Continuing on in this series utilizing landscape as place, this 20-minute meditation guides us into feeling the attention and the breath as one thing. We work with thoughts and sensations coming and going, allowing ourselves to return the breath in the spaces between and find peace with the coming-and-going nature of the mind.

Then Feel your base.

Feel where the body is connected to the ground.

Some lightness in the open chest.

The crown of the head going upwards.

Go to where you feel the breath behind the navel or in the chest or just outside the nostrils.

For a moment,

Just bring your attention to the feeling of the breath.

Allowing the body to respond to the act of going to the breath.

Allowing the body to respond to the act of going to the breath.

You're situating yourself in a landscape where other things are happening.

Where there's other sounds.

There's air around you.

There's sensation in the body.

There's thoughts coming in and out.

Allow the breath to come into the foreground.

The breath is the space between each individual tree.

The mist that rises up on the water.

It's a part of you.

It's a part of what's in front of you.

Allow the ripples of thought,

Of sound to come in and to go out.

Let the breath remain in the foreground.

Part of your steady seat.

Part of your body.

Part of your body.

What does it feel like to allow thought to come into the foreground?

To allow thoughts to come in like water?

To allow them to keep moving like water?

Not solid.

Not something to stand on.

Not something to be moved by the same breath that breathes you.

Not something to be moved by the same breath that breathes you.

Not something to be moved by the same breath that breathes you.

Not something to be moved by the same breath that breathes you.

Not something to be moved by the same breath that breathes you.

Not something to be moved by the same breath that breathes you.

Not something to be moved by the same breath that breathes you.
