Welcome to the self-love brain hack.
So just be comfortable.
Sit any way that feels dignified and relaxed.
Gently close your eyes,
Take a few breaths,
And just settle in.
And now I'll ask you to recall a time when you felt a genuine sense of caring for someone.
Maybe it was somebody who was in need in a bad situation,
Or maybe it was just somebody you admire,
Or just really feel the feels for sometimes.
But what is it like when you feel the energy of caring,
Of warmth,
Of appreciation for another?
Notice what it's like.
What is it like in the body?
What are the sensations involved?
Okay.
And in noticing this,
Can you take a little screenshot with your mind's eye of what this state is like?
Notice as much as you can about it in your.
.
.
Burning a memory of it into your brain,
Into your body,
Into your cells.
You can even have a sense of this feeling floating to the back of your mind.
And in the foreground of mind,
Can you remember a time when you felt cared for?
This one can be a little bit harder for people sometimes,
But if you have a dog,
This one's really easy.
Well,
Maybe there was a time when somebody showed up for you in a meaningful way,
Or they hugged you like they meant it.
Or you just felt taken care of in a large or small way.
And whether specific memory or not arises,
That's okay.
Perhaps you can just contact an analog of the experience.
What is it like to feel cared for?
To feel the energy of warmth flowing in towards you?
What is it like in the body?
Taking a little screenshot of this state of being.
Bookmarking it.
Putting it in your back pocket so it's there for you later.
And now keep this feeling and bring back the sensation of what it's like to care for another being.
And just intuitively let these two feeling states intermingle.
Love flowing out,
Love flowing in at the same time.
What is that like?
What is it like in the body?
I'll ask you to notice something very obvious.
You're the one experiencing this,
Aren't you?
And so allow this to be for you.
Add to this the notion that this love that's going out and in at the same time,
This is for me.
I get to feel this right now.
And this is self-love.
Let the feeling spread throughout the body.
Savor the feeling for as long as you can.
Let it sink deeply into you.
Let it sink into your muscles,
Into your bones.
Let it become part of who you are.
Let it remind you of who you are,
Who you truly are.
Stay here as long as you like,
Or you can close your practice now.
