Welcome to your meditation.
In this practice,
You will get to lean into the feelings you may be experiencing when you think about and feel change coming on.
The intention of this meditation is to invite you to awaken to the flow and the deep appreciation that can come when you take a break from resisting change and instead relax into it.
Do take the time that you need to get really comfortable.
If you're lying down,
Support the back of your head and neck with a blanket.
Having your forehead just slightly higher than your chin will help to quiet your mind.
You may even want to roll a blanket to support the back of your knees.
This will help to release any tension in your low back.
So whatever seat you've chosen,
Take a deep breath in and out and allow yourself to get really comfortable.
If you haven't already,
Close down your eyes.
Bring your awareness to your breath.
Without changing your breath in any way,
Simply notice it.
Where do you feel your breath?
Do you feel it in your nose or more in your throat?
Maybe you feel it in your chest or your belly.
Simply notice where your breath is and we'll start to see how the quality of your breath changes in your meditation.
So if you place one hand to your heart center,
The other hand on your diaphragm just below the belly button.
Now start to deepen your breath.
Notice your breath changing as you deepen it.
Fill the belly up as you inhale.
And then watch the breath release as you exhale.
You might start to notice the natural wave of your breath inhaling and exhaling,
Allowing your breath to help bring a wave of relaxation to your body.
You might choose to breathe a few more times inhaling through the nose and then exhaling through your mouth.
When you feel really settled and starting to relax,
You can just breathe comfortably through your nose.
Letting every muscle in your body release,
Relax and surrender.
Let your heart continue to expand and rise up with each inhale breath.
Let your body release and relax with each exhale breath.
Let your hands now rest comfortably to your sides or in your lap.
Your palms can face up as a symbolic gesture to be open and to receive the changes this meditation experience can provide you.
Feel the ground underneath you.
Can you allow the ground,
The earth,
To hold you up?
Can you notice that even as you let go and lean into relaxation,
The earth still supports you?
When we experience changes in our lives,
We can feel very unsettled.
It can make us feel like we're floating,
Like we aren't supported.
This practice of leaning into and relaxing through change rather than resisting,
Fighting it or wishing it could be like it used to be,
It allows you to remember that even when you feel groundlessness,
When you feel unsettled,
When you feel scared,
You are still supported.
Even when you feel uncomfortable with change,
You aren't completely free-falling.
The earth has your back.
Your intuition,
Your inner knowing is here to guide you through change.
The universe wants what's best for you in this moment.
Can you remember a time when you went through change?
It could have been moving to a new community or starting a new job or getting back into an exercise routine,
Traveling to a new country,
Becoming a parent,
Taking a whole new life direction,
Aging.
Maybe these are changes you're going through right now in your life.
Do you remember the thoughts,
The feelings and the actions that you took or didn't take in the midst of change?
Maybe you can remember the contemplation you went through while experiencing change.
Maybe you can look back on your life and see how you were before you walked through that new door,
Before you tried that new job,
Before you moved,
Before you accepted this stage in your life.
How did you feel or how do you feel now when you think about change?
Stay connected with your breath here.
Let your inhale and your exhale allow you to lean into those feelings.
Allow you to relax as you reflect on change.
Maybe you felt or feel nervous,
Scared,
Stuck,
Confused,
Lost,
Vulnerable,
Excited,
Sad,
Anxious,
Open,
Happy,
Ready.
Whatever you feel or have felt about change,
It's all where you need to be.
But try to remember now a feeling you've had after you've gone through that change,
After you moved or started something new,
After you took a healthy risk,
After you found the flow of a new routine,
After you went through transformation and then you felt grounded,
At ease and comfortable with the change you went through.
Maybe you can now see how good that change was for you,
How you learned and grew as a person,
How you discovered unconditional love for yourself and others and how those past changes have led you to this moment.
Resisting uncertainty and change causes suffering.
When we remember that everything changes,
We can learn to relax into change.
When we remember that change is a part of being a human in this lifetime,
That you are changing right now,
Your body,
Your mind this moment,
That it's always changing,
We can lean into it and even learn how to embrace the change happening in our lives.
Can you practice accepting this moment?
Can you even recognize feelings of appreciation towards the change you've experienced in life so far?
Take this moment to practice seeing everything happening in your life as an opportunity to awaken.
Take the next few minutes of this quiet meditation to allow your mind and body to relax into the feelings of change.
Stay open.
Notice any feelings that arise.
Try not to label the change you're experiencing as good or bad.
It just is.
Feel supported in this moment.
And without any expectations,
Simply allow yourself to be here now,
To be here with your changing breath,
With the inhale,
With the exhale,
And with the pause between the breaths.
Let your changing breath guide you and I will let you know when it's time to return.
Let you know when it's time to go back.
You You You You You You You You You You You Start to bring awareness now back to your body as you take a nice deep inhale breath And a nice slow exhale You might even gently wiggle your fingers and toes maybe even Softly smile as you notice how you feel in this moment Being in this moment will help you to see the change you are experiencing more clearly You will continue to awaken to your true self the one that accepts Embraces and appreciates change Because your true self knows This is the path to freedom I hope the practice of pondering and reflecting on change helps you move away from resisting it to a more relaxed State that welcomes change into your life Be gentle with yourself as you experience change Take good care of yourself now and always And always namaste You You You You
