Hello there,
This is Sandeep from Insight Timer.
Welcome to this meditation session on contentment.
In this session,
Let's do some contemplation on contentment,
Followed by a meditation on contentment.
Let's start by getting into a comfortable posture that works for you.
Take a few moments to adjust your posture and relax your body.
Next,
Let's start by bringing our attention to the breath.
For the first few seconds,
Just observe your breath.
Observe the inhalations and the exhalations.
As you breathe in and breathe out,
Relax your body.
With every breath,
Slow down mentally.
Let your entire attention be on your breath.
Now,
Let's contemplate on contentment.
Contentment is the state of mind where your mind is happily established in the present moment.
That means you are neither yearning for something in the future,
Nor are you worried about the past.
You are peacefully resting in the present moment,
Accepting it just the way it is.
This is a beautiful state to be in.
So,
Feel that you have nothing to worry about from the past or the future.
Just for these few minutes,
Visualize that you have no desires to be somewhere else,
Doing something else.
You are happy right here,
Right now,
Just the way you are.
You may continue to observe your breath,
And with every breath,
Continue to relax,
Continue to surrender to the present moment.
More often than not,
Our mind takes us away from the present into the past or the future.
For these few minutes,
Just try to let go the thoughts,
Let go the urge to think about something that is not here.
It could be a thought about someone.
It could be a thought about something.
Just let it all go and rest in the present moment.
You have nowhere else to go.
You have nothing else to do.
All you have to do is be happily established in the present moment,
Just the way it is.
Continue to be focused on your breath.
Continue to relax your body and just be in the present moment without any longing or thinking.
You are happy right here,
Right now.
You are in a state of contentment.
Now,
Whenever you feel ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to the body.
Wiggle your toes and fingers.
Another inhalation and stretch.
Stretch your neck,
Your back and your shoulders.
Whenever you feel ready,
You can open your eyes or keep your eyes closed for some more time.
Thank you for being here for this meditation session on contentment.
I hope this session helped you to feel better.
I wish you a beautiful day or night.
Hope to see you in another session.
Thank you.
