
Redesigning Anxiety: A Paraliminal Meditation
This meditation uses paraliminal suggestions to enable both the right brain and the left brain to work synchronously as you redesign what anxiety looks and feels like in the body. This meditation is best used with headphones to gain the full effect, and, would be most beneficial during a restful state, such as prior to going to bed. The background music was carefully written to incorporate a 528Hz frequency, aiding in deep restoration down to a cellular level.

This meditation may use the power of suggestion throughout it.
Suggestion to take you into a deeper state of relaxation.
Suggestion to really allow yourself to tie that state of relaxation into the breath.
As you allow yourself to sink deeper and even deeper into this experience of relaxation you may find that you even may drift off to sleep and if you do drift off to sleep the mind will be hearing everything that I say.
So simply allow the sounds to wash over you.
There is no need to remember any of this consciously.
As you drift off following my voice the sounds will do what they need to and they will surround you.
So let's begin by making yourself comfortable.
Finding a space that feels very comfortable for the body whether that's seated or lying down making sure that the environment that you're in is comfortable temperature scent making sure the clothing feels okay in the body nothing is too restrictive and know that as you hear these words and as you become aware of the sounds and the sensations that you notice the sounds and the sensations that you experience you may find yourself already drifting into a deeper state of relaxation finding ourselves exactly are in the moment finding yourself exactly how you are intended to be in this moment but knowing that the breath and the sounds and the experience of everything around you may allow you to sink even deeper into a state of relaxation noticing that gentle rise and fall of the breath and as you're aware of the breath you become more aware of all that you're perceiving in this moment deep levels of perception perception ranging from broad awareness to deep relaxation and the beauty of this time together is that you have nothing to do you have nothing to do in order for relaxation to occur all you need to do is simply watch the rising and the falling of the breath noticing the breath and noticing how the breath feels allowing yourself to safely experience your perceptions your feelings notice the breath as you notice the breath even more the unconscious will take you further into a deeply relaxed state allowing my voice to move with you and through you as you become more and more observe into the experience of the breath as it is moving through the body and as it is absorbed within the body to further deepen the relaxation perhaps we can begin by counting backwards counting backwards beginning at 100 continuing all the way down deeper and deeper 100 99 98 97 96 95 94 it doesn't matter if you get lost or leave a number out just return again and again and again and start again and again and notice that you no longer notice when you lose your place or even when you return to a place because you are becoming more and more absorbed as long as the mind is counting maybe the mind has begun to drift off and you notice that even the body feels as though it is drifting off relaxing in dropping down deeper and deeper still the feeling spreading around the entire body from the top of the head to the tips of the toes relaxation moves throughout the body and as you begin to relax even more deeply you might notice that you feel good really really good in so many different ways already enjoying this new process of learning already encouraging the mind as it finds new ways to experience life and to experience moments and already you notice your life getting better so much better in so many ways you're breathing carries on all by itself and your mind carries on all by yourself and you completely nourish that peace without attaching and each exhale carries out all of the remaining tension and the remaining stress you can notice words and you notice noticing words and you can notice noticing your body can relax you notice your mind can relax and your mind has become very sensitive to the suggestion of relaxation your concerns have softened your worries have softened your fears have softened each breath releases them and we are doing and everything all the action is coming from the unconscious mind and through the unconscious mind you are finding new and exciting ways to enjoy I would like your unconscious mind to find new ways to look at circumstances new ways to notice new ways to achieve all of the positive things that old stress patterns used to do for you that don't involve unnecessary stress in the future perhaps new ways to see how to respond with less fear and less anxiety to circumstances in life the old stress patterns are being released taking time now to find new ways to relieve the stress patterns in life so that in the future you have new ways to feel calmer and to feel happier in the future it's natural for you to feel calm and to feel happy let your mind begin to watch a movie of you handling all sorts of situations in your daily life watch the movie of you handling these situations in a calm and relaxed manner imagine them going perfectly exactly the way you want them to imagine seeing them challenging and how calmly you approach them no matter how things are going you remain at ease when the movie looks really good imagine yourself floating into it into the screen into the movie and feel how good it feels to feel calm and in control as you see everything happening just as it will just as you are breathing through it calm and at ease watching your responses unfold as you want them watching the challenges without control because we cannot control things as they happen but we have an emotional equilibrium that allows us to notice peace with whatever is going on around us circumstances come circumstances go and yet this peace is always with you because you remember that whatever is happening you are always free to find inner peace if you experience stressful feelings you can expand your awareness to include the whole of your body the whole of your inner peace there is always peace within us deep down deeper down below the tension inner peace deep down at the center increasing as the awareness of the body changes as you hear these words you can feel your body as you feel your body you are aware of the position of the body and as you notice that even more you may wonder where you are where you are from and if you wish you can lose that sense of place from where you are drift into the imaginary drift as though you were a simple leaf a leaf floating through the air and landing on a stream carried by a current under a bridge and out deep into a lake drifting and turning mind straightening all the things that are working better now much easier is to feel good and how much more often you notice that you can relax and that relaxation gives you energy and that energy lets you spread out everything you must do each day with a sense of joy because you can always bring calmness to the body and you can bring calmness to the mind and that you do success is a natural part of your life and you can make the changes you need now breathing happens for you from the moment you are born until the moment you die life breathes you and you come along for the ride and you can enjoy here in the present moment that you can release the worries that tie you to the future or the past and feel your breath and allow your breath to remind you that you are alive here and now because your senses remind you of the miracle that you are alive here and now with each moment this miracle is rewarded and renewed you are alive here and now so let your mind remind you of this each time you hear your breath you will understand these words differently because with each breath you bring new knowledge new breath new insight every time you breathe it is here that you recognize that every sign of tension is a sign to let go and as you let go you can become interested even fascinated to discover how much is possible you don't even know consciously yet what the result of these changes will be but in time allowing the breath to move and allowing the breath to connect you to your inner resource then the changes will begin to occur your emotional signals have function part of your intelligence sending messages and as you begin to understand them better they can begin to recalibrate realign allowing you to experience more peace more relaxation as you breathe down breathe down deeper deeper still breathing further down as you learn from the wisdom of your own feelings I'd like you to begin to perhaps dream dream with me now dream of waking up in your future the not-so-distant future your unconscious mind may help you figure out when it might look like next week or perhaps even next month just let your dream dream itself into being dream of a time now that you have all of the inner calm you need a time when you can look back on stress and see that it's been left behind it's been left behind in the past and you notice yourself awakened in this future and all that you see and all that you feel lets you know that all is well the future is exactly as you desire it to be the future is good look around look for the signs of your success the feelings of achievement even contentment the feelings of strength and power as you awaken in your body feel the body awakening to be bigger and more meaningful more meaningful than you ever imagined feel that awakening in the body feel that awakening now feel that awakening now and soak up the inner strength the love the determination feel everything as the unconscious mind begins to notice more and more joyous moments in each day feelings of joy feelings of happiness more and more you begin to notice patterns of happiness and joy even the smallest joys as you notice more joy each day your unconscious mind amplifies that joy and you feel more and more joyful each day because you get more of what you focus on and because you are focusing on gratitude for having more joy and gratitude for having more happiness and gratitude for having more contentment you feel better and better and better as you breathe you feel better you know you're beginning to find it easier to solve problems and face challenges in fact I would like to thank the part of your mind that worries thank it for all the good things that it does for you for helping you and protecting you and I'd like the unconscious mind to now find new comfortable ways to use that part of the mind you might not be aware of what the new ways will be the unconscious mind will check in and ensure that it is safe and that it is comfortable for you and then it will ensure that it integrates it into the breath and integrates it into new ways of being and integrates it into new ways of doing even as you sleep at night you will sleep well and deeply as the process of becoming calmer and healthier and happier continues to process throughout the body and the mind as the imaginative genius part of your mind continues to help you face problems and discover helpful solutions even as you sleep there is an old story about a hunter walking through the jungle he found that your emotional signals we got a way to feel more relaxed he ran over the edge of a cliff and he found that you're able to feel good for no particular reason because your unconscious mind and he could see go on a search now and remember all the times that your other tiger appeared and recreate those and he felt something fall into his face when he saw he saw unconscious mind will trigger those feelings more and more every day so that you naturally look to his right back for no other reason overflowing with honey and then we simply reached out to taste the unconscious mind honey to make it so you will feel better about your life every day because you feel so much calmer so much happier as you begin to find yourself thinking of yourself as a happy resourceful and confident person repeatedly new experiences begin to produce the most wonderful results in your life now i'd like you to imagine that time perhaps several weeks from now when you've been listening repeatedly to this relaxing meditation thinking of yourself in that way and now you're noticing all the wonderful and positive changes in your life what part are you enjoying the most give yourself yourself amplify the feeling of that pleasure because you know that by doing what is good for you you can achieve all of the things that you want your mind is generating creative ways to overcome obstacles because you are a resourceful person who now enjoys challenges as you realize that they make you stronger and wiser and you get value from these achievements because deep within you is more strength more resilience more power than your everyday mind ever imagined and as you breathe and as you sleep you can get to know that inner strength and embody that inner strength and you move deeper and deeper and deeper into the breath and you know how the breath feels in the body maybe so breathe like this the next day the farmer's son tried to walk deep down and the horse threw him in the earth and the neighbors all natural cycle of life and death and rebirth continues without seeking the next week the army merged into this village with the force of the young men into the each moment is an opportunity to appreciate the uniqueness and when the farmer said how the endless flow of life the farmer can be a great said in that flow all suffering you are now even more capable balanced and relaxed soon you will begin to recognize how every manifestation of tension is an invitation to relax and let go you will establish patterns to move from stress to softness every time you bring your awareness to the manifestation of stress the unconscious mind will reinforce every positive thought you ever had about yourself right now because right now all is well it is so important to be well it is so important to be alert it is so important to relax you can suggest to your unconscious mind to let you know very clearly when you may safely relax so that you notice the sweet and soft feeling in the muscles whenever you relax you can let yourself relax down all the way deeper and deeper all the way down into that very deep level that is really needed when you awaken you will awaken with brightness and alertness as you become awake you can find the wish to be active and you will find yourself enjoying that we can all daydream we can all sleep and we can all wake up and we're not sure how we wake up but i encourage you to do so right now as we count ourselves back into the moment refreshed and alert and touch with your inner peace ready to embrace the inner peace within the body beginning to wake up calm and confident 10 9 8 gradually awakening 7
