From Champignyatta,

I'm Colleen Thomas.

This is Daily Magic for Peace.

Today we will make a personal commitment to nonviolence.

Welcome to the circle.

What I'd love for you to grab today is something representative of a rainbow.

This could be a photograph you took of a rainbow.

It could be something really colorful you have around the house or something that actually has a rainbow on it.

And of course,

You can always imagine a rainbow.

I welcome you here.

I am so glad you're in circle with us today.

I invite you to settle in and take your seat.

The first thing I would love to do with you today is to just bring a little calm and centering to our nervous systems through experimenting with a little bit of touch.

So if you're in a place where it would be comfortable for you to maybe put a hand on your arm or bring your hands together,

Someplace where you can have a felt sense of skin on skin,

If possible,

And just see how that feels with some intentionality and consciousness.

And when I do this,

It's much more simple if I touch my own arm than if somebody else was touching my arm because this way I don't have to worry about any kind of communication or,

You know,

Wondering what's going on with the other person.

It's just me.

And I know that I'm just experiencing touch right now.

So I invite you to just see what that feels like when you drop in and you notice,

Just noticing that touch.

And when you're ready,

I invite you to take a breath.

And I invite you to become aware now of your bubble space.

We talk about this quite often,

The bubble space,

Which is the aura,

Which is your personal space,

This space right around you.

This it's basically your energy body.

We have our physical bodies and then there are several layers of energy body around us.

Sometimes we can pick up energy from other things.

We can pick up other people's worries or fears or just their energy in our space and regularly cleansing out our bubble space,

Our aura,

Our energy body can help us just feel more whole,

More alert and clean and clear and motivated by our own thoughts and desires instead of something we may be picked up from somewhere.

So I invite you to check out your bubble space and move anything out you might not need.

You can move it down through a grounding cord.

You can just clear it out and make sure your bubble space has a nice edge to it.

It's a nice shape.

It feels good to you.

So today our focus is making a personal commitment to nonviolence.

I asked you to grab something with a rainbow symbol because I was trying to think of what's a good symbol for nonviolence for peace that isn't super hokey or controversial or tied to a specific event.

And the best one I could find was a rainbow.

And I feel like this ties nicely into our work together because we work with the chakra so much.

So a rainbow can mean two things to this circle.

So as we sit here together in circle today with our rainbow symbols,

I would first like to ask you to take a moment to reflect on nonviolence in your life.

How has nonviolence been a part of your philosophy or your life so far?

Have you been an anti-war protester?

Have you protested police brutality?

Have you been a conscientious objector to conflict?

Have you practiced nonviolent communication?

Just reflecting on these things might help you figure out where you are on the road to making a personal commitment to nonviolence.

Have you already done that?

Is that kind of just how you are in general?

Or would you like to make an official commitment in some way to nonviolence?

So wherever you are in the spectrum of making a personal commitment to nonviolence,

Grab your rainbow symbol and just behold it.

Behold this symbol of peace.

This is the thing we really,

Really want to see in Ukraine right now.

We want to see an end to the fighting.

We want to see the end of Russian aggression.

We want to see people who've been driven from their homeland being able to return.

We want everybody to be treated fairly.

We especially want people of color and people who are queer or non-binary or non-traditional in any way to be treated just as fairly as anybody else during this conflict.

We want peace.

We want equality.

We want equity.

These ideas make up our rainbow.

Our rainbow is peace and justice and equity.

And I'd like to invite you to place a hand on your heart.

This concept of peace,

This concept of equity,

This concept of justice,

Noticing it in your heart.

How does it feel to sit with these concepts?

Feeling in your heart,

What would it feel like to make a commitment to nonviolence,

A commitment to peace and equity and justice?

What would that feel like in your heart?

And seeing,

Is there a seed there?

Is there a little seed that we could plant today or that's been planted,

You know,

20 years ago that's just,

We're still observing it growing today,

Growing into a mighty tree.

Is there anything you would like to do to make it more official?

I would love for you to continue to reflect on this question after today's circle.

Where are you in relationship to peace?

Are you ready to make a personal commitment to nonviolence?

And if so,

What would that look like?

What would that look like?

May it be so.

Thank you so much for being with us today.

Your presence,

Your energy and your heart make all the difference in healing our world.

Remember to breathe today,

Breathe and expand.

And I hope you join us again next time.

Please consider inviting a friend.
