Thank you.

Thank you for being here.

Thank you.

You're the joy of my heart,

The joy of my life.

So we are going to move into an affirmation practice.

I guess I should introduce myself.

For those of you that are joining for the first time,

An extra warm welcome from my heart.

My name is Selena Leal.

I am a yoga and meditation instructor,

A transformational coach,

An awakened life teacher,

And having a human experience just like each of us.

So warm,

Warm welcome to everyone.

Thank you.

Thank you.

So affirmations.

Affirmations are so powerful because they can be like a reprogramming system for our lives.

We don't think about it this way usually,

But the thoughts that we have throughout the day that are something we think day to day,

Day in,

Day out,

We repeat these thought behaviors.

They're programming our brains.

They're programming our lives,

Literally.

If I think every day,

Oh,

I hate my body or I hate my life or I hate my job or I don't like this or I don't like that,

Not only is my mind focusing there,

But everything is connected.

The emotions in the body are one.

The mind and the body are one.

We're having this whole experience through the body and the sensations.

So when I live in those kinds of thoughts,

I feel it,

Don't I?

It impacts my physical health.

It,

In fact,

It impacts my emotional well-being to have those kind of thoughts on repeat.

And not only that,

But it literally trains the brain.

I know many of you have heard me speak on this many times.

I'm very passionate about it.

But there's a part of the brain,

A system in the brain that acts as a filter.

And those thoughts that we keep believing,

You could almost say they're like our belief systems or the values that we hold.

And when they are there on repeat,

This part of the brain that acts as a filter deems those thoughts or beliefs or values as important.

And its job is to help bring to life what you believe as important.

So,

For example,

If I have a belief that life is beautiful,

This part of my brain will help to filter in all of the beautiful experiences.

And of course,

That's relative.

But everything that I deem to be beautiful,

This part of the brain will help me see that.

And it will even block out the things that I don't deem as beautiful.

So you can imagine in reverse what this part of the brain does if I believe that I'm unattractive.

It will,

The brain will literally process the perspective of my body through my eyes and judgments of all of the things that I don't deem as attractive,

Totally overlooking the parts of the body that are attractive.

And we could go on and on with examples,

But I hope you kind of understand a little bit about how this part of the brain functions.

And our thoughts are fueling it.

So when we move into an affirmation practice,

And we not only repeat this thought or these words,

But we conjure up the emotion and we bring it to life in our mind,

Maybe we see images or just bring it to detail in some way in our thoughts,

This combination retrains this part of the brain.

It creates new neural pathways in the brain that say,

Ah,

This is where I'm putting my focus.

And this part of the brain will literally seek out that which you're putting your attention on to be part of your life.

You don't even have to know all of the steps.

You don't have to know how to get from point A to point B.

If you are putting your attention with all of the power that you are and your emotions and your constant focus and your imagination,

When you are deeply disciplined and committed to those thoughts and those feelings on a daily basis,

You don't have to know how to get from point A to point B.

The brain and your energetic systems,

Which is a whole other topic,

Will literally seek that out for you.

It will help to find paths in your life to make that a reality for you.

And it may not look the exact way that we want it to,

But if we are committed to those thoughts and those feelings and that attraction that we're creating with our focus,

Then it will bring something to us that serves us in the same way,

Even if it doesn't look exactly how we'd like it to.

So yes,

You can use affirmations as a way to start to feel better in the moment,

And you can use them as a way to be,

To embody,

To say yes to the powerful creator that you are and to welcome that into your life.

So as we move into our practice,

I invite you to bring this to your mind,

To your heart.

As you repeat affirmations,

Conjure up the emotion,

Even if you don't feel the emotion.

Imagine that you feel it.

Try to remember what it was like to feel that way,

To feel loving or peaceful or joyful.

Bring to mind images or memories that bring this affirmation to life.

And know that whatever you're feeling today,

Whatever you feel throughout our practice is okay.

We are not here to suppress,

To repress thoughts or feelings.

We are here to train the mind and the emotions to shift.

So if you are not feeling uplifted or joyful or self-loving as we move into our self-love affirmations,

It's okay.

It's okay.

You can take a breath and then just practice refocusing on the feeling that you're conjuring up,

On the thought,

And on the images or memories,

The details in your mind that bring it to life.

So let's take a breath together.

Inhale.

Exhale through the mouth.

Inhale deeply.

Exhale through the mouth.

One more breath like this.

And if the eyes are still open,

I invite you to gently close them.

And continue to feel this flow in the body,

The breath in and out,

In and out.

Set aside this constant need to be doing right now.

Allow your presence to be here,

Moving inward.

Allow there to be a space between the teeth and feel the jaw releasing down.

Feel the small muscles around the eyes and the mouth beginning to release,

To soften.

Bring your awareness to your scalp and the crown of your head and feel this sensation of spreading as the muscles,

As all tension begins to melt.

And as you breathe,

Allow this sense of melting and releasing to move down into your shoulders,

Your arms and hands.

This melting,

Letting go through the torso,

Pelvis,

Hips,

Legs all the way down into the feet,

Heavy,

Relaxing as you breathe.

Again,

As we move into this practice,

I invite you to be just as you are,

Because you can only be this.

However you feel is okay.

Whatever wanderings of the mind arise is okay.

Use the power within you to conjure up the emotion of the affirmation that you repeat.

Bring to mind the images or memories that bring this affirmation to life in your body,

In your mind,

In your heart.

Bring aliveness as you repeat each affirmation either silently in the mind or out loud from the heart.

Begin to breathe into the heart and allow the space of the heart to soften with your breath.

Notice if you've begun to clench the jaw or any part of the body and consciously release.

I am caring with myself.

I am caring with myself.

I am caring with myself.

And it's okay if you don't believe this to be true.

Imagine in your mind,

Feel in your heart and your body what it would be like to live a life of caring for yourself.

Feel that I am caring.

I am caring with myself.

Eyes are closed.

The awareness is with you right now,

With you.

I am doing my best in every moment.

I am doing my best in every moment.

Take a breath.

Feel this burden beginning to release as you acknowledge yourself.

I am doing my best in every moment.

You give so much.

You try so hard.

It's okay.

It's okay to be kind with yourself.

And it's okay if you don't know what that looks like.

Just continue to repeat.

I am doing my best in every moment.

I listen to myself with kindness.

I listen to myself with kindness.

I listen to myself with kindness.

How good would that feel to listen to yourself with kindness?

How relieved would you feel if you listen to yourself with kindness?

You may wish to have your hand over your heart,

Holding your heart for this practice.

It's okay to feel lost or confused.

It's okay to feel contracted.

Continue to focus.

I listen to myself with kindness.

My life is a gift.

My life is a gift.

My life is a gift.

It's a precious gift of life.

When I practice self-love,

I become more lovable.

When I practice self-love,

I become more lovable.

When I practice self-love,

I become more lovable.

Feel that.

What would that be like?

Imagine it in your mind.

When you practice self-love,

You become more receptive to love.

You live more in the qualities of love.

You live more in the qualities of the heart.

And you attract more love into your life as you radiate that and embody that.

And it all starts with you loving you.

The journey of self-love.

I am beautiful inside and out.

Go beyond the doubting judgmental mind,

My loves.

Say it.

Repeat this as if you believe it with every fiber of your being.

I am beautiful inside and out.

I am beautiful inside and out.

What would it feel like to embody that every day of your life?

Breathe that into your heart.

Welcome it.

I am worthy of love and respect.

What would that look like to live a life where you knew with every fiber of your being that you are worthy of love?

How would you live differently?

How would you think differently?

How would you feel if you embodied,

I am worthy of love and respect?

Bring it to life,

My loves,

In your mind and in your heart right now.

I love who I am becoming.

I love who I am becoming.

I love who I am becoming.

Every challenge,

Every misstep,

Every experience that seems like a mistake or a failure is growing you,

Is molding you into your very best self.

Every challenge is awakening you to the fullness of the life that you choose.

Sometimes we just get the same lesson over and over,

But it's okay.

It's okay.

I love who I am becoming.

Love that.

See that.

Know that.

Who are you willing to allow yourself to become?

Aren't you ready to lay down those old beliefs,

Those limiting beliefs about yourself?

Aren't you ready to lay down all of the judgment and the fear and just be open to loving who you are becoming and who you are?

I am deserving of all good things.

I am deserving of all of the greatness of life.

I am deserving of the greatness of life.

Breathe that in.

Create space in your body,

My loves.

Go beyond the doubting mind.

Welcome something new.

Self love comes easily for me.

What would that be like?

Imagine that in your mind.

Feel that in your body and your bones and your heart.

Self love comes easily for me.

Self love comes easily for me.

I don't even have to try.

It's easy.

Effortless.

I honor myself.

I honor myself.

I honor myself.

You are so beautiful,

My love.

You have so many gifts that you are for this earth,

For this world.

You deserve respect and kindness from yourself first and foremost.

I honor myself and my sovereignty.

Because I'm alive.

I am life itself.

I honor my mind.

I honor my heart.

I honor my body.

I honor all of the emotions that I feel in this humanness.

I honor myself.

I deeply love and accept myself.

I deeply love and accept myself.

I deeply love and accept myself.

Can you say this to yourself from the tenderness of your heart?

Even if it feels awkward or difficult,

Can you welcome this tenderness?

I deeply love and accept myself.

Today,

I choose myself.

Today,

I choose myself.

Today,

I choose myself.

Breathe that into your bones,

Every cell,

Molecule.

Breathe it into your DNA,

Your brain,

Your heart.

Today,

I choose myself.

I welcome love.

I welcome love.

I welcome love.

I am love.

Expand your heart even more.

Go beyond the mind.

Go beyond the contraction.

Go beyond it.

I am love.

I am love.

I am love.

And I welcome myself fully,

Just as I am.

I welcome myself.

I welcome myself.

I welcome myself.

Close the eyes.

Allow this vibration to pulsate in every cell.

Feel it pulsating in your brain,

In your heart.

Open yourself to life.

Open yourself beyond the mind.

Open,

Open to love.

Breathe deeply.

Breathe deeply into your heart.

Your whole body.

Breathe deeply.

And with a sense of kindness,

Tenderness,

Gentleness,

Begin to move the body.

Imagine that this body is like a newborn baby.

And as you move it,

Move it with the tenderness and preciousness that you would care for a newborn baby.

As you open the eyes,

Welcome life.

Welcome life with your eyes.

Can you see with your heart through your eyes?

Sai Ma says,

Think with your heart,

Love with your mind.

Think with your heart,

Love with your mind.

With your heart,

Love with your mind.

Thank you my beloveds.

Thank you.

Thank you for your donations.

I see them.

Your donations support me continuing the journey of my own evolution so I can continue absorbing knowledge and awakening in my own self and serve you with that.

And they support insight timer offering all of these free sessions so thank you for your generosity.

I was able to attend a really divine course with my teacher Saima last weekend and this flower was from the ceremony table that I created in my home.

It was a virtual event and I wanted to give it to you,

Share it with you tonight.

Let you smell its fragrance and experience its light just for you from my heart to yours.

Let's read some of your comments.

I see many thank yous.

Yes my loves thank you for being here.

Niels,

Can you let your self confidence grow?

It disappeared.

With all the words you say to us,

Can you let your self confidence grow?

My love I'm not sure I completely understand.

Maybe my personal self confidence or your self confidence.

Either way all these loving kind words can grow both of our self confidence.

Before I continue reading some comments I wanted to share in case anyone didn't see or missed the session we had the other day with my precious mother.

We led a wonderful energetic training together.

I've created something for you from the depths of my heart and soul.

It's live classes.

My intention is for it to become more of it.

We're beginning with live classes starting next Wednesday.

We're going to have a five week series of awakening the heart of the mystic.

Each session each week is going to be this opportunity to nurture that part of us that is longing.

That longing for something maybe it's something that you can't even name or it's a longing to feel seen or a longing to feel connected or a longing to just feel peace.

We're going to move it into a five week journey together.

Of filling that longing of awakening the fullness and the wholeness of who we are in that expression of the mystic the seeker.

So I welcome you from my heart to join for this series.

I'm so thrilled to be to be sharing that together.

Patty that was beautiful with deep appreciation for your work.

Thank you beloved.

Thank you.

Deep appreciation for you to be here with us.

Niels love the affirmations the lovely words you bring us.

Is that a way to let our self confidence grow.

Yes my love.

Most definitely.

Most definitely because when you repeat the words that I'm sharing you repeating them to yourself.

You awaken greater self love greater confidence greater trust in yourself.

This is where many of us are are feeling this longing or something's wrong or off.

It's because we long to have this harmonious relationship with ourself.

But there's a break in the trust.

There's a break in the trust.

Because we turn our back on ourselves.

You could even say we turn our back on the soul if you believe in soul.

For the sake of experience for the sake of temporary fulfillment for the sake of sense pleasures not that there's anything wrong with sense pleasures.

I come from a tradition and lineage that embraces enjoying the fullness of life.

And there's this understanding that in that searching to fill that emptiness in that that experience of emptiness in that that searching to fill the longing that we may not even realize we feel.

We turn our backs on ourselves over and over again.

Maybe we make a decision to do something with our body that is not honoring ourselves.

Maybe we make a decision to to say something or act in a certain way so one person will accept you but maybe you know it's not right in your heart for you.

We take these actions over and over again so that we feel a sense of connection or to fill that feeling of emptiness.

But it's always temporary.

And in the process we often turn our back on our own knowingness.

Our own wisdom our own hearts.

And it's okay.

We're learning.

We're all infants just learning in this life.

But when we do this over and over again in our lives.

Part of it is also education my loves.

We're not taught how to love ourselves,

And we're not taught that we're already whole.

We're not taught about the fullness that we are.

We're always taught that there's something outside to gain.

Something outside is going to make us feel better.

Whether it's our romance stories or our parents teaching us about how you have to have money and this kind of a job and that kind of an education or you know the the media and the society trying to sell you things.

Oh,

You'll finally be whole or perfect or beautiful if you just buy this product.

We don't we're not educated to know that we're already full.

And so again and again we turn our backs on ourselves and we break the trust with ourselves.

We break our own trust.

So when we practice loving ourselves with our thoughts with our actions,

Even if it's just one small action a day like brushing your hair or brushing your teeth or exercising or eating something alive something healthy and fresh.

Or maybe taking a risk.

When we take small actions every day we are,

We are building that trust again with ourself.

And that is that heart of confidence that is the heart of self love is turning towards ourselves again and again and again.

Even though it might seem so much easier to get attention from someone else or to feel relief from that drink or those substances or this or that.

It's so much easier,

But it's temporary.

It's temporary.

And that longing will be right there.

When that experience fades.

So how do we turn towards that longing and fill it with our own presence and love and awareness.

That is the heart of the mystic.

And that is the fullness of who you are,

You were born full,

You are born whole.

You can be nothing other than that.

You were born awakened.

You were born enlightened my love.

You are an enlightened being.

You are that light.

And it is just the covering of the human experience and the beliefs and our identification with the human experiences that we've forgotten.

We've forgotten our nature.

Kevin,

Have you recorded this to insight timer?

Kevin,

I believe I do have a self love affirmation practice on the app.

I believe it's not the same affirmations,

But I do believe there is a practice for self love affirmations.

Liliana,

Wonderful.

Thank you so much.

Camille,

Thank you so much.

I feel so much better.

Beautiful.

My love.

Good.

Thank you,

Patty.

Thank you,

My love.

Norm,

I'm new to this.

A skeptic at heart,

But I found you very listenable and genuine.

Thanks.

Awesome,

Norm.

And I welcome you and all of your skepticism.

It's very natural to be skeptic,

Skeptical in the world we live in.

And again,

It's the environment that we're exposed to.

It's the environment that we're raised in.

If we're raised around people who are skeptical or and one thing to think about here,

Which is which is interesting.

I don't think we usually think about it this way.

Skepticism,

We usually think about as practicality,

Logic,

Founded in science,

Things like this,

Right?

We think about it as as the the trustworthy thing to be skeptical.

But I invite you to start thinking about the skeptics that you know.

How many of those people have experienced great pain in their lives,

Some kind of a heartbreak,

Some kind of an ultimate disappointment,

Some kind of an ultimate letdown?

It's safer to be a skeptic.

It's safer to stick in the intellectual mind and not be open to something more.

It's safer.

It's safer.

You don't have to take as many risks.

There's not the possibility of failure or getting your heart broken or things just imploding in your face,

Exploding in your face,

Imploding or exploding.

Right.

It's a lot easier to live in skepticism.

I think many of us know that firsthand.

But as and this is different because I'm going to bring up pessimism,

Which is different from skepticism,

Even though they can overlap.

And it's this great quote by Daniel Goldman,

Who was kind of like one of the founding fathers or the pioneers of the understanding of emotional intelligence.

And he said,

None of us know enough to be pessimistic.

None of us know enough to be pessimistic.

This creation is vast.

The understandings of the physical body and the brain and the emotions,

They are vast.

We are still constantly learning about space and our bodies and our minds and our emotions.

It's a continuous discovery.

Yes,

None of us know enough to be pessimistic.

So you could also say within that,

That on some level,

None of us even know enough to be so skeptical,

To be so set in stone about the things that we choose to believe.

There's there's infinite knowledge and wisdom and experience available to us.

So,

Norm,

If you're still here,

Just just to be clear,

I I can relate to being a skeptic.

I welcome whatever skepticism you're experiencing.

My share has it is in no way meant to do anything other than highlight where skepticism often comes from for us.

And I welcome you fully as you are fully where you're at in your mind and your heart fully.

We're all right where we need to be.

We're all discovering life,

Ourselves,

Our needs in our own way.

And we're all different.

And that's part of the beauty of life.

So I welcome you.

I welcome your skepticism.

And as this is our first time together,

I believe I'd also love to just share that I am a huge fan of neuroscience.

So even though I bring very heartfelt teachings and maybe very esoteric teaching,

Sometimes I love understanding the the the foundation of these practices and how they affect the brain,

How they affect the physiology,

What's happening in ourselves and our DNA.

This is something I'm also very passionate about.

So I know that for someone who's kind of maybe easing into this,

Knowing that I love to look at the science also is maybe a little a little more supportive.

So thank you.

Thank you for sharing and thank you for being here with us.

It's awesome.

Totally awesome.

OK,

Where are we going?

Belle,

Thank you very much,

Selena.

Much needed today.

Yes,

My love.

I'm so glad you came.

Merci,

Simon,

Simon,

Simon.

Kevin,

The best self-love affirmations I've heard.

Bless you.

Oh,

Beautiful.

Good,

My love.

I wrote them all down just for you.

Richard,

If you don't love yourself and you are not fully ready to accept all the good things that are ready to come to you.

I really believe that.

Awesome.

My love.

Awesome.

It's really true for anyone who missed our You Are the Love that You Seek session.

It's here on the app.

I created a I uploaded it as a replay for anyone who missed that.

We had some really good nuggets of knowledge in that one.

And it's this awareness that that if I'm covering my heart,

I had a prop the other day that worked really well.

I went over this again in a different session that if I if I,

You know,

I'm keeping let's say that there's somebody I don't like or that I don't let's see.

Richard,

How did you say it?

You're not fully to accept all the good things in your life.

So if I'm not loving myself fully,

Then it's as if I'm only allowing so much life in.

So this is something like that's covering my heart or you could say it's covering my life when I'm not loving myself,

When I'm living in constant judgment or or what are all the things that we do?

We judge ourselves.

We don't believe in ourselves.

We doubt ourselves.

We're not kind with ourselves.

We don't respect ourselves.

All of these things,

Right?

It's as if there's this covering over my life and this covering doesn't just exist in my relationship with myself and self love,

But it also limits what's able to come into my life because here it is covering my life.

So this maybe wasn't the best physical example today.

But just to highlight what you were sharing,

Richard,

That yes,

If we're only open this much,

Then we're only open this much to everything,

Not just self love or certain aspects of our life.

Yes,

It's everything.

So and and self love is a journey.

It's a journey.

It's a journey.

Just step by step,

Little things each day.

I've been practicing some of these kinds of affirmations and ways of being for decades,

And I still get hard on myself.

I still have moments of doubt.

I still have moments of judgment towards myself.

It's just a journey,

My loves.

And we just continue with the journey and it becomes fuller.

And that space that is maybe only partially open becomes wider and wider and wider and wider through our practice,

Through our dedication to ourself and really our dedication to our lives and being open and available to something more than what we know or what we believe.

Patrick,

I took my inner child on a date this week and shared this love that is already inside of it.

Awesome.

I love self dates.

They're so important and so great.

That's great,

My dear.

Thanks for sharing that with us.

Why do we forget who we are for the sake of experience?

For the sake of experience.

Because if I forget who I truly am,

Then I get to be Selena.

I get to have days where I'm so sad and so angry.

And I get to have days where the world is a terrible place and where the world is a beautiful place and where I feel lost and where I feel a longing and where I feel whole and where I feel peaceful.

We forget who we are for the sake of experiencing this exquisite life.

Because if I remembered who I am,

I would just be okay with everything.

All is well.

This is a playground.

This planet is a playground for us.

We forget and remember,

Forget and remember,

Forget and remember until maybe one day we remember.

And that joy,

That peace,

That.

.

.

What is the word that I'm looking for?

It's like quelling the heart.

It's like this.

.

.

Like when you've been longing for something that you can't even name for your entire existence and then all of a sudden you merge with that thing.

That's what happens when we remember who we are.

I'd say forgetting who we are just to have that experience of that merging again is worth it all.

And as always,

You're welcome to take or leave anything that I share here.

Whatever beliefs you come with,

Whatever religious background,

All is welcome.

All is welcome.

You are welcome.

I welcome you fully.

Every part of my heart.

Every part of me.

Hi Kiki.

Pause,

Float.

You have a self of affirmations,

Meditations.

Yes.

Yes.

Yes.

Thank you.

Yes,

Jason,

Just for you.

Awesome tangent on skepticism.

Yes.

Norm,

Heard your awesome response to my comment.

Thanks,

Selena.

Great,

My love.

Great.

Great.

And again,

I welcome you just as you are.

We're all on our path.

We're all in our path.

Kiki,

Your passion is felt across the waves.

Great.

Great.

Great.

Great.

Oh,

Kiki should write a note to yourself and enjoy it twice.

Once when writing it and second when reading it.

Yes,

Kiki,

I love this idea or this practice of writing a love letter to yourself.

And you can write it as if you were writing the love letter to your most epic love,

Whether you're married or not,

Or you have a partner or not.

Write a love letter as if there is the most epic love out there for you.

And write about everything you love about them,

How they make you feel,

What they what they bring to your life,

All of their amazing qualities.

Write this love letter that just oozes and gushes love and appreciation.

And then read that to yourself every day.

I love this about you.

You're so amazing.

You're this.

You're that.

I just love being around you.

You light up my life.

You and then read that to yourself.

Yes.

Yes.

Yes.

Gee,

All of a sudden you are truly home.

Yes.

Yes,

My love.

SNL.

Yes.

Having all our emotions is a blessing.

I am thankful.

Yes.

Yes.

It's all part of the experience.

We sure resist the emotions,

Don't we?

But it's all part of the gift of life.

All part of the experience.

Patrick celebrating the love that is already inside of all of us as we continue the journey to reveal the eternal love that we were born with and that we are my love.

Born with and that we are right now in this very moment.

Right now.

Close your eyes for just a moment,

Each of us.

And just feel a knowingness that there is a love inside of you that is beyond emotion,

Beyond time and space.

This pulsating life force of love vibrating in your entire being.

This is who you are.

Ah,

Kevin,

You make us feel whole.

You make you feel whole,

My love.

My presence reminds you of how to feel the wholeness of who you are.

I'm here just as a reflection to remind you of who you are.

How beautiful is that?

How beautiful is that?

It's like Ram Dass said,

We're all just walking each other home.

Mmm,

Mmm,

Mmm,

Mmm.

Beautiful,

My love.

Beautiful.

It is my greatest honor to serve you in the remembrance of who you are.

That is the grace of my guru,

My Sai Ma,

My beloved teacher of almost 20 years.

Ma has continued to serve me as love,

To guide me as love into self-mastery.

Ma's teachings are rooted in self-mastery.

Ma has always said,

I'm not here for followers.

I'm here to awaken masters.

I'm not here for followers.

I am here to awaken,

Cultivate masters.

We are all one.

Ma is a reflection of who I am,

Reminding me.

I am here for whoever feels this way to be a reflection of you and remind you of who you are.

Remind you of the light that you are.

Ah,

Good,

My Neels.

Good,

My love.

Good,

My love.

Practice,

Practice every day,

Even if just a few affirmations.

It becomes easier and easier the more we practice.

Sometimes we have highs and really expand it.

Sometimes we have lows.

Just keep practicing.

That's all of this,

This game of self-mastery.

It's just practice.

We are all one,

One light.

I honor you and your awakening,

Just as you are,

As light.
