You won't be surprised to see the word gratitude in one of my everyday mindfulness techniques.
The power of gratitude is amazing at bringing us back to the present moment and really creating a nice heartwarming feeling.
So with a gratitude snapshot,
What you're going to do is you're going to take a moment to kind of step back from yourself as if you were looking down on yourself and the scene around you.
I particularly like to do this one when I'm in a group of people,
Whether that's a meeting or sat on the sofa with family,
Particularly if it starts to feel a bit tight,
Right?
We all know that tight chest feeling.
And what you do is you step back and you look at the scene,
Right?
With yourself in it and you just name some things that you're grateful for in that moment.
Chair you're sat on,
The people you're with,
The environment in your job,
Whatever it might be.
And then a little bonus round is that if you are in a room with people,
Because you don't have to do this in a room with people,
You can do it at any moment,
Any time.
But if you are,
Look at each of those individual people and share one thing you love about them.
Now,
That can sometimes be difficult and challenging because we have challenging co-workers and bosses and family members,
But there's often one little thing we can pull out.
Maybe it's the way they dress or the way they raise their kids or the fact that they didn't yell at you today.
Just go around and have a little heart moment,
Have a little moment of gratitude for them and something you love.
Give it a try and if you have any questions,
You know you can always reach out to me.
