
Self Care
This co-creative meditation utilizes emotional processing techniques to work with your subconscious to create the best balance of self care and caring for others. Every time you do this meditation, there will be a different result as it gives a framework for your subconscious mind to fill in, creating the most impactful meditation for you in the moment.

Hello,
This is Rebecca MacLean,
And this meditation is about helping others and self-care.
Go ahead,
Take a nice deep breath.
Feel your body relax.
Just sink into whatever surface you're sitting or laying on.
Remember that there's no way that you can do this wrong,
And there's no way that you can do it more right.
Whatever is coming up for you is exactly right,
Even if it doesn't match what I'm saying.
As you take another deep breath,
Feel your body expand with breath and then return.
Noticing how your body's responding,
How it's relaxing,
Or how it's waking up.
Just allowing your awareness to go down inside your body.
As your awareness goes down inside your body,
Become aware of your body.
Become aware of any sensations,
Aware of any feelings.
Now your imagination is going to bring forth a virtual resource.
This resource could be anyone or anything.
It could be a deity of your faith,
A person that you know,
A wise and loving ancestor,
Even an animal,
A piece of nature,
Your older wiser self,
Whatever comes up for you that is safe,
Loving,
And powerful.
Just notice what it's like to have that resource with you,
Fully receiving the presence of your resource,
And then noticing where your resource is in relation to you,
In front of you,
Above you,
Behind you,
Beside you,
Wherever they are is perfect.
And then as you are looking forward,
Your imagination is going to call forth a spectrum from left to right,
Whatever that spectrum looks like,
Whatever colors it has or not,
Whatever shape and form it takes,
Just looking across the spectrum.
And on the very left side,
Your imagination will bring up an image of you helping others.
Notice what that looks like,
You helping others.
Notice what it feels like emotionally to look at that image.
And notice what you look like in the image,
What your face looks like,
What you're experiencing,
Who you're with,
What you're doing.
Just taking in all the details.
And then on the far right-hand side of the spectrum,
Your imagination will bring up an image of you engaging in self-care,
Whatever that looks like.
Notice what it feels like to look at that image of you engaging in self-care.
Notice what it feels like to look at that image.
And then notice the you that is in the image.
What does your face look like?
What are you doing?
Who are you with?
Or maybe you are by yourself,
Just noticing what that looks like and noticing what it feels like as you look at that image.
And as you look at that image of you engaging in self-care,
Allow your awareness to move closer and closer to that end of the spectrum,
Getting closer and closer to this image of you engaging in self-care.
And then easily moving your awareness,
Bringing your resource with you into this version of yourself that is engaging in self-care.
Looking through these eyes,
Listening through these ears,
Sensing this body,
These emotions,
And experiencing what's happening in this scene of self-care.
Know what it feels like to take care of yourself.
And then speaking for that self-care self,
Back to your current self and to the other side of the spectrum.
What I want to say as my self-care self is,
I want to say,
I want to say,
I want to say self-care.
And what I feel is important is.

.
And what I know self-care provides me is.
.
.
And how I feel when I engage in self-care is.
.
.
And if there is a downside to self-care,
It is.
.
.
And so what I want to have happen is.
.
.
And how it would feel if that happened would be.
.
.
Because what I want for us is.
.
.
And anything else that self-care wants to say,
Go ahead and allow it to be spoken now.
And how it feels to say all this is.
.
.
And now moving your awareness easily back into yourself.
Looking back at this self-care self.
Noticing what this self-care self looks like now.
The same or different.
Receiving all that the self-care self has spoken as a stream of colored energy that's moving from the self-care you to you.
Noticing the color and the quality and where that energy is entering your body.
Feeling it fully.
Feeling that energy enter your body.
Feeling it expand throughout your body.
Giving it as much time and as much space as it needs to express fully.
And then moving down to the other end of the spectrum,
Toward the helping other self.
Noticing what the helping other self looks like.
And then easily moving your awareness,
Bringing your resource with you if you wish,
Into the helping others self.
Listening through these eyes,
Listening through these ears.
Sensing that body and those emotions and those words.
And feeling what's happening in that scene of helping others.
Experiencing what it feels like in your body.
Experiencing what it feels like emotionally.
And then speaking out loud for the helping other self.
What I want to say is.

And what I know about helping others is.
.
.
And how I feel when I help others is.
.
.
And if there's a downside of helping others,
It is.

And what I want to have happen is.

And how it would feel if that happened would be.

Because what I want for us is.

And anything else that the helping others self wants to say,
Allow it to be spoken now.
And how it feels for me to say all this is.

Now easily moving your awareness back from the helping other self to your own self.
Listening through your own eyes,
Sensing your own body,
Words and emotions.
And looking back at the helping other self.
Noticing how the helping other self looks now.
The same or different.
And then sensing all that the helping other self has spoken as a stream of colored energy that's moving from the helping other self to you.
Notice its color and its qualities.
And notice how it moves into your body.
And then fully receiving all of that energy from the helping other self.
Fully receiving it into your body,
Allowing it to expand and express throughout your body.
And when it feels complete,
Feeling your own body and moving back along the spectrum in between the two,
Self-care and helping others.
Just noticing what your body feels like with both of these energies within it.
And then moving along the spectrum until you reach the perfect spot for you.
Balancing these two energies in your body.
And whether you're pretty far to the left or pretty far to the right,
Or maybe right in the middle,
Anywhere in between.
Just move your body along the spectrum,
Paying attention to your body.
Paying attention to the feedback that you're getting from the sensations in your body until you find that perfect spot.
When you find that spot that feels perfectly balanced between self-care and helping others,
Just sensing that it's exactly right.
And it's okay if it adjusts,
Always being aware of the feedback that your body's giving you.
And then speaking from this spot,
How it feels for me to be right here is.

And how it feels in my body to be right here is.
.
.
And how it feels emotionally to be in this spot is.
.
.
And what I know about this spot on the spectrum is.
.
.
How my energy feels here is.
.
.
And how my mind feels at this place in the spectrum is.
.
.
And what I know about the flow of this spectrum between self-care and helping others is.
.
.
And what I know about me when I'm in this place and maintaining this balance is.
.
.
And what I'm now confident that I can do is.
.
.
And anything else that you want to say,
Or that wants to be spoken,
Go ahead and speak it now.
And how it feels to make these awarenesses and to be able to say all this is.

.
And now your body will let you know that all this beautiful work that you've done is anchored all the way down into cellular memory,
Even down into your DNA.
It's written in your subconscious mind flashing millions of times every split second without you even thinking about it.
And it's also saved in your conscious awareness,
Able to be retrieved at will.
It lets you know that this is done by bringing full feeling back into your arms,
Your legs,
Your fingers and toes,
Normal awareness back into your mind,
Your body,
Your brain.
And when it's complete,
You'll open your eyes.
