Welcome.

Welcome to this deep journey that we call Yoga Nidra.

Yoga Nidra is generally done lying down on the floor or even on your bed.

If you're not comfortable lying down,

Feel free to sit in a chair or come into any position that feels comfortable to you.

I invite you to use cushions,

Bolsters,

Pillows,

Blankets to make yourself more comfortable.

And an eye pillow over your eyes might be very soothing and calming for your nervous system.

None of these props are required.

The only thing that's required is that you find a comfortable position.

Make any final adjustments and come to stillness.

For the next period of time,

I invite you to allow my words to become your words as we enter this meditative journey together.

We're going to begin with the body scan.

As I mentioned a part of the body,

You don't have to do anything.

Just bring your awareness to that part of the body.

This is a systematic cycling through the body which allows the mind to settle and the body to come into even deeper relaxation.

Bring your awareness into your mouth.

Become aware of any sensations inside your mouth.

Is there tingling,

Vibration,

Warmth,

Moisture?

Become aware of the lips,

The tongue.

And then bring your awareness to the eyes.

Notice any sensations in the eyes.

Perhaps the sensation of the eyelids resting over the eyes.

And now let your awareness come to the left thumb.

Become aware of any sensations inside the left thumb.

Bring your awareness to the left index finger and feel or sense your left index finger.

Is it possible to sense or imagine the space between the left thumb and the left index finger?

And now can you include the space inside the left thumb and the left index finger along with the space between the left thumb and the left index finger?

The left middle finger,

Left ring finger,

The pinky finger on the left hand.

Sense or feel all the fingers on the left hand.

Become aware of the skin on the back of the left hand and the skin on the palm of the left hand.

Can you sense or feel the space between all the space inside the whole left hand,

Including the space inside all the fingers of the left hand?

And can you also include the space between the fingers of the left hand?

Become aware of the left wrist,

Left forearm,

Left elbow,

Left upper arm,

The left shoulder.

Become aware of the whole left arm from the shoulder to the elbow,

To the wrist,

To the fingertips.

Sense the whole left arm and all the space contained within the left arm.

Bring your awareness to the space under the left arm,

The left armpit,

The center of the chest,

The left side of the chest,

Left waist,

Left buttock,

Left hip,

The left thigh,

Left knee,

The left knee,

Calf,

Left ankle,

Sole of the left foot,

Top of the left foot,

All the toes on the left foot,

Left big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

Fifth toe,

The whole left foot,

The whole left leg,

The left arm and the left leg together,

The left side of the body.

Bring your awareness to the right thumb.

Become aware of any sensations inside the right thumb,

The right index finger and all the space contained within the right index finger.

Is it possible to imagine the space between the right thumb and the right index finger?

Can you sense or imagine the space between the right thumb and the right index finger and include the space inside the right thumb and the right index finger at the same time?

Right middle finger,

Right ring finger,

Pinky finger of the right hand.

Become aware of the skin on the back of the right hand and the skin on the palm of the right hand and all the space between the right wrist,

Right forearm,

Right elbow,

Right upper arm,

The right shoulder,

The whole right arm,

The right armpit,

The center of the chest,

The right side of the chest,

Right waist,

Right buttock,

The right hip,

Right thigh,

Right thigh,

Knee,

Calf,

Ankle,

The right foot,

Right big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

Fifth toe,

The sole of the right foot,

The top of the right foot,

The whole right foot,

The whole right leg,

Right arm and right leg together.

The right side of the body,

The left side of the body,

The right side of the body,

The left side of the body,

The whole body.

Sense the whole body together.

The neck,

The throat,

The chin,

The back of the head,

The upper lip,

The lower lip,

Both lips.

The roof of the mouth,

The insides of the cheeks,

The tongue,

The bottom of the mouth.

Allow your awareness now to travel through the ear canals into the inner ears.

Become aware of the left ear,

The right ear,

Both ears,

The nose,

Perhaps the sensation of the breath inside one or both nostrils,

Both cheeks,

The left cheek,

The right cheek,

Both eyes.

Become aware of any sensations inside the eyes.

Can you sense or imagine the space between the eyes?

Bring your awareness to the forehead and the top of the head,

The entire body,

The entire body.

Is it possible to sense or imagine the space inside the forehead?

Can you imagine,

Feel or sense the space between the forehead extending to the back of the head,

The space inside your own brain?

Is it possible to imagine the space inside your sinus cavities?

Can you imagine the distance between the eyes?

Now become aware of the sounds around you.

Let them be there.

Allow your mind to empty of anything it no longer needs to hold on to.

Let it go,

Flow out and away.

Allow your body to release anything it no longer needs.

Let it go,

Let it flow out and away.

Draw your energies back home to your center.

Begin to sense the space around you.

Breathe with the space around you and become aware of the rise and fall of your breath.

Breathe down to where the weight of your body rests on the ground.

And then let your awareness come to your root,

Your base chakra at the root of the spine,

Your chakra of belonging.

Breathe into your root.

Imagine it softening and gently expanding on your breath.

Muladhara chakra.

Connected to the adrenal gland and the adrenal medulla,

The fight,

Flight or freeze response.

Allow your root to connect down,

Down to the earth below and invite in or imagine the color red,

The color of the earth.

Bathe your root with red,

Empowering,

Embodying,

Grounding you in the here and now.

Let your root take what it needs and silently say the words,

I am here.

I have a right to be here as I am.

The earth supports me.

You might ask,

Is there anything I need to know?

Or how can I be even more secure,

Grounded and stable?

And now allow your awareness to move up to your belly just below your navel.

To the second chakra,

To your Hara.

Svadhisthana chakra,

Your chakra of emotional intelligence,

Choice,

Creativity,

Movement and pleasure.

Connected to the sexual glands and the hormones.

Breathe into your Hara.

Let it gently soften and expand on your breath.

Taking in nourishment and life force energy.

Invite in the color orange,

The color of the setting sun.

Bathe your Hara with orange,

Balancing,

Empowering,

Motivating.

Let your Hara,

Your energy center be fed and say the words,

I honor my needs.

I allow myself to be nourished.

Ask how can I be more open,

More free,

More balanced?

And now move your awareness up to the soft area below your breastbone,

The solar plexus,

Your chakra of personal power.

Connected to the pancreas and the outer adrenals,

Manipura chakra.

Breathe,

Allowing your solar plexus to soften and expand on your breath.

Invite in the color yellow,

The color of sunshine.

Bathe your solar plexus with sunshine,

Yellow sun.

Replenishing,

Restoring,

Nurturing.

Let your solar plexus take what it needs.

You might say the words,

I value myself.

I am enough.

I am enough.

You might ask,

Where is my strength?

Where is my power?

When you're ready,

Bring your awareness to the center of your chest,

To your heart,

Your heart center,

Anahata,

Your chakra of self-development and unconditional love.

Connected to the thymus,

To the immune system and the endocrine system.

Gently breathe into your heart,

Letting it soften and expand on your breath.

And invite in green,

The color of spring.

Bathe your heart center with nourishment,

Renewal,

Healing.

Let your heart,

Anahata,

Take what it needs.

I am greatly loved.

I allow myself to give and receive love freely.

I am nourished by the power of love.

You might ask,

Who do I need to forgive?

Myself?

Someone else?

And bring your awareness up to your neck,

To your throat,

Your chakra of self-expression and personal will.

Visuddhi connected to the thyroid gland.

Allow your throat center to soften,

Expand and breathe.

Inviting in blue,

The color of sky,

The color of clear blue sky.

Breathe sky into your throat center,

Clearing,

Opening,

Softening the need for control,

Freeing self-expression,

Creativity.

Let your throat take what it needs.

And say the words,

I hear and speak my truth.

I express myself freely.

I allow myself to go with the flow of life.

You might ask,

What do I need to say,

To express,

To communicate?

When you're ready,

Take your focus up to your forehead,

Between your eyebrows and your eyes.

The third eye center,

Ajna chakra,

Your chakra of wisdom and intuition connected to the pituitary gland.

Invite in indigo,

The color of midnight sky.

Bathe your third eye,

The Ajna chakra with indigo,

Deep midnight blue,

Soothing,

Balancing,

Bringing clarity,

Insight and understanding.

Everything is unfolding as it should.

What do I need to see?

What do I need to realize?

What do I need to be aware of?

Moving up to the top of your head,

To your crown,

Your crown chakra,

The chakra of oneness,

Sahasrara chakra,

Connected to the pineal gland.

Gently invite in a light violet,

Softly bathing your crown,

Sahasrara chakra,

Balancing,

Restoring,

Harmonizing.

I am one with the universe.

I am one with the whole.

I am one with all that is.

What is the wisdom from my higher self?

And then take in your whole body,

Encompassing all the chakras,

Encompassing the entire spine from the root all the way up to the crown of the head.

Back to the ebb and flow of your breath,

Back to your center.

You might say the words,

I am whole.

I am perfect just as I am.

Allow the energy of these words to bathe your body,

Your mind,

Emotions,

Spirit.

Become aware of the air on the surface of your body.

Become aware of sounds around you,

Near and in the distance.

And slowly with infinite care,

Begin to reawaken your body.

Perhaps by deepening the breath,

Perhaps by making small movement,

Stretches,

Wiggles.

Become aware of the support beneath you.

Notice how you feel.

Hold yourself with loving kindness for the beautiful,

Unique being that you are.

As you begin to reawaken from your session of yoga nidra,

Your healing session of chakra balancing,

Take with you the message,

I am perfect just the way I am.

I am whole.

I am complete.

I am one with all that is.

Thank you for sharing your practice with me.

Namaste.

Jai Bhagwan.

This healing meditation is exactly what I need right now I love the combination of body relaxation and chakra balancing. I've been using it to fall asleep and most times I'm asleep before the end! My only wish is that this exact meditation was re-recorded as there is a bit of stumbling over words. At first, this isn't a problem but as you listen to it more and more, you start to anticipate it and it's distracting to my meditation. Thank you for this wonderful meditation!
