Hi,
This is Sharon and I'm here to teach you some traditional Chinese medicine principles.
We start with the heart.
The heart is the element of fire.
The time of the year is summer and the emotion is joy and the color is red.
So we notice a red circle around our heart,
Softening our heart.
Inside the center of that circle is a little candle with a little fire softening our heart so the blood can function better and pump to all of our organs.
And then it moves on to our lungs,
Breathing in through the nose and gently out through the mouth.
And now I want you to notice your feet on beautiful Mother Earth,
The connection with our souls to the earth.
So our feet have a soul and we have a soul.
And from that soul we feel rooted,
Grounded into Mother Earth like we are a tree solidly planted on the earth or a beautiful lotus flower.
Feel your feet sinking into nutrient-rich mud,
Grounding you,
Feeling held at the bottoms of your feet,
Solidly planted.
And I invite you to sort of wiggle your toes,
Feel your arch going deep,
Feel your heel going deep.
And from the center of the ball of the foot on each foot is a powerful acupuncture point called kidney wand or bubbling spring.
A portal opens in that acupuncture point on each foot and we visualize light rooting us into the earth as our feet are sinking,
Grounding us.
The light travels,
Being drawn to a central light representing Mother Earth,
This feminine connection at our souls.
She has our back,
This wise and ancient symbol of growth,
Of fertility,
Of connection,
Of rebirth,
Renewal.
She draws our energy into this ball of light.
She restores our energy.
She holds our energy.
She swaddles our energy like a mother would nurture a baby,
Holding us there,
Keeping us safe,
Validating us in this moment in time.
Again,
She has our back.
So in the crazy world that we live in,
Having a connection,
Rooting yourself to the earth is a way to stay grounded when the challenges come because we all have challenges.
She has our back,
This beautiful light at the center of the earth.
She also has a heartbeat,
Just like our heartbeat.
She has a little fire,
A candle,
Warming the earth,
Warming your energy there at the center of the earth,
Breathing in through your nose softly,
Out through your mouth with a gentle smile on your face.
She sends up your two stalks of energy.
So in traditional Chinese medicine,
Qi means energy.
She sends up the qi all the way through all the layers.
So many layers.
There's water,
There's rock,
There's lava.
Wisdom is in the earth,
Thousands and millions of years old,
Holding us,
Rooting us,
Going back through that portal,
Kidney one point,
Bubbling spring at the center of the ball of the foot,
On each foot.
And just to give you a little understanding of kidney energy,
Kidneys are the essence of life.
So we want to honor our kidneys and we want to honor our kidney meridian.
It helps us to keep fear down.
It helps us to feel more solid in our body.
Our organs are very wise,
Breathing in and breathing out ever so softly.
So the energy rises through our feet,
Through our legs and into our body.
Our organs at the lower dantian,
Which is the belly space,
Those wise organs where the kidneys live,
Warming all those organs,
Softening them with our own energy that is backing us up from Mother Earth.
The energy then rises back to the heart space.
Beautiful heart energy.
So heart in traditional Chinese medicine is the summertime,
Is the color red,
Is the emotion of joy.
We visualize a red circle around our entire heart region,
Softening the edges,
Holding space to feel whatever you're feeling today.
It's okay to feel emotions.
Qigong and traditional Chinese medicine allow you space in all of your organs to feel.
Heart is joy,
But any emotion that is there,
We make a little room inside that circle for that emotion to just be.
No judgment,
Honoring that,
Giving a little room for that feeling or emotion to just be there for today.
Making a little space,
A little room.
You can even put that emotion in a box,
Put it on a shelf and say,
You know what?
I will deal with your emotion at a different time,
But this moment in time,
I just want to heal.
I want to breathe.
I want to belong.
I want to care.
I want to engage all my healing abilities.
Breathing in through the nose,
Softly,
And out through the mouth,
Very softly,
Like you're releasing air from a balloon.
That beautiful red of the summertime radiates to the lungs.
Now our lungs expand and contract with our breath,
With that gentle smile on our face.
The lungs are like two lobes,
Almost like two balloons.
So when you inhale,
The balloons expand,
And when you exhale,
The balloons contract.
The time of year that the lungs are connected to is the fall,
And the color is sort of white or gray,
And the emotion is grief.
So sometimes when we are living in a challenging time,
We feel like metal is clamped around our lungs and we can't breathe.
And the lungs are paired with the intestines,
So a lot of times that is the go-to.
We can't breathe.
Metal is locked around our lungs and locked around our intestines.
So just visualize that warm fire of the summertime,
Warming your lungs,
Breathing in and breathing out,
And then warming your beautiful intestines.
There is a yin-yang connection.
So the lungs are the yin and the intestines are the yang,
And we're balancing our energy.
So every organ helps every other organ.
So we finish off honoring our heart,
That red joy,
Fire time.
And we visualize a cocoon of red around our whole body,
Even going into the depths of Mother Earth.
So honoring her with our own joy,
Fire,
And honoring our body,
Breathing in and breathing out.
Thank you for listening.
I will talk to you soon.
