Namaste and welcome to this relaxing visualization which will offer you the opportunity to rest and restore your body and mind as you connect energetically through the traditional symbolic colours of the seven primary chakras.

Chakras are energy centres that are located within your energy body known as the pranamayakosha.

Pranamayakosha is the universal energy that pervades every part of our world and our being and pranamayakosha translates as the body that feeds on prana.

Our chakras play an important role in our health and wellbeing and visualising the symbolic colours that have been assigned to each of these energy centres helps us to stimulate and balance these chakras.

So ideally this practice can be done lying down although if you prefer you can be seated in a comfortable chair with the back straight and the body well supported.

If you are lying down you can choose any position that works for you however the best if it is comfortable for you position to be lying in is on your back and then you can allow your legs to stretch away from you and your ankles to rotate so that your feet are pointing slightly outwards and this just helps to relax the lower back.

Have your arms lying by your side not touching your body with your palms facing up.

Gently move your head from side to side two or three times to release any tension in the neck and shoulders.

Bringing the head back to centre still now resting with the chin tucked slightly down the lips parted and the tongue resting gently against the lower front teeth.

Your head smooth,

Cheeks soft.

Just be in the moment.

Here nobody wants anything from you.

You can just be here now.

Release and let go.

Let go of any current concerns.

They can be left outside of the room and if you choose to you can always pick them up again later.

So now take a long deep breath in through your nose and then breathe out through your mouth sighing the breath out.

Take another deep breath in through the nose and feel your chest expanding as it fills with air and then again sigh out the breath and notice your body beginning to soften.

Do this twice more feeling any tension in your body draining away from your body and into the space around you.

And now allow the breath to return to its natural rhythm.

Breathing in through the nose and out through the nose.

Feel the weight of your body sinking further down into the floor.

Soft,

Heavy,

Calm and relaxed.

Be aware of how your body feels.

Normally we are so busy doing things and thinking about things that we're not really aware of how the body feels.

So let go of any remaining tension now.

Let it just drain away as you continue to breathe rhythmically and deeply feeling relaxed and peaceful.

You become aware that you're standing in a field of brilliant red poppies.

As you look around you,

You realise that all you can see is a warm,

Rich,

Deep,

Comforting red.

You breathe in deeply,

Breathing in the scent of the flowers and smelling the colour red.

As you make your way through the field,

You notice you feel safe and secure,

Grounded and connected to the earth.

And as you reach the edge of the field,

You notice that it's bordered by another field of different flowers.

And as you step into the field,

You see that it is full of vibrant orange marigolds.

The petals on these little flowers are wide open to the sun,

Like little orange faces.

And you realise that now all you can see in every direction is the vivid colour orange.

It is almost as if you can taste the colour orange.

You feel creative and balanced,

Alive and joyful.

You walk along to the edge of the field and step into another field.

And this one is full of beautiful bright yellow daffodils.

The sun is shining down on you and all you can see all around you is the golden yellow of the daffodils.

You feel strong and full of energy,

Powerful,

Brave and focused.

And as you continue to walk,

The field of daffodils is replaced by a green grassy meadow.

You decide to sit for a while on the soft and void biting grass.

You look around you and feel the beauty of nature all around you.

Breathing in deeply,

Smelling the summer smell of the grass and placing your hands on this carpet of green,

Feeling the slight prickliness of the grass against your skin.

As you sit peacefully,

You feel trusting,

Open and grateful for all that you have in your life.

The warmth of the sunshine persuades you to lie down and you feel the softness of the earth beneath the grass and hear the sounds of the birds singing nearby.

You look up to the sky and see that it's a beautiful summer blue.

There are no clouds at all and as you breathe in the fresh summer air,

You feel completely at one with who you are,

Your own relaxed authenticity and your ability to express yourself.

You doze in the sunshine and when you awake,

You notice that the sun has set and that the sky is becoming darker.

You are warm and relaxed in this beautiful place and you have all the time in the world.

Lying peacefully in the meadow,

You watch as the sky gradually becomes darker until the day fades into evening and then the evening into darkness.

The night sky is now a beautiful indigo,

Inky purple black in colour and as you watch the sky above you,

You allow your mind to become free of thoughts,

To open up to the infinite number of possibilities your life represents.

One by one,

Stars begin to appear,

Shining with a brilliant white light,

Some very bright,

Some less so,

Some appearing to be very big,

Others smaller and as you gaze at the wonder of the sky above you,

You realise that right now is all there is.

All that has happened is gone and all that will happen has yet to be decided.

You feel safe and secure,

Grounded and connected to the earth.

Feeling creative and balanced,

Alive and joyful.

Feeling strong and full of energy,

Powerful,

Brave and focused.

Being trusting,

Open and grateful for all that you have in your life.

Feeling completely at peace with your ability to express yourself.

Your mind free of thoughts,

Open to all possibility.

Just being in this place.

Feeling warm and comfortable,

Safe and relaxed.

And now it's time to leave this place and you're not concerned as you know that you can return here whenever you want to,

Allowing the image of the night sky to leave you,

Letting it fade away.

Beginning to release yourself from this meadow,

Coming back into your present moment surroundings and being aware of the surroundings.

The contact of your body against whatever is supporting it.

Beginning to notice the sounds around you.

And taking in a long deep breath,

Filling the lungs with air.

Exhaling slowly,

Feeling a sense of gratitude for your practice,

For your relaxed body and calm mind and sharing that gratitude with the world around you.

And now bringing your awareness down to your hands and feet and beginning to slowly move your fingers and toes.

Perhaps circling the wrists and ankles.

And then raising your arms back over your head,

Pointing the toes away and then towards the body,

Stretching out through the whole of your body from the tips of the fingers to the tips of the toes.

Bring the arms back down beside the body and if you're lying on the floor,

You can bend your knees,

Bringing them in towards your chest and wrap the arms around the legs and rock gently from side to side.

And then rolling over onto the side and pausing there.

And when you're ready,

Opening the eyes and gently coming up into a sitting position.

And if you wish,

You can bring your hands together at the heart centre in front of the chest,

Dipping the chin down towards the chest.

Recognising this moment that you've given yourself.

Peace,

Peace,

Peace.

One of my favourites of Sarah’s - such a lovely way to visualise the colours of the chakras.
