Hello and welcome.
My name is Sarah and I'm a psychotherapist and meditation teacher in Brisbane,
Australia.
This meditation is designed to help soothe and comfort your fears and worries.
Let us begin.
Please ensure that you are either sitting or lying down in a relaxed state.
Close your eyes and start tuning inwards.
Simply notice the sensations in your body.
Start getting curious about your internal world.
Approach your internal state from a place of curiosity and compassion.
What are you experiencing?
Is there tension?
Tightness?
Tingling or pain?
Is there a feeling of restlessness,
Uneasiness or fear?
Or perhaps you're feeling tired,
Fatigued and overwhelmed?
Whatever the case may be,
I'd like you to observe with curiosity and compassion.
Try not to get caught up in any mental narratives.
Instead,
See if you can deepen your breathing without force and without effort.
Simply notice where your breath begins and where your breath ends.
Where does your chest or your belly rise and fall?
See if you can simply be with whatever that is currently happening inside your body.
Remember that you are safe.
The narratives of our survival brain are simply in need of comfort,
Soothing and calming.
It's okay to experience fear,
Anxiety and worry.
However,
You don't need to fix anything in this moment.
Simply relax in the knowing that you are safe.
Repeat in your mind,
I am safe.
I am safe.
Our survival brain is always in a state of rush,
Urgency and a need to be in control.
Simply observe it as a fearful child in need of your comfort and in need of your love.
Let go of all judgement.
Just breathe.
Focus on the cool air coming in through your nostrils and the warm air coming out of your nostrils.
Simply notice how good it feels to breathe.
Notice how there's very little you have to do to breathe.
Notice how the intelligence in your body takes over as you simply slow down and observe.
Keep breathing.
Inhaling and exhaling.
Keep deepening your breath without force and without effort.
It feels good to breathe.
Repeat that in your mind.
It feels good to breathe.
Now see if you can repeat the following sentences in your mind.
I have the ability to become calm and still as I allow myself to breathe.
I am choosing to be at peace with what happened,
What is happening and what will happen.
Clarity of mind is available to me.
I surrender to a greater plan beyond my understanding.
There are positive outcomes I am not yet aware of.
My point of power is always in the present moment.
I trust the process of life.
I am at home in my body.
It is safe for me to let go and surrender to the unknown.
It is safe for me to feel my emotions and to let go.
Relax.
Breathe.
Just breathe.
Envision yourself in a relaxed,
Calm,
Desired state.
Know that you are held by life.
You are safe.
Relax.
