Cultivate equanimity by meditating on affirmations: May I be with things as they are. May I accept myself exactly as I am. May I remain steady as the world around me changes. May I meet each moment exactly as it is.

Taking a few deep breaths.

Letting the shoulders drop away from your ears.

Unclenching the jaw.

Noticing where your body meets the floor,

Your chair,

Whatever you're sitting on.

Allowing yourself to really relax and soften into be held by that support.

Choosing your inner resource,

Your home base to rest your attention might be on your breath.

Might be on sounds or sensations in your body.

Take a moment to choose your anchor.

Cultivating concentration.

Noticing thoughts as they arise but letting them go.

This settled more or less steady play.

I invite you to bring to mind a time,

A situation,

A scenario where you felt equanimity.

Even for a brief moment.

Time where you really felt at ease and at peace with your surroundings.

If nothing readily comes to mind,

Bring into your imagination someone you know who you would describe as the quantumist.

And hold their energy in your mind.

Use this memory in your body.

The sensations in your chest,

Your face,

Your shoulders.

As your mind wanders,

It's not a problem.

You bring back that memory,

That felt sense of evenness.

Choosing this as our base,

Start to call in more equanimity.

These phrases,

You can repeat them out loud to yourself if you like.

Softly in your mind.

May I be with things exactly as they are.

May I accept myself exactly as I am.

Things are as they are.

I am as I am.

May I find balance.

May I remain steady amidst constant change.

May I experience great joy whenever it is present.

May I let it go freely when it leaves.

May I be the present moment exactly as it is.

Things are as they are.

May I accept and love myself exactly as I am.

Once again,

Bringing attention back into your body.

Exhaling this even-minded spaciousness.

It's just a little in any degree.

Acknowledge this equanimity.

Allow to nurture it.

Allow it to grow.

Just a moment.

I'll invite the bell to ring.

You can end this meditation whenever you're ready.
