A short and sweet meditation to come back to centre with yourself. This is a lovely practice for those times of transition, when you want to find more presence with yourself. You could choose this practice to slow down before starting work or coming into connection with someone else, or to switch off and come back to yourself after a period of being externally focused.

So welcome to this short,

Sweet meditation practice that's about enhancing your vitality and centering yourself.

My invitation is to connect with your environment or an environment that you enjoy.

This is a lovely practice to do in preparation to moving into some other practice like touch or whatever's happening next in your day.

Anytime you want to get yourself more together and feel more in contact with yourself.

I'm going to begin by asking you to think about a couple of questions.

And the first one is where do you feel present naturally?

Where do you feel most aware of yourself and your connection with the world?

Are there places you feel particularly connected?

Like your garden or a garden you visit or a beach or a cozy chair?

And what is it about those places that give you this sense of presence?

And maybe nothing's coming,

Maybe there's somewhere you're attracted to go and to feel more present but you haven't been yet.

Just making contact with those places.

And then allowing your body to choose any position that feels comfortable or natural.

You might want to move or lie down or sit.

So long as you feel present and comfortable.

And then enjoy a few easeful breaths.

You don't have to breathe in any particular way.

And as you breathe simply feel your presence right here on earth in this particular environment.

And continuing to open,

Becoming aware of sounds,

Shapes,

Movements.

And now feeling your own body and all of its sensations.

Feel your position.

Sense the pull of gravity attracting your body towards the earth.

Can something in you let go even more?

Perhaps allowing a deep exhalation.

And know that whatever position you're in,

Whether you're moving or still,

Wherever you are,

You are supported by the earth.

You could say quietly to yourself,

Yes I am supported.

And now bringing your hands to your heart for a moment.

And feeling the movement of breath beneath your hands.

The inhale and exhale.

As your breath flows you are embracing the atmosphere of birth.

Receiving.

And giving.

And just noticing the support of the breath.

And continuing to notice your presence in the flow of life.

And then noticing the element of space all around you.

Sensing space above you,

Space behind you,

In front of you,

On either side of you.

And breathing with that connection to your body and to space.

You may like to reach around into this space,

Exploring.

Trusting that your hands and arms will move in any way that feels interesting to you.

And becoming aware of your place in this vastness all around.

The sky,

The sun,

The moon,

The planets.

This particular quality of day or night.

This body.

And breathing in connection with this infinity all around.

Taking some spacious breaths with that feeling.

And whilst connected to this vast spaciousness.

Coming back into connection with this very particular place you are in right now.

This little spot on earth that is your ground right now.

And this experience of being alive.

And all the sensations in your body.

Your individual presence here on earth.

And your connection with the larger field of life.

Your particular embodiment of energy.

And if you choose you might want to bring your hands onto your heart.

And feel all that's pulsing in your body.

Your thoughts,

Your sensations,

Your emotions.

Your inner wise wisdom.

And then as we begin to transition.

You may like to think about what's coming next in your day.

And feeling this quality of presence and imagining it flowing into the rest of your day.

Remembering your connection to yourself.

Remembering you are supported.

Remembering the spaciousness that surrounds you.

Remembering the way you want to show up for yourself and for others.

Remembering this heart beating.

And then as you begin to come back to your day.

Maybe whittling fingers or toes.

Sensing into the environment where you are.

Taking more easy breaths.

And allowing your body to relax.

Feeling your own freedom to choose.

And when you're ready to.

You can begin to transition.

To prepare to meet the next activity.

That's coming today.

Begin to transition.

To prepare to meet the next activity.

That's coming today.

Wishing you a good day.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful practice with our community Nicola. I haven’t meditated in a few weeks and this was a great practice to bring me back into the routine.
