This is a practice to let go and release what is no longer serving you.
When you're going through a transition,
This practice can support you on a daily basis,
To assist you to step into positive new beginnings.
Letting go is an important part of the cycle of life.
We have the creation stage,
The maintenance stage,
And the dissolution.
Things naturally come to an end or transition into something different,
So new beginnings can come in.
There can be times that you make a conscious choice to initiate a period of change,
And then there are times when change happens to you,
And you can be left feeling unsure of where to turn next.
Either way,
Moving through transition requires a release of the old.
As humans,
Though,
We often have a desire to hang on to what was,
Even though it doesn't serve us anymore in this stage of our lives.
So this practice invites you into trust and surrender,
That when one door closes,
It is opening you to something new,
Even if you might not know what that is yet.
During the meditation,
You'll be invited to release what is no longer of benefit.
This could be a situation in your life,
A person,
A place,
A job,
But it also could be a thought form or habit that holds you back,
So you can bring in new beginnings and new positive possibilities,
Opportunities,
And outlooks.
Take a moment to get comfortable,
Making any last-minute adjustments.
Close down your eyes,
Or have the gaze soft and downward.
Invite yourself into your space,
And feel your sit bones on the chair or the ground.
Giving yourself this connection to a place of stability and support,
A sense of connecting you to the earth.
Have your neck long and in line with your spine,
And lift up slightly through the crown of your head,
Creating a spaciousness through each vertebrae.
Tuck your chin gently.
Allow your shoulders to drop back and down,
So you're open through your front body,
Your chest and your heart,
Creating a posture of centeredness,
Presence and openness.
Your body at ease and steady.
I invite you to place a hand over your heart,
Tuning in and listening to your own inner wisdom.
What needs to release and let go?
What is no longer serving you?
Acknowledge whatever comes up without judgment.
Have the intention that through this practice,
You're sowing the seed of this release.
Come to your body.
We often tighten up through the physical body when we know we want to let go.
You might want to hang on.
What you're releasing could have served you well at some point in your life.
Invite this to begin to soften now.
Letting go,
Starting through your physical body.
Inviting the larger muscles of your back to soften around your spine.
Let your arms and legs be at ease.
Release through your belly and allow it to be soft.
Smooth your brow.
Loosen through your jaw.
Allowing yourself to soften.
Having the intention to let go with love,
Grace and gratitude.
You might even like to say a silent thank you for what you are releasing.
Bring awareness to your breath.
Then let your breath deepen.
Allow it to become slower.
Your breath is a representation of life.
You have to let one breath go for the new breath to come in.
Just like the cycles in your life.
When you exhale,
You are releasing and letting go.
Creating space for the new to arrive.
On the inhale,
You're bringing that new fresh vital life force in.
On each exhale,
I invite you now to quietly say in the mind the word release.
Breathing in that life force energy.
Breathing out,
Release.
Breathing in vitality.
Breathing out,
Release.
Each exhalation,
Release,
Release,
Release.
As you do this,
See or sense that you're letting go of any stuck or stagnant energy that you might be holding.
When something ends,
It creates space for new opportunities and new ways of being.
Bringing you more into alignment with who you want to be.
I invite you to think of a color that represents that fresh new energy.
One that feels light,
Positive and joyful.
Breathe that color in on the inhale.
Let it flow through your body,
Feeling the space you've created by letting go.
While continuing to repeat in the mind the word release on the exhale.
Inhale,
Bring in that new color.
You could also experience it as a feeling.
Inviting it to move through all the cells of your body.
Bringing in a fresh vitality.
It clears away any dullness,
Any fatigue on the exhale.
Bringing clarity and focus to your mind and radiance to your body.
Inhale,
Drawing in that vibrancy.
Exhale,
Release.
Letting go of the word release and focusing now on that color.
Letting it expand within you.
Feeling all that space you've created.
And inviting that lightness to flow through your entire being.
You are luminous.
I invite you to bring your hands over your heart.
Feel that aliveness within you.
This is a new day.
It is filled with possibility.
And you can either simply listen or repeat out loud after me.
I grow and expand with each new day.
I know that new possibilities and opportunities are open to me now.
I trust in the flow of life.
Taking those words in.
Begin to take some gentle movement in any way that feels right for you.
You may like to roll your shoulders back and down again.
Opening your heart,
Opening and receptive to all that is to come.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes.
