Hello,
This is Sarah Ritchie here to share a meditation with you coming from Orangeville,
Ontario.
Allow yourself to just settle into your chair or laying down on your mat,
Someplace that's comfortable and helps you to feel at ease.
Allow yourself to nestle in,
To wrap yourself up in the safety of this moment.
And begin to just follow your breath as it comes in and goes out.
Allow yourself to connect to this moment,
To the sensations in your body,
The sounds that you hear.
Allow this moment to be whatever it is.
No need to change it.
No need to be or do anything.
Just allow yourself to begin to connect to your true self,
Your deepest nature,
Which is stillness.
Take a nice long,
Slow,
Deep breath in with me.
And exhale fully.
And take another nice,
Long,
Slow,
Deep breath in.
And let that one go.
Years ago,
I went to see an elder searching out my native roots.
We had an amazing meeting,
Connecting,
Smudging,
Sharing stories.
And during that meeting,
That elder gifted me an eagle feather.
Now in the native tradition,
To receive your eagle feather is a great honor.
It's the sign of someone who's here to help,
To bring teaching and healing to the world.
And I was in awe.
And that lovely elder said to me,
Go and use this feather for healing.
Use it for helping others.
And he sent me on my way.
And a week later,
I contacted him because I thought I would get assistance in how to use the feather.
And yet the response I received remained a mystery.
For many years,
I waited.
I waited.
I waited for a sign,
How to use that feather,
How to use the gift of the eagle to soar above,
How to trust myself with the teachings that I had not been raised with.
Until finally one day I realized,
We are the ones that we've been waiting for.
Linda Hogan,
A Native American poet and author said,
Walking,
I am listening to a deeper way.
Suddenly all my ancestors are behind me.
Be still,
They say.
Watch and listen.
You are the result of the love of thousands.
Taking this moment to fill yourself up with the love of thousands of your ancestors,
Of all of those on the planet who are supporting you on this journey,
Who are supporting all of us.
One day I finally gained the courage to bring that eagle feather to work with me and began to use it for healing,
Trusting myself,
Trusting my own intuition,
Allowing the energy of the great eagle to soar through me.
Taking a nice long,
Slow,
Deep breath in with me,
Soar now.
Allow yourself to see things from that higher perspective,
Trusting in our universal path,
In our oneness,
Knowing that we are the ones that we've been waiting for.
And this is the time to go within,
To hear the voices that come from this stillness.
Begin to watch your breath.
Witness and listen.
Feel your body begin to relax and ease.
Allow yourself to follow your breath and to drop into stillness.
Allowing yourself to follow today the mantra,
Stillness,
Stillness,
Stillness,
Stillness.
Allow yourself to repeat the mantra effortlessly and softly within,
Allowing it to just drift up,
Rising up from deep within your soul,
Stillness,
Stillness,
Stillness.
And as you allow the mantra to repeat,
Just listening for it,
You may notice that there are sounds in the environment around you,
Sensations in your body,
Or thoughts.
Just know that that's perfectly normal.
That's the sign of a good meditation.
Readjust,
Readapt as we are so readily able to do.
And allow yourself to gently and softly draw your awareness back to your mantra,
Your mind and your vehicle,
Stillness,
Stillness,
Stillness,
Stillness.
Wouldn't you!
Stillness.
You can stop repeating the mantra and just allow yourself to sit in the stillness and the silence,
Listening to the sound of your heartbeat and knowing that you are the one that you've been waiting for.
Take a nice long,
Slow,
Deep breath in with me.
And exhale.
Take another nice breath like that.
And release.
Allowing yourself to settle into the present moment,
Knowing that we are the ones we've been waiting for,
That this is a time to go within,
To access the stillness that will guide us in our dream of the planet.
Remember to keep watching your breath,
To keep listening to your heart.
And I look forward to sharing with you again.
Once again,
This is Sarah Bache.
