your lungs.

We're going to breathe in for a count of three through the nose and exhale through the mouth for six.

Go ahead and let's begin inhaling for three.

One,

Two,

Three.

Hold.

Exhale through the mouth to release for six.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six.

Breathe in to the heart and lungs for three.

One,

Two,

Three.

Big breath out through the mouth.

Six.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six.

Breathe in through the nose to the heart and lungs again.

One,

Two,

Three.

Exhale through the mouth for six.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five and six.

This time,

Breathe in to the thoughts,

Emotions,

Beliefs.

One,

Two,

Three.

Exhale through the mouth,

Cleansing breath out for six.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six.

Breathe into your energy body,

Spine chakras,

Meridians,

Ara.

One,

Two,

Three.

Exhale through the mouth to cleanse for six.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six.

Your eyes still closed,

I invite you to tune into a painful memory or something about the holidays that feels difficult or challenging for you.

Could be the fact that you're missing someone who's no longer physically present or it could just be a past memory that has really put a damper on the holidays for you.

If you happen to have selenite,

I want to invite you to hold selenite in your right hand.

If you do not have selenite and you do have some table salt,

I invite you to sprinkle a few grains of table salt into your right palm and just gently close your palm.

We're going to hold that cleansing salt in the right hand.

We'll be doing a little release work,

Letting go of some pain and challenge into the salt or selenite.

I want you to think about that painful memory or that sadness or grief over the person that is no longer physically present.

When you think about that memory or that person,

Where do you feel that energy within your body?

Just scan your body and observe where is that energy located in your body or maybe even stuck in your body.

I invite you for the next few breaths,

You're going to breathe into that part of the body where you feel that emotional energy or memory and on your exhales,

You're just going to imagine that you are sending that energy into the salt or selenite.

Deep inhale into the memory,

The pain,

The loss,

Whatever it is.

Deep exhale,

Sending that energy into the cleansing salt or selenite.

Deep breath into the memory.

Big exhale,

Sending that energy into the salt or selenite.

One more time,

Deep breath in.

Cleansing breath,

Releasing what we need to release into the salt or selenite.

Gently lay your selenite down,

If you work with salt,

You have a place to gently lay it.

We're going to throw that away later.

I just invite you to come back to a meditative state with your eyes closed.

When we release what was,

Whether it was positive or negative,

We make space for the beauty of what is and what can be.

I invite you to bring your awareness into your mind's eye.

The center of the brain is the pineal gland where our soul speaks to us,

That higher wisdom that's not influenced by ego or emotion.

I'm going to ask your soul to speak to your conscious mind in a way you can easily understand.

We're going to start with a question of your soul.

Is there anything that you can do so that you can have a free clean slate,

A blank canvas to paint a beautiful holiday season this year?

For instance,

Is there anyone,

Including yourself,

That you need to forgive?

Or even someone who is no longer physically present?

Anyone you feel guided to forgive?

Is there anything you're holding onto that it's time to let go of?

Are there any protective walls you have built around yourself that no longer serve you,

But maybe even hinder you from having some beautiful experiences?

If there's anything you're aware of now that you want to release,

Let go of,

I simply invite you to pick up your selenite.

Or if you'd like,

Rake those grains of salt back into your right palm and close your palm,

Holding those grains of salt.

We're going to breathe in to whatever we need to let go of.

Exhale,

Send that energy into the salt or selenite.

One more time,

Deep breath in to what we are ready to release and let go of.

Exhale,

Send that energy into the salt or selenite.

Once again,

You can place your selenite or salt down.

I invite you to close your eyes again.

Now I'm going to ask your soul to guide you.

Is there anything tangible you can do to release or let go?

Anything you should say to someone?

Anything you should journal about to clear the slate completely?

It's beautiful to do the inner work,

But sometimes there is an outer work element that needs to be done as well.

Just take a moment to feel.

If there's anything externally you can do that will help.

Now let's tune into the wisdom of your soul again on another possibility.

I'm going to ask that beautiful,

Creative,

Wise,

Guiding wisdom of your soul to paint a picture in your mind's eye,

Either through imagery or simply feelings and ideas.

Of what a beautiful,

Fulfilling,

Happy,

Connected,

Richly rewarding holiday season could look like,

Could feel like for you.

Just take a moment to breathe into that feeling.

Allow that feeling.

Awareness.

Open your heart and mind to the possibility.

If someone you love dearly has crossed over and is no longer physically present in this moment,

I'm going to ask that you can feel the joy that they have on the other side for you opening to new possibilities,

For you processing and releasing grief.

If there's someone you need to forgive,

Someone you need to set a healthier boundary with,

I'm going to invite you to feel what it feels like on the other side of doing that.

Beautiful.

Now I'm going to bring your awareness into your heart center.

When we let those overly protective walls down,

We open to give love to others and actually receive love from others as well.

In this moment,

I'm going to ask that you visualize or feel a green,

Emerald green light in the center of your heart.

Take a deep breath into that light.

And as you exhale,

Imagine that that light is expanding outward.

In hell again,

Breathe into that light,

Feel it glow even brighter with your breath.

As you exhale,

Imagine that green light from your heart reaching out far beyond you to connect with the green lights of the hearts of other people.

Breathe in again,

Even more green light,

Feeling that beautiful energy of connected heart energies.

And as you exhale,

The energy field of your heart is so connected beautifully,

Wonderfully with healthy boundaries to the green heart lights of so many other wonderful people who want to love you,

Treat you with honor,

Respect and dignity.

Whatever was the past,

Whether it was happy,

Whether it was traumatic.

This holiday season,

You are a co-creator with the universe and you have every resource available to you to help you create a truly happy,

New,

Different kind of experience.

This meditation has helped you to open to the beautiful possibilities that I can be of service to you.
