There are bound to be days where we feel out of balance,

Ungrounded,

And like we're being pulled in every different direction.

In those moments,

We can use our breath to bring us back to center.

This technique,

Known as the physiological sigh,

Is one of the quickest and most effective ways to ease tension,

Calm the mind,

And bring yourself back into equilibrium and into the present moment.

You can do this practice standing,

Sitting,

Or lying down,

But whatever position you take,

Let it be one that fully allows you to soften and disengage for the duration of the practice.

Let your eyes soften or close them down completely,

If that feels okay,

And take a few breaths to welcome softness throughout your body.

Welcoming a sense of softness into your hands,

Your feet,

Your face,

And into your belly.

For this practice,

You will take two full inhales through the nose,

Followed by an extended exhale through the mouth,

Breathing all of the air out on each exhale.

The breath will sound a little bit like this.

So if they're not already,

Allow your lips to close,

And take an inhale through the nose.

Now another small sip,

And exhale slowly and fully through your mouth.

Again,

Inhale through the nose,

A second quick inhale at the top,

And exhale slowly through the mouth.

Continue like this.

Now take a deep inhale in,

A little bit more,

And let an audible exhale out.

Again like that,

Deep inhale,

Sip in again,

And let an audible exhale out.

One more,

Just like that.

Deep inhale,

Sip at the top,

And on the exhale,

Let something go.

Ah.

Letting go of the breathing technique,

Allow your breath to return to its natural flow.

Settling back and checking in,

And see if you notice any shifts in the body or shifts in the mind.

If so,

That's great.

If not,

That's also great.

Just allowing yourself to be here for a few more moments before moving on into the rest of your day.

Thank you for making space with me.

Wow! I feel great! There is so much to breathing. Not only is it essential for life, but at times it can be downright magical, and this meditation leans towards the latter. Thank you, Sean.

Very nice little practice and a great way to start my day. I’m feeling nicely calm and chilled after doing it. Thanks 🙏
