Transforming your relationship to feeling nothing at all.

Welcome to this healing journey where we will explore and transform your relationship with feeling numb,

Disconnected or shut down.

As you settle into a comfortable position,

Close your eyes and take a deep breath.

With each inhale,

Draw in a sense of calm and acceptance.

And with each exhale,

Release any expectations or pressures you may be holding.

Allow yourself to fully arrive in this moment,

Ready to embrace where you are exactly as you are.

There are times in life when emotions seem to slip away,

When the vibrant colours of feeling fade into a muted grey.

You may find yourself feeling disconnected,

Numb,

Unable to connect with your emotions.

Maybe it's because you're overwhelmed,

Exhausted,

Traumatised or simply burnt out.

These are the moments when life feels heavy and you might wonder why you feel so distant from yourself.

But what if I told you that feeling nothing is not a failure or a flaw?

Feeling numbness is your mind and body's way of protecting you,

Of signalling that you need a break,

A pause,

A moment of profound acceptance.

Feeling nothing can be your heart and your soul's way of asking for space,

For stillness,

For a time to recharge and reset.

So in this moment I invite you to give yourself the gift of radical self-acceptance.

Allow yourself to be exactly where you are,

Without judgement,

Without pushing yourself and trying to feel anything different.

There is no need to fix or force your emotions.

Instead embrace the stillness,

The quiet,

The space of feeling nothing.

This is a time to hold reverence for yourself,

To honour the need to switch off,

To disconnect in order to survive,

To heal and to restore.

So take a deep breath and as you exhale imagine a soft,

Comforting blanket of acceptance wrapping around you.

Feel its warmth and security,

Knowing that it's okay to be in this space of numbness.

It's okay to not feel anything right now.

Life can be overwhelming and sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is to step back,

To take a break from the intensity of emotions and to allow yourself simply to be.

The question is how can you show yourself love and kindness during these moments?

Because this is a time to nurture yourself,

To practice gentle self-care,

To remind yourself that even in the absence of strong emotions you are worthy of love,

Care and compassion.

So imagine now that you're creating a safe sanctuary for yourself,

A place where you can retreat and recharge.

Perhaps it's a warm bubble bath with candles flickering softly and music playing softly in the background.

Feel the soothing water around you washing away the stress and exhaustion,

Allowing you to relax deeply into the present moment.

Or maybe self-care for you is a walk in nature,

The feeling of the earth beneath your feet,

The rustle of leaves in the breeze and the scent of fresh air filling your lungs.

Picture yourself surrounded by the beauty of the natural world.

Feel the gentle connection to the earth even when your emotions feel distant.

Whatever form of self-care resonates with you,

See yourself engaging in it fully with love and intention.

Because these small acts of kindness towards yourself are powerful reminders that you're deserving of care,

Even in the moments of numbness.

By nurturing your body,

You nurture your soul and you create the space for your emotions to gently return when they are ready.

So silently repeat to yourself now.

Sometimes it's okay to feel nothing.

I honor the space of stillness.

I care for myself with love and kindness.

As you breathe these words in,

Feel a deep sense of peace settling within you.

Know that it's okay to switch off when life gets too much.

It's okay to allow yourself the time you need to step away,

To rest,

To recharge.

This is not a sign of weakness or that you're doing anything wrong.

It's a sign of deep wisdom and self-compassion.

But please know this.

If you feel like you stay in the space of disconnection for too long,

If you find that the numbness lingers,

Then maybe this is a signal to reach out for help.

Maybe it's talking to a trusted friend,

Seeking support from a counselor or coach,

Or reaching out to a healthcare professional.

Please know that asking for help is a powerful act of self-love and self-respect.

By giving yourself permission to rest,

To feel nothing,

You create the space for healing to begin.

And when you're ready,

You will find that the world,

With all its colors and emotions,

Welcomes you back with open arms.

Until then,

Please be gentle with yourself,

Care for yourself,

And trust that you are exactly where you need to be.

Take a few more deep breaths now,

Feeling this comfort and peace within you.

When you're ready,

Gently open your eyes,

Carrying this sense of acceptance and self-care with you as you move forward.

Remember it's okay to disconnect when life feels overwhelming.

Give yourself the time and space you need,

And trust that your emotions will return when you're ready to welcome them back.

You are strong,

You are wise,

And you are deserving of all the love,

Care,

And compassion that life has to offer.

Trust in yourself.

Take the time you need,

And know that you are exactly where you need to be on your journey.
