Hello,

My friends,

And welcome.

This practice has been designed to quieten your mind.

It's perfect to use at the end of your day,

To assist in your transition from work to home life,

Or in a moment where you're feeling overwhelmed and overstimulated.

It is also particularly beneficial for those with ADHD who,

Like me,

Have a hard time getting their internal chatter to simmer down.

This meditation will make use of bilateral music,

Which alternates between the left and right ear and stimulates both sides of the brain.

It has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety while creating a sense of calm and grounding.

For the best effects,

Use headphones to listen to this meditation.

If you cannot use headphones,

Turn your phone sideways and place it near your head so that the sound can alternate between the top and bottom speakers of your phone.

Take a few moments now to find a comfortable seated or lying position.

Allow your hands to rest at your sides and let the eyes gently close.

Take a deep breath in through the nose and release it out through the mouth.

Listen to the music and feel your mind go quiet.

If any thoughts arise,

Simply acknowledge them and release them.

Notice any areas of tension in your body.

Consciously relax those areas,

Maybe allowing the shoulders to drop.

Give the jaw a little wiggle.

Soften the muscles of the face.

Feel your limbs grow heavy with relaxation.

If your mind has begun to wander,

Simply bring it back to the present moment and focus on the sounds of the music.

Slowly start to bring your awareness back into the body.

Inviting some movement into the fingers and toes.

Maybe taking a stretch if that feels good.

And when you feel ready,

Gently open your eyes.

Namaste.
