This is a throat chakra guided meditation.
The Vishuddha chakra is the fifth chakra and it is our seat of expression,
Healthy communication and truth.
Find a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down.
Gently invite the eyes to close,
The mind to settle and the body to relax.
As you begin to find stillness,
Bring your awareness to your breath.
Notice the gentle rise and fall of your inhales and exhales.
Take a few moments here to connect to your breath,
Following its natural rhythm in and out of the body.
Begin to bring a bit more depth and length to your breath.
Now take a big breath in,
Filling up the belly.
Open your mouth and release the breath with sound.
Do this again,
Big inhale.
Release the breath with sound.
Continue to breathe in this way,
Allowing your breath to sound however comes naturally.
Perhaps it's a quiet H-A sound.
Perhaps it's a louder sigh.
As you continue to breathe in this way,
Tune into the sensation in your throat created by your breath.
Feel that your throat is awakening.
Now gently release this breath,
Allowing your breathing to return to its quiet,
Natural rhythm,
Remaining aware of any sensations in the throat.
With your awareness here at the throat,
Begin to visualize a light blue glow in this space.
See how this sky blue light pulses with your breath.
As you inhale,
Begin to see this light blue glow spreading.
With each in-breath growing a little bit larger,
See as it encompasses your entire neck area,
Moving down into your chest,
Into your arms,
Your hands,
Down into your torso,
Your pelvis,
Into your legs and your feet.
See the blue light spread up into your head,
Filling your entire body,
Connecting with all of the other chakras.
With each in-breath,
This light brings you truth,
Clear expression,
Good listening.
With each out-breath,
Allow the blue light to remove any blockages.
Feel your power of expression and truth grow stronger with each passing breath as you repeat the following phrases to yourself,
Silently or out loud.
I speak my truth freely and openly.
I communicate with ease and confidence.
I am comfortable in silence.
I am an active and compassionate listener.
I am clear.
I am truthful.
I am expressive.
Notice any emotions and feelings that these phrases generate in your body.
Gradually begin to see your sky blue light growing smaller,
Moving back up through the legs and the arms,
Into the torso and the chest,
Seeing it grow gradually smaller until it is a small light at the base of your throat once again.
Bring your awareness back to the flow of your breathing,
In and out.
Notice the natural movement of your belly and chest as you breathe,
In and out.
Become aware of your full body again as it rests on the surface beneath you.
Let yourself become aware of the room again and of any sounds close by.
When you are ready,
In your own time,
Gently open your eyes.
Remember that you have a right to speak your truth as well as the power to tap into it.
