Transforming your relationship to sadness.

Welcome to this healing journey where we will explore and transform your relationship with sadness.

Inhale into your nest,

Close your eyes and let's begin by taking some long,

Slow,

Deep breaths.

Allow yourself to arrive fully in this moment.

With each inhale,

Draw in a sense of calm and acceptance.

And with each exhale,

Let go of anything you don't need.

Sink into this very moment and let everything else go.

Today we will journey into the heart of sadness.

An emotion that many of us have been taught to avoid.

To push away or cover up with a smile.

Sadness is often seen as something to be banished,

A sign of weakness.

Something that needs to be fixed.

But what if instead of pushing sadness away,

You welcomed it?

What if you saw sadness not as something to avoid but as a powerful moment to honour yourself.

To connect with your deepest feelings.

To embrace your vulnerability.

Let's begin by acknowledging the times when you have felt sadness.

Perhaps you're feeling sadness right now.

Or perhaps there's a memory of a sadness that lingers in your heart.

As you bring this sadness to mind,

Notice where you feel it in your body.

Is it a heaviness in your chest,

A lump in your throat or a deep ache in your heart?

Just focus on the feeling of sadness in your body.

Let yourself be with this feeling and know that it's okay to feel sad.

Sadness is a natural part of the human experience.

It tells us that we need attention,

Care and love.

So instead of pushing it away or trying to snap out of it,

What if you just allowed yourself to fully feel your sadness?

What if in this moment you gave yourself the permission to honour your sadness as a sacred and powerful experience of self-healing?

Imagine now that you are creating a beautiful,

Safe space within yourself.

A sanctuary where your sadness is welcome.

Where it can be fully felt and expressed without any fear or shame.

See this sacred place inside of you using your imagination.

Perhaps it's a beautiful garden.

Perhaps just a wide open space full of light,

Love and safety.

Maybe a beach with a crystal clear ocean.

Create a sacred place inside yourself that is especially for your sadness.

The place you go when sadness comes to visit you.

A safe space inside yourself.

We will call this place your sadness sanctuary.

The place you go so you can honour your sadness.

A place you go to let the sadness pass through you freely without blocking it,

Numbing it or pushing it down.

Your sadness sanctuary is a place where your sensitivity is honoured.

Where your fragility is cherished.

Where your tears are seen as a sign of your deep connection to yourself and the world around you.

In this sanctuary allow yourself to feel the sadness that resides within you.

If you feel the need to cry,

Please let the tears flow.

They are not a sign of weakness,

But a sign of healing.

A sign of your strength.

Your courage to feel life.

And your willingness to embrace the full spectrum of emotions.

Crying is not something to be ashamed of.

It is a release,

A cleansing and a way to honour your inner self.

So please as you sit in your sadness sanctuary now,

Recognise that your sadness is not something to be fixed or eradicated.

It's part of your journey.

Part of your humanity.

This is a moment of stillness,

An opportunity to turn inwards,

To connect with your heart and to listen to yourself.

In your sadness sanctuary you honour your vulnerability.

You give yourself the love and care that you need in this moment.

Often we're told that we're too sensitive or that we feel too much.

Or that we should be looking on the bright side.

But the truth is your sensitivity is a gift.

Your ability to feel deeply is a sign of your strength.

And your willingness to sit with your sadness is a profound act of self-love.

By allowing yourself to feel your sadness,

You're honouring the most tender parts of yourself.

The parts that need your love and attention the most.

You're honouring your sadness.

You're honouring your vulnerability.

And you're honouring the depth of your emotions.

Sadness is not something to be feared or avoided.

It is a doorway to deeper self-understanding,

Healing and growth.

This is a moment to pause,

To reflect and connect with your true self.

By giving yourself permission to visit your sadness sanctuary in order to feel sad,

You're giving yourself the gift of authenticity.

You're giving yourself the gift of being fully and truly human.

So as you continue to breathe deeply now,

Allow yourself to feel the power of your sadness.

This is not a power that comes from force or control,

But a power that comes from your willingness to be vulnerable.

To be real.

To be fully present with whatever you're feeling.

In this moment you're embodying the true power of vulnerability.

The power of honouring your emotions.

The power of loving yourself,

Even in your most fragile moments.

Please feel the sense of peace and acceptance that comes from honouring your sadness.

And when you're ready,

Gently open your eyes.

Carrying this new perspective with you as you move forward.

That sadness is not something to be avoided or suppressed.

It is a sacred part of your journey.

A moment to honour yourself.

To connect with your heart.

And to embrace the full spectrum of your emotions.

You are strong.

You are resilient.

And you are capable of transforming any emotion into a source of healing and growth.

Trust in your ability to honour your sadness and know that by doing so,

You are honouring the most beautiful and powerful parts of yourself.

I’ve always seen sadness as a weakness but learning everyday there are different ways to express your emotions and feelings. I’ve never been a crier but the tears flow now and I am unapologetic on expressing myself. This is another great tool to put in my toolbox for healing. πŸ¦‹
