Over recent years, as mindfulness practices have received more mainstream attention, gratitude practices have stood out as a type of mindfulness practice that has a high impact on an individual's level of happiness. A daily practice of gratitude can be done through a guided meditation like this or just simple practices such as thinking of three things you're grateful for every morning when you get up. To practice gratitude is to increase your happiness and connectedness to others. Please enjoy.

Hello,

This is Ravi.

Welcome to this gratitude practice.

Close your eyes,

Take a few deep breaths,

Breathe all the way in and all the way out.

Just breathe.

Wrath is life.

Commit to not taking this miracle breath for granted.

As you continue with relaxed,

Deep breathing,

Take an inventory of the things for which you're grateful.

Let them percolate through your mind and calm your body.

Think of five things that you're grateful for which matter to you.

Five things you're grateful for.

Enjoy the feeling of gratitude.

Gratitude feels good.

Today,

Set an intention to engage in an act of kindness.

Notice if you're pulled toward kindness for a stranger more than someone close to you or the other way around.

Either way,

Offer your kindness with no strings attached,

Without the need for recognition.

Notice the completeness and fullness of letting go of needing anything in return.

And bring to mind someone for whom you are grateful,

Someone who has influenced you positively.

Hold the image of this person in your mind's eye.

Perhaps they're a protector,

A benefactor,

A loved one,

Or a mentor.

This person in your life for whom you are grateful.

Savor the image of this person or the memory and try to allow the image of this person to be held in all the cells of your body,

Not just your mind,

But throughout your entire body.

Feel joy in this feeling of gratitude for this person.

Notice what happens to your emotions.

Notice how your body feels when you feel gratitude for this person.

Set an intention to at any point during your day,

Reflect upon one new and important thing that you've learned today or yesterday.

One new and important thing that you've learned.

Feel gratitude for having learned this new thing.

Today,

Set an intention to let someone you know that you're thinking of them.

Perhaps send a card or call them.

Send a text or an email letting them know that you're thinking of them.

Expect nothing in return.

Just share your appreciation and acknowledgement of this person.

Picture the person you will think of.

What emotions do you feel?

How does your body feel when thinking of them?

Now sit quietly and allow a sense of peace to enter your heart.

Allow the sense of peace to flow into your heart and fill it with peace.

Create a grateful intention.

Settle into this sense of peace,

Allowing the sense of peace to enter your heart.

Reside in this space of gratefulness for a few precious moments.

Form the intention.

Form the intention to show up absolutely wholeheartedly to everything you do today.

Make an intention to notice at the end of the day if anything changed because of this intention to show up with full wholeheartedness.

See if you can view your most challenging moments today as opportunities.

See if you can turn all of the still moments of your day into moments of heightened awareness.

Be fully present in each moment of the day so you might recognize blessings as they occur.

Think about how what happens in your day may be blessings in disguise.

These are some intentions to cultivate and savor feelings of gratitude each and every day.

Inhale deeply.

Wiggle your fingers and hands.

Flex and point your feet.

Take another deep energizing inhale.

Slowly open your eyes and set your intention of having a beautiful day.
