Welcome to our mini meditation time together.
I'm looking outside and the snow is falling ever so gently and I can actually see snowflakes falling.
So my meditation today may be to sit quietly as I look out the window and sort of count the snowflakes.
For you,
You can sit with dignity,
Taking a moment to feel what that is for you.
You may close your eyes or you can leave them open if you prefer.
When we meditate together,
We put the pause on our lives and come into an awareness of our being.
And I don't like to put a whole lot of rules on that.
That being said,
Coming into a mindful body I believe is very important.
And to notice your breath.
Whatever that is for you right now.
We don't have to breathe any certain number or in through one place and out through another.
Just notice.
Notice how your body feels in the chair.
Notice the rise and fall of your body as you breathe.
Notice where you've laid your hands whether they're face up or face down or palm down.
Where are your feet?
I'm sitting so my feet are flat on the ground.
I can kind of wiggle my toes.
Become aware.
Just become aware of my feet.
Kind of notice the thoughts that float in.
We honor them and we thank them for showing up.
And then we can let them pass through.
Maybe another two seconds,
Three seconds will go by and another thought will pop in.
We can let that pass through.
So as we come up on this quick end of our five minutes together,
Notice how you feel.
Notice what it's like to just pause and exhale for five minutes.
Our practice doesn't have to be any more than five minutes if five minutes is what we have.
But I invite you to enter into your own holy space.
And as you do that more and more,
That space will be different each day.
But in time you will notice some themes,
Some non-negotiables,
Some touchstones,
Some guideposts.
And that is your heart compass guiding you through this day,
Through this moment.
Thank you so much for spending this time with me.
Peace.
