Our culture’s collective mind (consciousness) is fundamentally masculine. So, the assumptions that dominate our values, perceptions, and choices ultimately favor masculine qualities (both positive and negative). In a culture like ours, where the conscious mind is masculine, the subconscious mind carries the values that are literally driven underground by the conscious mind. Therefore, in our culture, the Divine Feminine exists underneath the mind, in the world of our subconscious, and in our bodies. In our masculine-dominated culture, we have all been conditioned to favor the mind over the body, reason, and logic over feeling and sensing. This separation cuts us off from billions of years of instinctual wisdom that exists in our DNA and tissues, and it cuts us off from the more feminine ways of knowing. We will explore this in a movement meditation today. Background music by Silencio Music production company, composed by Chris Mullett. Track image by Noel Jeannine Photography.

Hello and welcome to your embodied exploration of the divine feminine.

I'm excited that you're here and to see what comes of this practice for you.

So let's begin.

In our culture,

And I'm primarily talking about Western culture,

But this exists in other cultures as well,

But in our cultures collective mind,

In our consciousness if you will,

It is fundamentally masculine.

So the assumptions that dominate our values and our perceptions and choices ultimately favor masculine qualities,

Both the positive and the negative.

In a culture like ours where the conscious mind is masculine,

The subconscious mind carries the values that are literally driven underground by the conscious mind.

Therefore in our culture,

The divine feminine exists underneath the mind in the world of our subconscious and our bodies.

There are many ways to descend into the murky waters of the feminine.

We can examine our dreams and our shadows.

We can explore our creative impulses and all the ways that we make something that didn't exist before.

We can study our draw into beauty.

We can wander around in nature.

All of these are beautiful ways.

And we can also explore our bodies,

Which is what we're going to do today.

There is compelling research that suggests that our bodies are more a part of our minds than our brains are.

In fact,

The heart and the gut both contain more neurons than our brains,

Which validates the use of heart-centered and gut-centered ways of knowing and decision-making.

In our masculine dominated culture,

We have all been conditioned to favor the mind over the body,

Reason and logic over feeling and sensing.

This separation cuts us off from billions of years of instinctual wisdom that exists in our DNA,

Our tissues,

Our bones.

And it cuts us off from the more feminine ways of knowing.

So today we're going to explore the divine feminine through our bodies in a movement meditation.

You will need space to move around at least three feet in all directions.

So go ahead and get yourself set up and we will begin.

So we're going to start by standing.

And just beginning to sense into the places where our body is touching the ground.

Really feeling into the bottoms of our feet.

Feeling the pressure that exists here.

Noticing any temperature or exchange of energy going on between your feet and the substances and materials that your feet are touching.

Just starting to wake your attention up to the sensations that are present here.

Sensation being the fundamental language of life,

Of spirit moving through and on your body.

Speaking to you in its own way.

We're just slowing down enough to begin to listen.

So continuing to notice the seat these sensations as you gently begin to move your attention from the bottoms of your feet to the tops of your feet.

Up to your ankles and your shins.

And your calves.

Just noticing the sensation present here the bottom half of your legs.

And again that sensation can show up as temperature ranging from heat to coolness.

It can also appear as pressure or lack of pressure,

Constriction,

Expansion,

Everything in between.

And it can also show up as movements,

Swirling,

Zapping,

Pulsing,

Pumping.

So continuing to notice as you move up into your knees,

Your thighs,

The backs of your legs.

Noticing from the inside what's going on here at this part of your body.

Continuing upwards into your glute muscles,

Your hips,

Hip flexors,

All the sphincter muscles,

Everything going on there.

And if you notice your mind beginning to wander,

There's no worries,

It does that.

Just gently bring it back.

Gently noticing how life is speaking to you at this region in your body.

And if you're not feeling anything,

That's okay too,

It's incredibly normal.

Just stick with the practice and your attention and your awareness and your sensitivity will increase.

Continuing up the body into the stomach and the back,

Noticing all the sensations present in your torso.

Maybe even feeling from the inside your own heartbeat,

Your breath,

Your digestion.

All of these magnificent processes guided by instinct.

And you're just slowing down long enough to notice.

Continuing upwards into the shoulders and down the arms,

From your upper arms to the lower arms and wrists and hands,

All the way to your fingertips,

Noticing the aliveness and space existing inside of your skin.

Coming back up into the chest and upper back,

Up the throat and neck,

The jaw,

Your cheeks,

The tip of your nose,

Up into your brow and finally peeking at the crown.

And then widening your awareness to include your whole body.

This dynamic dance of sensation,

Constantly in flux,

Constantly speaking to you.

Billions of years of wisdom carried in these cells,

In these sensations.

And we're just waking up the body and attuning our attention to it here.

So for a few more breaths,

Enjoying the witnessing of this dance.

And then this next part of the meditation,

I'm going to say a word that represents a quality of the divine feminine.

And the invitation for you is to create a shape or a posture with your body.

That represents this word.

Allow your body to move you into the shape.

So let's begin with compassionate.

What posture or movement or shape represents compassionate to you?

Just taking a moment to feel the fullness of this shape.

Notice the sensations that are present here in this shape.

Perhaps other things are bubbling up from your subconscious.

Images,

Colors,

Metaphors.

Just allow them to emerge.

And if nothing is bubbling up,

That's okay too.

We're just getting started.

So let's move now into a shape that represents empathy and being empathetic.

There is no wrong way to do this.

You might notice that your body will want to create a shape,

And then your mind will come in and tell you to do something else.

And this is totally normal.

The invitation is to let your body lead you here.

To be curious about the shapes that your body wants to take.

Empathetic.

What does that look like in your body?

Moving on now to collaborative.

Letting your body lead you into a shape that represents collaboration.

How about intuitive?

What posture represents intuitive?

Feeling the whole posture.

The sensations present here.

Changes in temperature and pressure and movement.

As you shift into and take these shapes.

Moving now into receptive.

What does receptive look and feel like in your body?

How about soft?

What does softness look like?

Or patience?

How might patience take shape?

And what else emerges from the subconscious as you do this?

Moving now into the quality of magnetism.

Being magnetic.

What posture represents being magnetic to you?

How about passionate?

How does your body want to represent passion and being passionate?

And finally,

Nurturing.

How might your body represent nurturing?

With its shape or its posture.

Really good.

And so finally to wrap up.

Recall a shape in this dance that we just did.

That felt really good to you.

You get to decide what good means here.

And use your body to create that shape again.

And while in this shape.

Think of a situation in which this quality that you are embodying in this shape.

Would be helpful for you to move forward.

How might you embody this shape in this quality?

In the situation that you're in.

And allow the answer to come to you.

Resist the temptation to create the perfect answer with your mind.

And instead allow it to bubble up from the shape itself.

And choose one way to embody this quality in your situation.

And make a commitment to yourself to try it.

This is how we embody the feminine qualities.

This is how we restore balance in our world between the masculine and feminine.

And ultimately create healing for all sentient beings.

So when you're ready take a couple deep breaths and give your body some movement.

To release any excess energy that this practice brought up for you.

And giving yourself just some gentle touch.

Maybe patting yourself down,

Smoothing your hands over your skin.

Just to help ground the energy.

And taking a few more deep breaths.

Letting this experience marinate.

And knowing that you could come back to this.

When it feels like you could use some of the divine feminine wisdom.

Some of your body wisdom.

To help you move forward.

And if you would like to let me know what came up for you.

What you're going to do with it.

I would absolutely adore to hear from you.

So please do reach out.

And I will see you in the next video.

So please do reach out.

Thank you all for joining me today and for doing this work.

I'll see you next time.

Take care.
