This is for kids who could benefit from some validation about their fears, as well as some tips on how to find ways to get calm. It also tells us the importance of doing this to be able to achieve things much more effectively. It helps us find strength in calmness, as well as some tips for using the breath to do this. This is both a gentle talk with a meditative feel to it which allows for these tips to be practiced.

Hello and welcome to this little recording.

And this is a special recording for you because it can help you for when you need to feel calm.

Because sometimes there's so much going on around us it feels like there's a storm going on here,

There's a storm going on there,

Just like when there's a storm outside.

And the clouds are grey and there's lots of wind and rain.

That's what it can feel like on the inside when things like that are going on on the outside.

So this is about finding your calm.

And it is possible.

So if you're ready we can get into this.

Now we're going to use some imagination.

We're going to use some pretending.

It's going to be fun as well.

Are you ready?

Great.

First off,

You might like to close your eyes or you can just hold a soft focus on something in front of you.

Now let's use our visualization skills.

This means we get to imagine.

In the room that you're in right now,

There's air surrounding you and this air in the room is always calm.

So you can imagine breathing in this calm air breathing in this calm air on each in-breath.

Every single time you have an in-breath.

And if you like,

You can imagine that this calm air is a blue colour or a green colour or you can choose your favourite colour that you feel will help you appreciate the calmness.

And now you're ready.

We can do something else with our imagination.

Why don't you imagine a very safe and peaceful place where you can do whatever you want to.

You can play with your toys.

It feels very safe.

It feels very peaceful.

It's like a magic place that you can now create in your mind.

It could be a cozy room with your favourite toys or it could be a quiet garden or it could be on the beach.

It could be on the beach.

Now explore within your mind what it's like in this safe and peaceful place.

It could be the things that you see all around you in this moment.

Noticing within this visualisation the things that you can see and maybe also the things that you can hear.

Maybe it's very,

Very quiet.

Maybe there's the sound of the beach or the birds.

It's up to you.

And what else is there?

The things that you can touch,

The things that you can sense in this safe and peaceful place.

Now what you might like to do is to think back to a time where you felt happy or maybe even proud.

This is a nice thing to think,

Isn't it?

It's a nice thing to bring to mind.

Feeling happy,

Feeling proud or anything else that you like to feel.

You can come back to this calm place where you feel happy,

Proud,

Content,

Whatever the feeling is.

And when you come back to it,

It can help you because it's nice to feel this way.

Thank you so much for being here.

This is something that you might like to talk about with your mum,

Your dad or your favourite teacher.

See you next time.

Goodbye.
