Hello,
And welcome to this guided meditation.
And today's meditation is focusing on obstacles or opportunities.
And my name is Rebecca Galla-Jones,
And I am the founder and owner of The Yoga Hive,
A yoga studio located in Atlanta,
Georgia.
And I've been practicing yoga for about 20 years now.
So I want to welcome you to come into a seated position or sitting close to a wall,
Or if you would feel more comfortable seated in a chair or even lying down,
Just choosing a position where you can be receptive to receiving this information.
And let's start to cultivate our breath.
And maybe we do that first by noticing it more than anything else and taking a deep inhale breath through the nose and a sigh out through the mouth.
And then doing that a couple more times,
Just rinsing out some of the thoughts,
Maybe some physical sensations,
Inhale through the nose,
Exhale it out.
And one more,
Draw the breath in and release it back out.
And just notice how you feel just from having done that,
From having shifted some energy,
Some breath around in the body.
And then see if you can start to reign it in.
Can you breathe in through the nose and possibly breathe back out through your nose?
And as you do that,
I want you to think about that concept.
Is it an obstacle or an opportunity?
Many times we think that the things that creep up on our path that seem like they are there,
They're been put there to create frustration or irritation.
Could we reframe it and could we see it as being an opportunity maybe to lean into a different direction,
Maybe to discover something about ourself?
Sometimes we learn a skill that we didn't even know we had when something unplanned finds itself onto our path.
I'll just sit with that for a moment and take a few deep breaths.
And maybe you can remember a time or something in your life,
It seemed like it was so desperately terrible and it could still be.
However,
A great deal of the time we make things into obstacles instead of flipping the switch and seeing it as an opportunity.
Just allow yourself to take a few breaths and maybe something came right to mind.
And as you breathe,
The inhale breath is the lightness and the exhale breath is the releasing of the heaviness.
So as you continue to cultivate that rhythmic breath,
You change the energy and you allow yourself to lean into that concept of things being more like opportunities instead of obstacles.
And I'll give you just a moment to breathe a few times and explore that and see how it lands or resonates with you.
And then very slowly just start to edge back and let go of that.
And let go of any heaviness that's there by taking an inhale breath through the nose and a sigh out through the mouth.
And anytime something comes up and you feel like you're leaning into that,
That idea of it being an obstacle,
See if you can find the breath and turn that frown upside down and create some positive energy around what's happening and stay with it.
Stay in the moment,
Stay present.
Allow yourself to explore feelings that come up when things do go off course.
And then allow yourself to lean into the possibility that maybe it's not such a bad thing after all.
There's a light inside of each of us and that light inside of me honors and sees so clearly the light inside of each of you.
Go in peace.
Namaste.
I look forward to joining you again.
My name is Rebecca.
Have a beautiful day.
