Transforming your relationship to loneliness.
Welcome to this healing journey where we will explore and transform your relationship with loneliness.
As you find a comfortable position close your eyes and take some long slow deep breaths.
With each inhale draw in a sense of calm and openness and with each exhale release any tension or discomfort you may be holding.
Allow yourself to fully arrive in this moment ready to explore the depths of your own heart and soul.
Loneliness is an emotion that can feel overwhelming.
The deep sense of emptiness and isolation that can make you feel lost and disconnected.
But what if I told you that loneliness is not something to be feared or avoided?
What if loneliness is actually an important moment in your existence?
A call from the deepest most sensitive fragile part of yourself asking to be seen heard and acknowledged by you.
Take a moment now to connect with the feeling of loneliness.
Where does that feeling live in your body?
Is it a heaviness in your chest a tightness in your throat?
Simply observe it without judgment.
Loneliness often arises when we aren't very good at being with ourselves.
When we struggle to spend time in our own company.
To be quiet with ourselves.
To face our own presence.
It's in these moments that we tend to go to dark places.
To feel disconnected and lost.
But loneliness is not your enemy.
Loneliness is the evidence of a disconnection you have with yourself.
Loneliness is a signal that you need to work on deepening your relationship with you.
Every time you feel lonely is an opportunity to connect more deeply with yourself.
To nurture the relationship you have with the person you spend your entire life with.
You.
What is it you need to hear when you feel lonely?
When you feel loneliness what are you longing to feel?
Perhaps you long to feel the warmth of a hand holding yours.
The reassurance of touch.
So why not hold your own hand?
Feeling the connection between your fingers.
Feeling the warmth of your own skin.
You can reassure yourself and comfort yourself simply by being present with your own touch.
Maybe you long to be enveloped in a big safe hug.
So why don't you wrap your arms around yourself?
Hold yourself tightly offering yourself the safety and security you crave.
Feel the comfort of your own embrace.
The strength of your own arms holding you close.
You have the power to give yourself what you need.
To provide the love and care you long for when you feel lonely.
Perhaps you're longing for a romantic partner.
Someone to share life's moments with.
Someone to love you deeply.
But while you wait for that person what's stopping you from romancing yourself now?
You can do that in this very moment.
Just imagine you are preparing a beautiful romantic meal just for you.
Light candles.
Play your favourite music.
Set the table with love and intention.
And imagine yourself sitting down to this meal savouring each bite.
Feeling the love and attention you've given to yourself.
You don't need to wait for someone else to make you feel loved.
You can fall in love with you.
Loneliness is not a void that needs to be filled by others.
It's a call to fall in love with yourself.
To romance yourself.
To seduce yourself with kindness,
Affirmation and attention.
Loneliness is a reminder to pay more attention to your own needs.
To listen to your heart.
And to honour the person you are.
You are worthy of your own love.
You are worthy of your own care.
You are worthy of your own attention.
So I ask you now to silently repeat to yourself the following.
Loneliness is a call to connect with myself.
I am worthy of my own love and attention.
I choose to nourish and cherish the relationship I have with me.
As you breathe these words in feel a sense of peace and connection begin to grow within you.
Know that you are not alone.
You have yourself,
Your own presence,
Your own love that you can always rely on.
You have the power to meet your own needs,
To fill your own heart with all the love and care it longs for.
Take a moment now to visualise yourself engaging in a self-care ritual that brings you comfort and joy.
Maybe it's a warm bubble bath with candles flickering softly around you.
Maybe it's a walk in nature feeling the earth beneath your feet.
Maybe it's simply sitting quietly with a cup of tea savouring the warmth and the moment of stillness.
Whatever it is for you see yourself fully present in this moment,
Nurturing yourself,
Loving yourself,
Being there for yourself.
As you begin to bring your awareness back to the present moment,
Take a few more deep breaths.
Feeling a sense of connection and love within you.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Carrying this sense of self-love and care as you move forward.
Please remember that loneliness is not something to be feared or avoided.
It is simply a call to connect with yourself.
To nurture the most important relationship you will ever have.
The relationship with you.
You are strong.
You are capable.
And you are deserving of all the love and care you can give yourself.
Trust in your ability to meet your own needs.
To love yourself deeply.
And to find peace and contentment in your own presence.
