
Altered State, Shamanic, And Alkaline Breath Work

This is a guided altered states breathwork session. Begin with a balanced breath to work priming for CO2 tolerance. Then we move to an activating sequence that involves 3 rounds of DMT Activating / Alkaline breath, Shamanic Breath technique, and ending with a Super Ventilation Breath Work. Each round ending with a breath-hold and retention starting at 1-minute and working up to 2 minutes. The background music is the local singing cicadas, water drum, flute, and singing bowls.

Welcome to another breathwork session.
Today's breathwork session is designed to be more of an altered state or a super ventilative breath.
For today's practice I would recommend you either have someone sitting with you or that you let someone know that you're doing breathwork so that they can just keep it keep an eye on you.
Today is it's safe but I want you to feel as though that if you feel kind of funny or a little different in your body that you have someone to rely upon to maybe sit with you or to just monitor.
If you feel as though your nervous system is on overload and you take a break you're welcome to do that stopping the breath and moving into the breath that we're going to start with which is just a balanced breath.
You can move to that breath at any time during today's practice.
So we're gonna move into something called the balanced breath which is just gonna be five counts in five counts out and then we'll have a hold at the end maybe moving into something called five seven nine where we extend that but you also then will have a reset and we'll move into the more alkaline breaths with DMT activation shamanic breath and a super ventilative breath with breath holds.
To arrive in this practice just simply take a breath in and release.
You can really as many of these as you need just breathing in expanding maybe near the belly and the ribs and then slowly releasing.
Begin to notice the quality of the breath begin to notice if it is uncomfortable to breathe in through your nose how it feels as it expands through your ribs and being present as you release the breath almost feeling the heart rate slowing as you release the breath.
Now I'm gonna move us more into a methodical count here so just taking your breaths in when you get to your next inhale I want you to breathe in through your nose for a count of five four three two one now release five four three two one now breathe in five four three two one now release five four three two one now in five four three two one bring it in and release there just keeping that five five rhythm so as you bring it in doing your own counting here just breathing it in through the nose expanding through the ribs the belly making a circular in for five out for five in for five and out for five just being balanced maybe you're closing your eyes here as you lay in your bed or you sit in your chair just feeling that balanced breath no holds just bringing it in and then releasing now as we reach the end of this balanced breath I'm gonna extend it a little bit here so as you take your last exhale so you have your five in five out maybe take a breath in we reset and release now let's extend this just a little bit we're gonna do something that's called the bottom triangle breathe in and slowly release I want you to bring in the breath to your belly for five four three two one now slowly release seven six five four three two one now hold nine eight seven six five four three two and one now breathe in five four three two one now release seven six five four three two one now hold nine eight seven six five four three two one other round breathe in for five release for seven now hold for nine last round breathe in for four for five four three two one now release for seven now hold for nine beautiful take a breath in and now breathing in through your nose only as you expand and release now you can search a release out the mouth if you'd like I'd like for you to maybe bring that your tongue to the roof of your mouth as you breathe in through your nose closing off that airway and as you exhale through the mouth bring it in through the nose and then out through the mouth bringing it in for a count of four three two one now release four three two one now in four three two one now out four three two one bring it in four and out four four in four four and out for four keep moving this rhythm in and out for four counts as I talk to you about our next breath I want you just to continue to breathe in expanding through the belly the ribs the heart we're gonna move into a shamanic breath which is a belly chest and then an exhale belly chest exhale that belly breath is a nose the chest is a sip into an air through the mouth and then it's an exhale moving in this for four take your last exhale here four three two one now belly chest exhale belly chest exhale belly chest exhale belly chest exhale belly chest exhale belly chest exhale one two release one two release one two release belly chest exhale in in out in in out in in out belly chest exhale a couple more rounds like this we're going to move into a ventilative breath which is an in and out with a hold at the end finishing your last one here in belly chest exhale and take a giant breath in one two out one two in one two out one two in one two out one two bring it in through your nose expand the belly the heart and then release circular make it circular coming into the belly the heart chest release in one two out one two keep moving the breath in and out making a circular we're bringing more oxygen in we're creating this gas exchange of NO2 O2 and CO2 we're firing up the nervous system we're finding these neural pathways are lighting up creating this connection to our endocrine system and all points in our brain our mind here are beginning to light up because our electrical system is firing in one two out one two just a couple more here in one two out one two bring it in one two out one two in one two out one two take a giant breath in expand the belly the ribs the heart and slowly release and hold holding in a neutral breath here just being present maybe feeling the sensations in your fingers your toes your hands just a one minute retention but this introspection is what we use in this one minute is just introspection and looking back at yourself like as if you were looking from above or if you were diving deep within the mind not trying to force the hold just being present with it releasing sensations relaxing the shoulders the eyes the eyebrows breathing in in five four three two and giant breath in as you sip it in I want you to squeeze this breath from your perineum down at your pelvis all the way up to your pineal so all the way up to your forehead as we squeeze that intention we bring the awareness and we bring that activation to the pineal gland releasing melatonin DMT and release beautiful first round friends let's move back into our rhythm here back into our DMT or alkaline breath or DMT activation breath so we breathe in through the nose closing it off with the roof of our mouth with our tongue and then out through the mouth so in one two three four and release out the mouth two one in through the nose two three and then out through the mouth two three four all the way in and all the way out now I'm gonna move us a little bit faster on this round as we're getting used to this breath bringing it in two three and out two three bring it in through the nose out through the mouth all the way in two three all the way out two three now we're gonna move into shamanic breath this is the belly chest and then exhale think about sipping it in through your nose and then the mouth and then blowing it all out through the exhale switching in here take a giant breath in and release moving into shamanic breath in belly chest exhale belly chest exhale in in out bring it in in and then exhale belly chest exhale belly chest exhale mouth in out mouth mouth out can be mouth or nose keep moving this breath out nose mouth exhale nose mouth exhale nose mouth exhale we're gonna move into super ventilation breath here all of us together taking a breath in and release one two in one two out one two breathing it in two counts and then out for two counts expanding the ribs expanding the belly expanding the heart and then releasing circular breath bringing it into the body we're activating creating an alkalinity within the body we're activating nervous systems you might be feeling this in your hands your feet the temperature of your skin you're feeling this move through and course through your body embrace it feel it coming and going this is the aliveness this is us going deep within our physiology through our alchemy breathe it in and then release breathe it in and then release feel your body expanding feel it energizing breathing in we have five more breaths here and release four and release three and release two and release here we go taking a giant breath in all the way up and release and hold during in a neutral apnea this neutral apnea means in between the inhale and the exhale not forcing not pushing not changing just being present for a 90 second retention sometimes I hold my heart here sometimes I just hold myself we're moving into and away from the thinking mind into our more emotional mind our limbic system you may start to feel emotions or sensations embrace them I try to change them just be present with them can you sit with this the imagery and the sensations and the feelings you may feel the norepinephrine running through your body still that is that anxiety you may be feeling it is a chemical process it carries messages usually of our past as we release and we relax we move into serotonin in our gut being produced and releasing we also move into the melatonin and we relax these feel the heart rate slowing only about another 10 seconds to go can you sit here present five four three two take a giant breath in hold it at the top squeezing from your pelvis all the way up to the back of your neck around the brain stem all the way through the vagus nerve all the way over to the front of your brain maybe where the space between your eyebrows is holding squeezing and releasing beautiful job friends one more round one more round of this connecting deep within our physiology deep to ourselves let's move back into that DMT activation or the alkaline breath bring it in through the nose and then out through the mouth maybe closing off the airway as you breathe in but with your tongue two three four releasing one two three four bring it in one two three four and then release four three two one all the way in for four counts and then all the way out for four counts just breathing it's not simple by any means it's definitely not an easy task but here we are just breathing going deep within our physiology and we're learning we're getting stronger we're building this practice don't try to make it a perfect practice just one that is yours breathe in and then release breathe in and then release now we're gonna move into shamanic breath remember this is a three-part breath belly chest exhale taking another giant breath in here and let's release moving into shamanic breath belly chest exhale belly chest exhale belly chest exhale bring it into the belly chest and then release in in out belly chest exhale in in out in in out belly chest exhale belly chest exhale belly chest exhale just a couple more come on you can do this breathe in and then release it last one breathe it in in and then out super ventilation in and then out two counts in one two release one two in one two out one two breathe in one two out one two all the way in all the way out keep this breath moving two counts bring it in expanding by using your nose you are hydrating you are filtering you are driving no two into your your respiratory system breathe in through your nose release through the mouth just bring it in expand the ribs the heart the head and then release it as you do this we're tapping into our autonomic nervous system this is deep down below theta and Delta wave this is the deepest part of our subconscious things that work without you even thinking about them but here we are controlling them with your own alchemy breathe in and release in two three out two three bring it in two three out two three five more two three out two three four three in two three out two three two more all the way in all the way out last one here take a giant breath in we're gonna do something a little different bring it all the way in now release it all the way out bring it all the way in and all the way out to a neutral lung and hold holding right here in a neutral state there's a little bit of oxygen in the lungs but know that you've breathed in a lot you have a lot of oxygen in you it's in your blood now it's in your muscles it's in your tissues you have plenty of air the body just wants to breathe more that is its programming to continue to breathe and you start to have this co2 build up the body doesn't have maybe a tolerance for it so it wants to breathe to bring more oxygen into balance the gas ratio now if you feel that go ahead and take a sip in and we'll release or you can move back into that balanced five five breath just being present with the sensations the feelings we're almost at a minute only another minute to go now if you feel like you need to breathe in this last minute please do that rest into it and then take another hold maybe tapping at the space near your heart this will create the awareness there the awareness to the heart coherence this place where we're tapping into not just our heart but our limbic mind where our emotions live we're retraining and reshaping their own pathways new telomeres firing new ways of thinking emerging you are here to receive thought not to think it receive it only about ten seconds left you can do this you can do this be here be a present be present five four three two take a giant breath in hold it at the top squeeze squeeze and then release sitting in this sensations sitting present whatever it is that you feel whatever it is that you see maybe just relaxing into the colors being produced from the pineal gland the DMT being released the melatonin relaxing your body the serotonin bringing you happiness feelings maybe you're giggling or laughing sitting present with those sensations don't try to move or go anywhere quickly if you need to you can move back into the beginning part of this recording doing the balanced breath or the bottom triangle the five the seven and the nine be present with yourself take time to come back into your incarnation your body thank This was absolutely amazing! I loved your encouragement and the energy in your voice. I also appreciated all of the biochemical knowledge you provided, especially the bit about norepinephrine during the hold. Holding my breath is definitely anxiety inducing, yet with your positive coaching, I was able to do the 90 min hold! I had to take in some air for the 2 minute hold, but Iβll be back and with practice, I know I will be able to achieve it. I feel at peace and I am grateful to you and this powerful meditation.
