
Somatic Healing For The Hypothalamus, Pituitary And Adrenals

The hypothalamus maintains your body's internal balance and homeostasis. Together with the pituitary gland they regulate your heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature and digestion. The hypothalamus and pituitary gland work with the adrenals to keep you ready and safe and they release stress hormones when you are in hyperarousal. We will bring regulation to the nervous system and then support to this HPA axis. This is incredibly healing for your whole system.

So we're going to be working with the hypothalamus,
Pituitary,
And adrenal glands.
And we're going to start by bringing some regulation into the nervous system so those glands can take in the support.
So you can be sitting or preferably laying down,
Eyes open or closed,
Whatever you prefer.
And just beginning to notice your breath,
Just letting the breath find its own natural rhythm.
Noticing how the breath just comes and goes on its own.
There's nothing that you have to do.
And if for any reason it's not comfortable focusing on your breath,
You could just focus on your toes.
And then we'll welcome all your parts.
We all have many,
Many,
Many different parts of us.
Maybe really young parts,
All the way to our adult parts.
And some parts that may want to let you know things and other parts that just want to be quiet and rest.
So everything about you is welcome here.
And if you want to call in any kind of support to support you for your healing,
Feel free to do that.
Sometimes people like to call in an ancestor,
An animal friend,
Something from nature,
Could be a spiritual being,
Anything at all if you feel inclined and no need if you don't feel inclined.
So we'll start by supporting the heart,
Which is the center of our connection with ourselves.
And we'll do that by crossing the heart,
Inviting any amount of opening that might want to happen.
So we'll come to the top of the left shoulder and the top of the right hip bone.
The shoulder,
Right hip bone.
That's it.
Just bringing that care to the heart,
The chest,
The lungs,
Even the thymus is here,
Considered the upper heart,
Right below the clavicle bone,
In the middle,
Just a little off to the right side.
Yeah,
Left shoulder,
Right hip bone.
That's it,
Just inviting any amount of opening that might want to happen at the heart.
Our heart develops kind of an armoring around it when we have a lot of hard things happen to us.
So we're just bringing some support here.
And then we'll gently switch sides as you feel ready.
We're going to come to the top of the right shoulder and the top of the left hip bone.
Right shoulder,
Left hip bone,
Just crossing in the other direction.
That's it.
Just allowing your body knows exactly what to do here.
Just more space for you as the heart opens and the chest opens.
Right shoulder,
Left hip bone.
All right,
So we're going to gently head down now to the right adrenal gland,
Right on top of the right kidney,
A little bit like a pyramid shape,
About the size of a quarter.
And we're going to just bring some support,
Some care to that right adrenal gland.
Yeah,
Supporting the right adrenal.
It works so hard to keep you safe,
To keep you ready.
And we're just giving it an opportunity to rest here,
To not have to work so hard.
Focusing on the right adrenal.
There you go.
Maybe allowing it to rest down on the kidney.
You might notice a little bit of a feeling of fullness coming into that right kidney adrenal area as that fresh blood with all those nutrients comes into the kidney.
Or you might notice that you're coming into your right pelvis a little bit more,
Your right leg and foot,
Even the right arm and hand.
Yeah,
The right lung.
And you might not notice anything at all,
And that's fine.
What we're doing is working regardless of what you notice.
Focusing on the right adrenal.
Yeah,
You might even send a ray of gratitude to your adrenal for how hard it works to support you.
The kidney is right there underneath it.
The liver and the gallbladder are right there on the right side,
And they all support each other.
All right.
So just taking your time here as you feel ready,
We're gonna just gently cross on over,
Kind of like crossing over a bridge.
Yeah,
We're gonna cross on over to the left adrenal.
There you go.
Yeah,
This adrenal is a little bit like a crescent shape.
And sitting right on top of the left kidney,
Just a tiny bit higher up in the body.
Focusing the left adrenal.
Yeah,
It's probably gonna feel different on this side than the other side.
On this side,
The pancreas is close by and the spleen.
Also this side is a little more connected up with the stomach and the ovaries or the testes.
It's more connected to our reproductive system.
Supporting the left adrenal.
Yeah,
Just allowing it to rest down.
There you go.
Yeah,
Just bringing that care to the left adrenal.
You might notice coming more into your left sacrum and pelvis,
The left leg and foot.
Yeah,
Maybe even the left arm and hand.
You just may notice just coming into the lower half of your body a little bit more,
Even the arms,
Hands.
Focusing on the left adrenal.
You might feel some tingling or some warmth in different places in the body.
You may be noticing your body and you might not be.
You may be drifting off and it's all good.
All right,
So we're going to come to the spine just about where the kidney adrenals are on the spine.
We're just going to come right to that area for a moment.
Yeah,
Some people consider this a portal area.
You might notice the breath back there.
Good,
And then we're just going to really gently make our way all the way up the spine to the very top of the spinal cord,
Right where it meets the brain.
And then we'll be at the brain stem.
So this is the center of your autonomic nervous system.
A very,
Very important sacred place.
And we're going to bring our care there now.
Yeah,
Supporting the brain stem,
It's just right there at the base of your skull,
Kind of that soft area where the oxy puts are right in the middle there,
Right where the head sits on the body.
There you go.
Yeah,
Just connecting with the brain stem.
Yeah,
Maybe allowing the brain stem to rest down.
Or soften or expand.
Supporting the brain stem.
Might notice your jaw starting to soften.
Or your throat opening up,
The back of the throat softening.
Or maybe your neck and shoulders are starting to let go a little bit here of whatever they've been holding onto for so long.
We just trust the body knows exactly what to do.
Starting at the brain stem.
Yeah,
Just allowing.
And you might notice the pituitary glands starting to open up a little,
We'll work with it more in a little bit.
There might be some light coming in and out of that area.
Yeah.
Just above your nose bridge,
Kind of in between the eyebrows right in the middle of the brain there,
Kind of at what they call the third eye area.
All right.
So let's make our way gently down to your ankles.
So we're just going to go all the way down to the backs of your ankles,
Just allowing your ankles to open.
And then whatever might be ready to let go,
To move through,
Can go right down your body,
Right down through those ankles and then out through the soles of your feet,
Back to the earth,
Where it can transform.
Yeah,
You might notice some kind of wavy energy going up and down the spine perhaps.
Whatever you're not needing,
Maybe your body's been holding on to stuff for a long time.
Yeah,
Stuff that's not yours,
Stuff that was never yours.
Anything toxic could be beliefs or thoughts that you don't need.
Your body knows,
Just allowing it to move down the body and right out through the soles of the feet,
Back to source.
Yeah,
Just allowing for flow,
Supporting at the backs of the ankles.
Yeah.
Focusing on the backs of the ankles,
Maybe a little bit on the outsides too.
Yeah.
Yea just allowing All right,
So now we're going to begin the hypothalamus pituitary adrenal work.
So we're going to come up to the hypothalamus.
It's right in the center of the brain,
Kind of like between where your eyebrows are,
Deep in the middle of the brain there.
It's a little bit like a C shape.
The hypothalamus is on the top of the C,
Kind of an upside down C.
And we're going to work with the hypothalamus and then the pituitary,
Which is underneath that C shape.
And then we're going to work with the right adrenal and the left adrenal.
So these have a tremendous impact.
The hypothalamus regulates the adrenals and has a tremendous impact on your well-being.
Yeah,
Affects your sleep and your temperature regulation,
Your heart rate,
So many different things.
The hypothalamus and the pituitary and the adrenals.
All right,
So we're going to come to the hypothalamus and we're going to rest there for a bit,
Just bringing support.
Just supporting the hypothalamus.
Good.
Now we're going to come to the pituitary gland right underneath it and we're going to bring support to the pituitary gland.
Supporting the pituitary gland.
Nice.
And now we're going to come to the right adrenal and the left adrenal.
We're just going to support them together now.
And they work together,
Right adrenal,
Left adrenal.
Nice.
Supporting the adrenals.
All right,
So now we're going to support all three areas,
The hypothalamus,
The pituitary and the adrenals all together as one.
So this is called the HPA axis.
So we'll come to the hypothalamus and we'll add in the pituitary and then we'll add in the adrenals,
Supporting all of them at once.
Okay.
Hypothalamus,
Pituitary,
Adrenals.
Alright,
So now we're just going to move into a minute or so of a healing silence together,
Just allowing the work to titrate into your system.
So we'll rest in a healing silence and then at the end of that I'll just have a few words.
Alright,
So as you feel ready,
If your eyes have been closed,
You can go ahead and open your eyes.
And I wish you a really healing rest of your day or evening.

Wonderful! I’m thrilled and so very grateful to have found this brilliant , healing practice. This isnt something I’ve ever experienced before, but I have really wanted to try it … It was so wonderful to find you and your guidance for somatic healing on insight timer. I have been on my healing journey, looking for answers, for over 2 decades, in order to help ease things for the m.e fibromyalgia and PTSD symptoms. I wanted to live and feel alive, rather than feel smothered by struggle! The more recent knowledge I’ve seen being shared about the brain, adrenals, amygdala, nervous system, etc.. is SO important for so many of us with “invisible”conditions … And it’s just as important for those around us who wouldn’t or couldn’t believe we were so desperately unwell too. Having gone many years of Adrenal Insufficiency, I know how important these glands and hormones are for good health. I was physically wasting away, having lost appetite, energy, muscle mass and strength and 32 pounds. Thank you for sharing this healing with me. It’s important! I had complete insufficiency not fatigue. It’s is a very serious condition and I experienced 3 near death experiences until my body was healed. But it has never been the same since. I’m so glad to have found this healing. Namaste!
