So coming to lie down,
Either on the floor or on your bed,
Allowing the legs to be long or they can be supported by a bolster or a pillow.
Hands resting down by your sides,
Just slightly away from the body,
And the head resting comfortably and it can be supported by a blanket or a cushion or pillow.
Just making any movement you need to to get yourself comfortable here.
And with your eyes open,
Just taking a moment to just look around the space that you're in.
Just taking in the colours,
The textures of the space.
And when you feel ready,
You can either close your eyes or soften your gaze and direct your gaze towards your belly.
And taking a moment to just notice all of the points of contact between your body and the ground.
You may like to begin with the heels of the feet and just noticing them resting on the surface beneath you.
And then slowly move your awareness up into the calves,
Into the back of the knees,
Noticing the thighs,
The buttocks.
Awareness through the lower back into the back of the body and noticing the whole of the back body resting on the surface beneath you.
Moving your awareness into the shoulders,
Just notice how they're resting here.
Maybe they feel as though they're curled away from the floor.
Or maybe one shoulder is a little more lifted than the other.
Just noticing,
No judgement.
Noticing the backs of your arms and hands resting on the surface.
And moving your awareness through the back of the neck,
Up into the back of the head.
And notice the back of the head resting,
Does it feel as though it's resting evenly?
Or does it feel as though it's listing to one side?
Or does it feel as though your chin or your nose is lifted towards the sky a little?
Just bringing awareness into how your head is resting here and then slowly opening up the lens of awareness to take in the whole of the body as it rests here.
You may like to just slowly scan your awareness from the crown of your head all the way back down through your body and noticing if there are any parts of you that do feel a little tight or resistant.
And just resting your awareness in those parts of your body and inviting them to soften and relax.
As you slowly move your awareness back down the body and all the way back down into your feet.
Then become aware of your body breathing.
Where do you notice the breath most easily in your body?
Rest your awareness there.
Notice what the breath feels like.
Not changing or trying to improve the breath.
Or make anything happen.
But just simply being aware of the breath.
Moving it in and out of your body.
And becoming aware of the pauses in the breath.
At the top of the inhale and at the bottom of the exhale.
And with each round of the breath it begins to relax more and more into a really lovely natural cadence.
As you allow just all of the noise and haste of the world to fall away.
As you welcome yourself back home into your body.
There's a really gentle smile in your eyes and lips as though you're smiling to yourself.
You might even like to whisper a little thank you to yourself for making this time for you.
This time for you.
And then moving your awareness back into the back of the body.
Imagine that there are roots moving from the back of your body.
And they're moving down through the surface that is supporting you.
And perhaps moving through the foundations of the building that you're in.
Moving through the crust of the earth.
And slowly moving downwards through the soil,
Through the rocks.
Perhaps there's an underground stream.
And allowing those roots to move deeper and deeper into the earth.
And connecting into the qualities of the earth.
This deep,
Dark,
Rich,
Supportive space of the earth.
Really allowing your body to relax into these beautifully nourishing energies of the earth.
There's a sense as though the back of your body is opening to receive these nurturing qualities of the earth.
There's nothing for you to do other than just to rest back and receive.
And imagining as you breathe in,
That you're breathing down those roots and into the earth.
Tapping into the energies,
The qualities of the earth.
And as you breathe out,
There's a sense as though the earth is opening to receive.
Is breathing into you.
Filling your body with this nurturing,
Stabilizing,
Supportive energy of the earth.
Breathing into the earth.
And as you breathe out,
The earth breathing into you.
Your body softening to receive.
I'm just staying with this visualization for the next several rounds of your breath.
There may be a color associated there may be a color associated with this earth energy.
Whatever color comes to mind for you,
Just imagine that color just filling the whole of your body.
Really cultivating a sense of groundedness,
Inner support,
Steadiness.
Helping you remember that you are always supported.
You're not doing life alone.
And whenever you get tangled up in the thoughts,
The stories,
Behaviors that do not serve you and keep you up in your head,
You can always reconnect back to this earth energy.
Connect back to this earth energy.
And bring yourself back to earth.
To remember these qualities that you are.
Of steadiness,
Quiet,
Stillness.
And that the earth is always there to support you unconditionally.
Providing you with everything that you need.
To navigate life with grace,
With ease,
And love.
Just allowing your body to relax back even more.
Softening to receive just that little bit more.
Just that little bit more.
Allowing your face to soften into a really gentle little smile as though you're smiling to yourself.
You might even like to whisper a yes,
Saying yes to you.
To the grounded,
Supported,
Peaceful you.
Then allowing the breath to begin to deepen.
You may like to allow the next exhalation to be released out through your mouth.
You should let out a sigh or a groan,
Whatever it is you feel you need to release.
It does not serve you anymore.
And slowly bringing movement back into your fingers and toes.
And as you begin to bring movement into other parts of the body,
Really maintaining this sense of connection to this grounded earth energy.
And taking it with you as you move into the rest of your day.
