Soothsayers and Sages.
A tale of the second of three hidden keys is written upon these next pages.
As you may already know,
Molly Muse found one of the hidden keys in the far eastern mountains covered in snow.
Act two of the hidden key saga takes place in the dry desert of the west.
A young dreamer named Charlie was ready to embark on this hidden key quest.
Charlie had searched everywhere,
Places both high and low.
After years of research,
Charlie finally believed he knew where the second key was hidden and he was ready to go.
Charlie trekked through the desert using an ancient map to lead.
He packed plenty of food and water.
He had all the supplies he could possibly need.
Charlie was in search of an underground oasis hidden beneath two crossing palm trees.
He was certain that in this oasis he would find one of the two remaining hidden keys.
A perilous journey into the dry desert heat,
Charlie began pushing forward with a power of will and the strength of his two feet.
Days and nights turned into weeks,
Even months,
But Charlie persisted and continued to have faith in his quest.
He knew that he would be rewarded with a hidden key by the end of this arduous test.
One night as Charlie prepared a fire and suitable shelter to sleep,
He saw an old man walking by with a pair of camels and a flock of sheep.
Charlie invited the old man to sit for a while and get warm by the fire.
He offered the old man a seat,
Some water,
And a hot meal to eat.
The old man told Charlie that he had seen him wandering the desert for many days.
He told Charlie he knew what he seeks.
He knows where the hidden key lays.
Charlie said,
How could you possibly know what I am searching for?
And if you did,
Why do you not seek the key hidden underneath the desert floor?
The old man didn't give much of a reply.
He just nodded and smiled,
Then let out a soothing and gentle sigh.
The old man told Charlie that he has seen many people in this desert on a similar quest.
All he had seen have come and gone without reward and with little rest.
The old man told Charlie one last thing before he left for the night.
He told Charlie,
To find what he seeks the most,
He will need to search within himself.
No maps will do.
He must see the vision from inside his heart and then he will know where to pursue.
Charlie stayed up and pondered those last imparting words for another few hours as he sat in meditation by the fire.
Charlie tried to tune into the frequency and magnitude of his heart's utmost desire.
Charlie thought about all of the reasons he seeks this hidden key.
He wondered if there were any signs or messages that he might foresee.
Charlie opened his eyes and saw the sign he was hoping for.
Illuminated in the distance under the radiant glow of the full moon in the night sky,
Charlie saw two crossing palm trees and knew this is the place where a hidden key must lie.
Charlie decided to get some sleep as he figured it would be best.
He wanted to be rejuvenated and get some rest as he would need his strength for the last leg of this quest.
Charlie awoke with the morning's first light.
He had only one thing in mind and the crossing palm trees were in his sight.
After walking all morning,
Charlie finally arrived at the crossing palm trees at noon.
He was excited and anxious with hopes that he would reveal a hidden key soon.
Charlie dug deep in the sand until he uncovered a sealed door.
He was determined and he went inside and continued to explore.
Charlie went through the door which opened to stairs that led deep underground.
Alas,
Charlie was relieved that this mythical underground oasis was found.
Charlie stepped down the spiraling staircase and found himself in an underground cave.
Charlie had no time for fear.
He felt confident and brave.
Charlie could barely see because it was so dark underground.
However,
He could hear what was to be a majestic waterfall's soothing sound.
A light from the distance was suddenly seen.
A fiery torch was carried by a hooded figure adorned in robes of a vibrant color green.
It was that old man he had met last night.
Charlie was surprised,
Intrigued,
And filled with delight.
The old man spoke and this is what he said.
Beyond the waterfall's edge in the chamber below lies the key you seek.
With the key you will open the portal to the society of seekers,
Soothsayers,
And sages.
Sanctuary filled with magic and mystique.
The old man led Charlie on a trail to the waterfall's edge.
He pointed to a ladder that descended down from the cliff's slippery ledge.
Charlie carefully grabbed onto the rope ladder as he went down slowly and steady.
Charlie sensed a hidden key was near to be found and he was most certainly ready.
Behind the waterfall a secret chamber was concealed.
Inside the chamber lay a treasure chest where the second key of three was revealed.
Charlie held the key in his hand and let out a sigh of relief.
He was determined to find this key and did so with a steadfast belief.
Just then at that moment the key became brittle and began to crumble.
The key fell to pieces and the chamber began to shake and rumble.
On the ground appeared a circular portal door.
Charlie knew that this was the entrance to the society of seekers,
Soothsayers,
And sages sanctuary for sure.
Charlie jumped in the portal and he felt like he was sliding down a slide.
Within a few moments he was transported through the portal to the other side.
Charlie put his feet on the ground and looked around to see books upon books as far as his two eyes could see.
Welcome to the library of the secret society of seekers,
Soothsayers,
And sages.
Charlie,
You are our newest member and this is the society's official decree.
There is one more hidden key somewhere out there.
Good fortune and may favor find you on your quest.
