Two minute pause.

This exercise is a suggested short pause that you can do at your desk.

There is no goal but to be the observer in the present moment of your inner world.

The exercise is useful because it helps you to gain insight about how you are feeling,

It assists you in identifying what is on your mind and gives you some space before moving into the next doing activity.

So let's start.

Begin by sitting in your chair and turn your gaze down.

If possible close your eyes,

Whatever is more comfortable.

Turn your attention inwards.

Notice your body sitting in the chair.

Take your time to breathe in from your head all the way down to your toes.

Explore the sensations that may be present.

Be aware of your emotional tone and what you are feeling.

Begin all the time just breathing in and breathing out.

Notice what kind of thoughts are arising in the moment.

Be gentle with yourself and remember not to criticize any thoughts.

Take your attention,

Expand now to the sounds around you.

Slowly open your eyes,

Let your awareness expand from within to the full room around you.

Take in the wider experience of yourself sitting in your chair in the room.

And as you end the short exercise you might want to thank yourself for taking the short pause.

Very nice little break. It is also conducive to further meditation and relaxation. I like it a lot.

Excellent. This was enough to make me realise how wound up I was about something I have no control over in the present moment. My good wishes to you. ❤️
