Hi,

My name is Robert Aceves.

Welcome to this guided meditation about cultivating resilience and equanimity.

These are two of my favorite words and I also feel like they are the two most important qualities that we can have in order to adapt to our constant changing environment better.

And for our mental health.

One of my favorite quotes from Charles Darwin is,

According to Darwin's Origin of Species,

It is not the most intellectual of the species that survives.

It is not the strongest that survives,

But the species that survives is the one that is able to best adapt and adjust to the changing environment in which it finds itself.

With the current climate in the world,

I feel like resilience and equanimity are essential for our survival.

Resilience means the ability of a person to adjust to or recover readily from illness,

Adversity,

Major life changes,

Etc.

Equanimity means mental or emotional stability or composure,

Especially under tension or strain,

Calmness,

Equilibrium.

As you can see,

Both qualities speak of recovery and finding stability under pressure or illness.

And so today we are going to work on cultivating these two qualities within you.

Let's begin.

Please find a comfortable place to sit or lay down.

Close your eyes.

Or you can keep your eyes open.

Whatever is most comfortable for you.

When it comes to meditation,

There's really no right or wrong way of doing it.

So don't worry about doing this the right way.

Simply listen and allow yourself the next few minutes to work on yourself.

Take a deep breath in.

And exhale.

Take another deep breath in.

And exhale.

And sometimes just breathing alone can do so much for us.

For now,

You don't have to do anything other than breathe in and breathe out.

Feel your body and your breath.

Observe your body and your thoughts.

And as you breathe in and out,

You can feel what you're feeling and think what you're thinking.

And one thing I've found over the years in meditation is that we already have what it takes to feel better.

For example,

How many times have we experienced problems in our lives,

Such as feeling frustrated or stressed out about something,

And then suddenly a friend invites us to dinner and in just a few minutes,

Our problems disappear and we lose ourselves in a great conversation.

Or for example,

When we were babies and we were learning how to walk,

How many times didn't we fall down and hurt ourselves,

And yet we didn't give up,

We kept getting up,

And look at you now.

Here you are today,

Walking.

There are so many times when we fell as kids and scraped our knees and we never even thought about healing our knees,

And yet our knees healed completely.

Because our bodies also have the ability to heal by themselves.

We don't have to think,

Oh I'm now going to close this wound by bringing my white blood cells and generate new cells,

Etc.

No,

It just happens.

And the same with our essence.

Our true nature has what it takes to heal from any emotional stress or tension.

All we need to do is allow our subconscious to do this,

To do its job.

Also,

By removing our limiting beliefs of who we are and realizing our true nature,

We can also find the freedom to be.

And you can continue to breathe comfortably,

Inhaling and exhaling,

Always reconnecting with the present.

And by focusing on our breath,

We can regain our emotional stability,

No matter what the situation we're working on confronting is.

Feel your breath coming into your body,

And leaving your body.

And to get back to the essential being that you are,

We're going to release the first great trap that we encounter in this process.

Your name.

Your name was given to you by your parents,

Or whoever took care of you as a child.

But obviously,

You are not your name.

So let go of your name.

Once you can let go of your name,

You can go back to your mind.

Let go of your name.

Once you can let go of your name,

You can also let go of your last name.

That means letting go of your parents or those people who erased you.

You are not your last name.

This may be hard at first,

But once you realize that you are more than just a name and a last name,

Then the real work begins.

And very quickly,

I'm going to assume that you are able to drop your name and your last name.

Now it's time to let go of your age.

You're not young,

You're not old.

You are ageless.

You are an essential being that is infinite and has no age.

And so you don't define yourself by your age.

The essential being is eternal.

And now let's work on the most difficult.

Let go of your nationality.

You have no nationality.

That's right,

You have no nationality.

And you can continue to breathe as you feel your body sitting or laying down.

And you can feel the gravity pushing your body down towards the earth,

Feeling your body connecting to this mother earth.

This is planet earth.

And you can start to take the first step and become an earthling.

An inhabitant of the earth.

No nationality.

The American is over.

The English is over.

The Australian is over.

The German is over.

The Chinese is over.

The white is over.

The yellow is over.

The black is over.

There's no nationality.

There's no place to be.

The yellow is over.

The black is over.

There's no nationality and there's no race.

The essential being is much more than the body,

Much more than the place where you were born,

Much more than your race.

And continue to breathe comfortably.

Inhaling and exhaling.

Always reconnecting with the present.

And now that you have no nationality,

We're going to take this even further.

You're not even from this earth.

You're galactic.

You belong to the galaxy.

And even further,

You belong to the galaxies.

And even further,

You're totally cosmic.

You're universal.

The essential being belongs to the total universe.

You belong to the universe.

You have no name.

You have no age.

You have no name.

You have no limits.

You are infinite.

You have no age.

You are eternal.

You belong to the cosmos.

The cosmos created you.

Your homeland is the cosmos.

And you are further still back to the source.

The place where you came from before you were born.

And the place you go back to after your body dies.

Your homeland is that energy that creates everything.

That is your homeland.

That energy that creates the entire universe and all universes.

And where is that energy?

Well,

If it is not in you,

It is nowhere.

That cosmic energy is in you.

That is your center.

There is no more.

No name.

No age.

No nationality.

Come back to you.

You have no profession.

You have no labels.

You're not this or that.

You're not a lawyer,

An engineer,

A doctor,

A businessman or a businesswoman,

A mother of a family or a father.

You have no trade.

You are what you are.

You are an essential being.

And continue to breathe comfortably,

Inhaling and exhaling.

Always reconnecting with the present.

Now,

Always reconnecting with the present.

Now,

Please focus.

Focus now on your breath coming in and coming out.

You have no trade.

You cannot remove everything that others wanted you to be.

Everything that others have wanted you to be.

You are what you are and not what others want you to be.

You can remove everything others wanted you to do.

Everything others wanted you to be.

Everything that others told you.

For example,

If you're not this,

You're a loser.

If you're not that,

You're going to end up a failure.

If you're not this,

You're not going to succeed.

You can remove anything others wanted you to be.

Nobody can want you to be what you are not.

And this is going to be even more difficult,

But I promise you,

You'll feel better afterwards.

Think of all your loved ones.

They're all mortal.

Your loved ones have a body like yours.

You have to know that your loved ones are going to leave someday.

You have to know it.

And you have to know how to let them go.

To get to your center and then from there,

You'll be able to offer them true love and enjoy them much more while they're still in their current form.

But for those who are not,

You have to know how to and enjoy them much more while they're still in their current form.

But for now,

Let go of your mom.

And let go of your dad.

Let go of your sister.

And let go of your brothers.

Let go of your daughters.

Let go of your sons.

Let go of your grandparents.

And let go of your entire family or guardians and everybody else that you love,

Your friends.

Let them go.

And enter you.

Enter you.

Do not fear loneliness because when you enter you,

You enter the whole world.

Now,

Let go of everything you have.

Everything you want to have is not you.

You are not what you have,

So let it go.

And just be you.

Enjoy this feeling of being.

Feel yourself existing.

Breathing in.

And breathing out.

This is you.

You don't need anything or anybody to be happy.

Happiness comes from within.

So feel that happiness growing from inside,

Knowing that you are going to be all right.

Just being the essential being that you are.

Your essence is.

So take the next few minutes to enjoy this great feeling of joy of beingness.

So you do.

So you.

Feel your breath and the sensation of being alive.

You are.

You exist.

You are you.

And when you are ready to come back to the present,

You are going to start to feel your toes moving and your feet feeling so much better than ever.

Getting ready to come back to the present,

Waking up little by little.

And knowing that this feeling will stay with you for as long as you wish.

Opening your eyes,

Stretching your body like you just walked up from a very nice,

Very long nap.

And this is going to be the end of today's guided meditation.

Hope you enjoyed it and wish you the best.

Until next time.

Thank you.

So you
