Do not listen to this recording while driving or if you are operating machinery.

Only listen when you can safely relax and are able to get as comfortable as possible.

Hi,

My name is Robert Aceves and today we're going to be practicing a very simple but very powerful mindfulness meditation on doing nothing.

I'm going to ask you to find a place where you can lay down and relax,

Where nobody will come and interrupt you for the next 10 to 15 minutes.

Let's begin.

Close your eyes and take a deep breath in and exhale.

Take another deep breath in and exhale.

And as you're laying there or sitting down,

All I'm going to ask you to do is to let go of everything.

We're not going to try to do anything in particular.

All you're going to do is allow your body to be in this moment,

Breathing comfortably without moving because we're not going to need to move at all for this meditation.

You need to go anywhere,

You don't need to think of anything.

All you're going to do is just sit there,

Lay down and do absolutely nothing.

You don't have to think of anything.

You don't even have to try to come up with a solution or any type of improvement.

All you have to do is just be in this moment,

Listen to my voice,

But you don't even have to pay attention to my voice either if you don't want to.

That's totally fine.

That's totally fine.

Just allow your body to breathe in and breathe out.

And you can listen to some sounds,

But you don't have to pay attention to them as well.

Just be in this moment.

You can let go of your arms,

Your legs,

Your whole body.

Just let it be.

Breathing in and breathing out.

And as you continue to breathe,

You can feel your body slowly becoming more comfortable without you even doing anything about that.

Because our natural state is to be at ease and peace.

Problem is we have a lot of things going on all the time and we don't take the time to do nothing,

Which is why this little tiny exercise is very powerful.

Even though it's very simple,

All I'm trying to do is get you to do nothing.

And that in itself is doing a lot.

Because when we do nothing,

We're not harming other people,

We're not thinking negative thoughts.

And by doing nothing,

We're also allowing our bodies to heal.

Because our bodies have this natural tendency to heal themselves.

Just think about when you cut yourself with a knife,

Just by accident,

Small cut,

You don't think,

Oh,

I'm going to be sending the repair crew to that finger,

For example.

Just simply happens and your body begins the healing process automatically without you even thinking about it.

Because our bodies have what it takes to heal.

Same with our mind.

Our mind knows what to do to heal those traumas from the past.

The problem is we don't take the time to heal,

Which is why I'm asking you today to not do anything,

To let go of everything for a few minutes.

Allowing your body to heal whatever parts of your body need healing.

And the same with your mind.

Once you let go of all your thoughts for a few minutes,

So that your subconsciousness can work on healing the past.

Healing those parts of you that need attention.

Without you even thinking about it.

Because your body knows what's best and so does your mind.

So take this time to relax and really let go of everything for the next few minutes.

So now you can continue to breathe comfortably.

And by now you can already feel something different.

Simply by doing nothing,

Your body tends to feel better automatically.

Your mind feels more at peace.

And so continue to do nothing.

Think of a seed.

When we plant a seed,

We can make sure that the soil is ready.

The fertilizer.

We plant the seed and we give it water,

Sun,

And whenever it's necessary for it to grow.

But the seed grows whenever it feels like it.

Whenever it's time for it to grow.

And no matter how much we really want it to grow,

It's going to grow whenever it feels like it.

Whenever it's time for it to grow.

And so we just leave it alone.

Same with your body.

Let's just leave your body alone for a few minutes and allow it to do whatever it needs to do.

The grow.

The heal.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Feeling so relaxed and so good to be in this moment doing nothing.

Because you don't have to think about anything right now.

You don't have to try to make anything happen.

All you're doing right now is letting go.

It's being in this moment,

Kind of like a tree.

It's just there,

Living,

Well-being.

So when we talk about well-being,

We're talking about we're talking about being in the moment well.

Feeling well.

Just being well in this moment,

Healing ourselves from everything in our past.

And the more we practice this,

The better we feel.

Because a lot of times we're busy doing one thing or doing another.

We rarely take the time to do nothing.

But starting today,

Hopefully you'll see the benefits of doing nothing and you'll start practicing this more often.

Think of when you plug in your cell phone to the wall to charge it.

You plug it in and you leave it alone.

Then half an hour later or an hour later you come back and it's fully charged,

Ready to use.

Same with your body.

Disconnected from everything.

Close all the tabs and just really let go and relax for the next couple minutes.

And really,

Really let go of everything.

So so so so so so And by now you can already feel your body in a much better state simply by doing nothing.

You can feel your mind more relaxed,

More at peace.

And hopefully you can practice this meditation every day or at least 10 to 15 minutes where you do nothing.

It can really change your life.

And so little by little I'm going to ask you to come back to the present feeling your legs and your arms lighter and lighter.

And whenever you feel like it you're going to open your eyes looking at the colors and the things around you,

Feeling so much better,

Ready to continue with the rest of your day.
