Join me for this tapping (EFT) meditation where we will work towards embracing change. Change doesn't always come easy and sometimes we have to willingly let go of the past and accept moving forward, towards the future. This meditation will help support that process.

This is an EFT meditation for helping us embrace change.

If you've never done an EFT meditation,

It requires you to do some gentle tapping along different points on your body.

And we'll use these specific points,

Which will be the very side,

The karate chop side of your dominant hand,

And you're just going to gently tap with your opposite fingers lightly on that spot.

And then we'll move to the top of the head,

And you can tap with one or both fingers,

The tips of the fingers.

Then we'll move to the brow,

Right along the eyebrow ridge.

Again,

You can do one or both hands.

Then we'll move to underneath the eye,

Right along the cheekbone and the bottom ridge of the eye socket.

We'll move to that space right between the top lip and underneath the nose.

I'll call it under the nose.

We'll move to the very middle of the chin.

And then finally,

The final point,

And we'll move through these several times,

Will be right over the center of your sternum.

I'll call it over the heart.

It's a symbolic gesture of the heart space.

You're also welcome to tap along the clavicle.

And so this will be a call and response meditation where I will say a phrase,

And then I'll leave some space for you to repeat that phrase,

Either internally or out loud.

I'll take us on a little bit of a journey where we first acknowledge some of the difficult feelings and ways of being in this moment.

And we'll end up in a place where we are in a more affirmative,

Committed to change kind of head space and mind space.

So when you're ready,

Feel free to find a really comfortable seat and body position where you can be there for a bit of time.

You can take a moment and orient into the space in the room that you're in.

You can look around the space and just let your eyes land on different objects,

Different shapes,

Different colors.

It's really nice to just acknowledge that you're in a safe space so you can freely practice.

And when you're ready,

I will invite you to close your eyes and simply listen to the sound of my voice.

If closing your eyes doesn't feel okay for you right now,

Then just softly focus them on an unmoving point.

We'll take a couple of deep breaths here,

Allowing the breath to anchor you into this moment,

Help you to arrive in this practice.

And when you are ready,

Begin that gentle tapping on that outside edge of your dominant hand with the opposite hand and fingertips.

And we'll begin repeating after me.

Even though I say I want things to change,

I find myself reluctant to let go.

Moving to the top of the head,

Old habits,

Emotions,

Thoughts,

And patterns have me locked in their hold.

Moving to the eyebrow,

However challenging,

Upsetting,

Or disappointing it may have been.

Under the eye,

However wonderful,

Enlightening,

And energizing.

Under the nose,

Whatever it was that was in the past,

It was known.

Moving to the chin,

And it is difficult to surrender the comfort of familiarity.

Over the heart,

Or a leap into the undefined,

Unexplored,

Unseen,

And unknown is scary.

Side of the hand,

But part of me realizes that things have already changed.

Top of the head,

I am neither who I was before,

Eyebrow,

Nor is anything or anyone around me exactly the same.

Under the eye,

Transience and transformation occur.

Under the nose,

Whether or not we flow.

Chin,

It is in our hands to adapt and accelerate.

Over the heart,

It is in our hands to argue,

Lament,

Struggle,

Or refuse.

Side of the hand,

Doing the same old things,

Reacting in the same old ways.

Top of the head,

The time for that is done now.

Eyebrow,

And I am willing to make headway,

To be a little less rigid.

Under the eye,

A little less fearful.

Under the nose,

A little more secure.

Chin,

I am willing to learn a new way,

And do what I have never done before.

Over the heart,

One step at a time is all it takes to discover new terrains and roots.

Side of the hand,

So I choose to release the past,

And insisting that it must remain intact.

Top of the head,

I appreciate and thank what was.

Eyebrow,

I do this even as I welcome the new.

Under the eye,

In this present moment,

Under the nose,

I surrender all games.

Chin,

All my conscious and unconscious methods of proving or disproving.

Over the heart,

My cherished beliefs to date.

Side of the hand,

With a beginner's mind,

I see clearly again.

Top of the head,

Without any historical perceptions weighing me down.

Eyebrow,

I am no longer trapped.

Under the eye,

I am no longer constricted.

Under the nose,

I am no longer constrained.

Over the heart,

I invite in joy,

Ease,

And peace.

Side of the hand,

For now I remind myself.

Top of the head,

That who I truly am.

Eyebrow,

Through even the most radical change.

Under the eye,

And on this dramatic stage of life.

Under the nose,

Who I am remains untouched.

Chin,

I simply get to play out a fresh role.

Over the heart,

Rewritten,

To suit what I now wish to experience,

Express,

And portray.

I embrace the change that will come.

A deep,

Deep breath in,

And a deep breath out.

Then release the tapping,

Invite your hands to rest in your lap.

You may take a moment to just sit quietly if you wish,

Or to hold yourself,

To just listen and feel how this experience landed within you.

And only when you're ready,

There's no rush,

You can begin to open your eyes,

And transition back into the room that you're in.

Back into the day,

The time spent ahead of you,

Back into whatever change you're walking towards.

Knowing that at any moment that you need to wish to return to this practice,

It will be here waiting for you.
