Hello,
My name is Rebecca Gella Jones and I'm joining you today from Atlanta,
Georgia.
And yoga and meditation have been a part of my life for some time now.
And they have helped me.
And in that,
It is something that I enjoy passionately sharing.
Let's come together today and explore this concept of comparison,
Being the thief of joy.
It's a beautiful quote from Theodore Roosevelt.
And so we all do it.
We all accomplish something and then hold that accomplishment up to the accomplishment of someone else.
Very often we're in the beginning stages of doing something and we hold that up to someone who has already published their novel and we're just getting started,
Right?
And so we need to move away from that.
We have no business doing that.
It just feeds into the not enough.
And we want to reassure ourselves from within.
So find a place where you can be receptive to this concept and explore it a little bit.
Let's explore it together.
You may find a seat,
Whether that's on the floor or in a chair.
May close your eyes or have your eyes slightly averted.
It's finding comfort in this moment.
And then put more energy and more awareness around your breath.
It is the thing that we have inside of us that can help us to regulate.
So we use the inhale breath as the gathering energy,
The energy of that,
Of confidence and brightness and accomplishment.
And the exhale breath be one of letting go of that heavy feeling.
As we breathe,
We draw in what we need.
And as we breathe out,
We let go of some of the limitations,
Those limiting beliefs that get in and take root.
We feed the mind and we nurture it with loving kindness and good self-talk.
We let go of some of the negative things that want to stay and really simply cannot and should not.
As we breathe,
We draw in more of what we need and we let go of that which we don't.
I invite you to take five cycles of breath here on your own and let them be cleansing breaths because that's what we're trying to do.
We're trying to cleanse our minds,
Our bodies and our spirits of these limiting beliefs.
We inhale through your nose,
Inside out through your mouth.
And repeat that to yourself,
For yourself,
Four more times.
And then just return back to a nice natural breath.
Maybe it's a little longer than it was before.
There's some more awareness around it.
And then let this concept stay with you today.
Let it linger.
Let it help you in any way that you need so that you continue.
You continue on your path,
On your path,
Making it one step and one breath at a time and not measuring it up to anyone else's.
And there is a light inside of each of us.
And that light inside of me honors and sees so clearly the light inside of each of you.
Go in peace.
Namaste.
