Hi,
This is Sharon here to share a little bit about what Qigong is and some traditional Chinese medicine principles.
So Qi means energy,
Gong means work or movement,
A practice in China thousands of years old.
The four tenets of Qigong are mindfulness,
Meditation,
Gentle movement,
And self-massage.
It is the type of practice that is accessible to anybody.
You can do it seated,
Laying down,
Or standing.
It grounds your nervous system.
It helps you to become present in your body.
It heals your organs and your mind.
So we will start with the concept of vertical alignment.
So you visualize,
You can close your eyes and breathe,
Inhale and exhale,
A column of light that is rooted deep in the core of the earth,
Mother earth,
This beautiful feminine energy.
She is unconditional love,
Acceptance,
And validation of who we are in this moment in time.
A column of light from her rising ever so softly from the top of the earth,
Then through our body at the tailbone.
With a gentle squeeze,
We bring this column of light into our lower dantian.
The heart below the horizon.
Beautiful column of light radiating beautiful qi,
Energy,
To all those organs in our lower dantian.
We have the liver and the gallbladder,
Which is an organ pair,
On the right.
We have the stomach and spleen,
Which is an organ pair,
On the left.
We have the bladder,
Which is in the front,
And the kidneys,
Which is in the back,
Which is another organ pair.
We have the intestines,
Which are paired to the lungs,
And then we have the small intestine,
Which is paired to the fire of the heart.
Lots of wonderful healing can happen just in your belly alone.
And this column of light rises with your breath.
So gently inhale and exhale,
Visualizing a column of light radiating beautiful,
Loving energy from Mother Earth herself into your body,
Sending love anywhere that needs a little extra attention.
The energy in this column of light rises with a smile on your face,
With your breath to your heart center,
Where your heart and your lungs live,
And your thymus gland,
Which is responsible for immunity cells.
Beautiful heart center.
The column of light rises to your third eye.
It's called the upper dantian.
Between your eyes,
Seeing all of life right in front of you,
Your creative center,
Helping your brain heal.
Beautiful magic.
The energy rises through your brain to the crown,
That beautiful crown.
In traditional Chinese medicine,
That's called the Bai Wei point.
We have many acupuncture points on the crown or the top of the skull.
The energy leaves the crown and goes to a soul star in the sky and then rises to the beautiful sun,
That beautiful warming sun that showers down love and warmth,
Down a rainbow of colors to both sides of our body,
Down into Mother Earth,
Healing her so that her wise self can heal us.
Beautiful Mother Earth.
The energy then goes back into our feet,
Back into our body,
Rising to the top of our body,
Down our arms and out our hands,
Where there is a beautiful and powerful heart point called the La Gong point,
Which you make an energy ball at your lower dantian,
That belly,
That heart below the horizon.
That's called vertical alignment.
We are so capable of connecting to the earth and the heavens.
We are so capable of healing our own body.
We are so capable of tapping into our breath.
So I hope this helps you understand Qigong and traditional Chinese medicine.
I will be teaching more.
Thank you and have an amazing day.
