Because I feel,

And this happened in my own life too,

At one time I felt like a light bulb just about to go out.

I felt invisible in life.

I felt,

I did,

I just didn't feel well and I couldn't figure out what was happening.

So it was coming back to my heart.

It was coming back to what nourishes me on an emotional level and including the food.

I started to feel better again.

So it's just my greatest joy to help people with that,

Rod.

I hear from a lot of women where they feel invisible in their lives.

They don't know who they are when they look in the mirror.

They feel disconnected from that self.

So I feel the heart is that portal,

Is that gateway into reconnecting with that again.

Excellent.

So if you don't mind,

Let's move into,

Let's finish up with a meditation.

How much time do you think we need or how much time are we going to take with this?

I probably think we need at the most four minutes.

I'm still kind of nervous.

I may talk fast,

So it may be less.

Okay,

Well,

Take a deep breath.

Yeah,

Return to ease.

It becomes a mantra,

I think even just saying the word ease.

Yeah.

It seems like there's some powerful coding in it.

I use that as a mantra myself a lot if I'm starting to feel overwhelmed or just go off into the future,

Just saying the word ease.

I can just feel what it creates in my body.

Yeah,

So nice word.

Okay.

Thank you so much,

Rod.

Thanks for having me on.

Thanks for your listeners.

So I wanted to do a meditation about connecting back into your heart,

Your inner GPS system,

This beautiful wisdom that lives inside of you that's available 24-7.

So I want you to take a moment and get comfortable.

You can do this exercise sitting or lying down,

But if you're listening to the podcast and driving,

Hit pause and listen to it later.

So settle into a position that's comfortable.

Feel your body getting heavy.

Sink into your chair if you're sitting.

Sink into the floor if you're lying down.

You might like to gently close your eyes or maybe it's more comfortable for you to keep them softly opened.

See what helps you to relax a bit and feel safe in this moment.

Think about what it feels like to be safe,

Safe inside yourself,

Safe to bring your awareness inside.

In this cocoon of safeness,

Give yourself permission to soften,

Permission to feel.

You might feel this as a releasing of some tension in your muscles,

Perhaps a softening of your jaw.

Allow yourself to let go.

So breathe in and briefly hold and slowly breathe out.

Breathe in and briefly hold and slowly breathe out.

When you're ready,

I'd like you to gently bring your hands to your heart.

Gently place your hands over your heart and direct your attention here.

Feel the strength of your heart as it beats.

Feel the beauty and the miracle that lies within you.

May you even start to feel love coming from your heart into your hands.

Now think of something that makes you outwardly smile.

It can be the image of a treasured child,

A pet,

A partner.

Maybe it's chocolate.

It could be a memory of a hilarious experience where you deeply laughed.

What can you call up in your mind's eye that is delightful and gives you a warm,

Fuzzy feeling?

Once you have this image,

Gently notice what is happening in your physical body.

What's happening across your chest?

What's happening across your heart area?

Do you feel a softening,

An opening of this area?

Are your shoulders relaxing a bit?

As you stay with this loving,

Warm feeling,

Let one word flow into your awareness that could represent this feeling.

We are anchoring this feeling in your body and connecting it to one word so you can quickly call this expansive,

Loving feeling back to you.

This is your baseline feeling for how your heart feels when it is open and receptive.

It can feel expansive.

This feeling is deeply authentic and directly connected to what makes you happy and what is for your highest good.

What keeps you expanded and open?

Everyone is different here.

This is personal to you.

This is your sacred space and yours alone.

So remember this feeling and the words you chose.

Slowly bring your awareness back to the room.

Wiggle your fingers a bit.

Move your feet back and forth.

And as you feel ready,

Open your eyes if they were closed.

Remember what it felt like when your heart was expansive and open,

For you can now use it as a litmus test.

If you begin to feel contracted,

Fearful,

Or anxious across your heart area,

You know that your heart is bringing a warning message to your attention.

It's a signal for you to look deeper and explore what is causing restriction.

Thanks Carolyn,

And I know we said we would end there,

But it occurred to me that maybe you want to say a little bit more about that meditation.

So if you want to give us some instructions,

Some further instructions,

Go ahead.

Thanks Rod.

The instructions was I just shared with you a technique that you can use in your day to day life,

Your inner GPS system.

You could use it to test out any scenario,

Whether it's to go out with a friend after work,

To,

You know,

Is this the time of changing my location?

Nothing's too big or too small for the inner wisdom that lives inside you.

So if you wanted to test a scenario,

For example,

That going out after work and you felt that expansion and that lightness,

Then,

You know,

It feels pretty good to do that.

However,

If you start to feel restricted,

It's your body's inner wisdom telling you there's something here you need to explore.

It doesn't mean it's a no,

But it means that it's that situation is bringing up something inside you that needs to be explored more.

It could be a no,

But it means that you need to go deeper as to why you're feeling restricted.

So it's an early warning system.

You could use that code word you came up with to remember what it feels like to feel expansive and open and receptive and trust your body should you start to feel restricted,

That something is happening currently that's not in your highest good.

It'll never steer you wrong.

It's just such wisdom that lives inside us.

That's all I wanted to say about that.

Nice.

My word was warmth.

Because of Tara Brock,

Like I've listened to her quite a bit and she encourages you to put your hand over your heart.

And man,

It's amazing to me how much that area heats up.

Isn't that amazing?

Yeah.

Yeah.

Just to feel that warmth.

Yeah.

Yeah.

For me,

It's worthy.

Wow.

And just remembering that worthy.

Yeah.

Oh,

That's a good word too.

Yeah,

I like that.

Yeah.

Thanks everyone for listening.

And I love your little warning that if you're driving,

Hit pause and do it later.

So pause and do it later.

Be very grounded when driving.

Thanks,

Carolyn.

Thanks for joining us again.
