
Somatic Healing For Balancing The Nervous System

In this practice, we will bring support to the autonomic nervous system by supporting the adrenals, brainstem, and ankles. We will then focus on the shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles to bring more balance into our system.
Transcript
So finding a comfortable place to either sit or lay down,
Preferably laying down and then closing your eyes.
We're going to begin to bring some regulation into the nervous system and then work with a balancing enhancement to bring more balance into your system.
So we'll start by bringing some support to the heart.
We're going to come to the left shoulder and the right hip bone,
Just crossing the heart,
Inviting any amount of opening that might want to happen at the heart.
Left shoulder,
Right hip bone.
That's it.
Left shoulder,
Right hip bone.
And then let's gently switch sides,
Coming to the top of the right shoulder and the top of the left hip bone.
Right shoulder,
Left hip bone.
Just bringing support to the heart,
Bringing care there to the center of your connection with yourself.
Right there.
That's it.
You might notice the heart perhaps softening a little bit,
Just being curious about whatever you notice.
All right.
So we're going to begin to make our way down to the right adrenal gland now.
So it's sitting right on top of the kidney,
Right above the kidney at your back body.
So it's just a little bit above your waist.
The adrenal is about the size of a quarter.
It's a little bit like a crescent or half moon shape.
Actually,
It's a pyramid shape on this right side.
Yeah.
So we're just going to bring some support to the right adrenal,
Bringing our thoughts to the right adrenal.
It just works so hard to keep us safe and keep us ready.
So we're just connecting,
Bringing some care there.
Right adrenal.
Just giving the adrenal a chance to maybe rest down a little bit here.
And whatever your adrenal is doing is just right for you.
Your body knows exactly what to do here.
There's actually nothing that you need to do.
Just allowing yourself to hear my voice.
Even if you drift off,
That's perfectly fine.
Supporting the right adrenal.
And then we'll gently now just make our way over to the left adrenal.
Whenever you feel ready,
Just going on over to that side.
And on this side,
The adrenal is a little bit like a crescent or half moon shape.
It's the same size,
About the size of a quarter,
Just sitting right above that left kidney at your back body.
And this adrenal is just a little bit tucked up under the respiratory diaphragm,
Bringing support to the left adrenal.
Left adrenal.
It might feel different,
This adrenal different than the right adrenal.
That's not uncommon.
Bringing our thoughts to the left adrenal.
Left adrenal.
That's it.
Just supporting the left adrenal.
You might notice the breath moving in and out of your body at your back there where the kidneys and the adrenals are.
And for some people,
That's a pleasant,
Calming sensation.
Left adrenal.
All right,
So we're going to just gently now head all the way up to the top of your spinal cord.
And when we get to the top,
It meets the brain and that's your brainstem.
So this is the center of the autonomic nervous system.
And we're just really gently going to bring our care there,
Our thoughts there,
Supporting the brainstem.
Brainstem.
Yeah,
You might notice your jaw starting to soften.
We're just noticing some movements in the jaw.
Sometimes we can notice the throat start to open here or the stomach starting to open.
And just being curious about whatever you're noticing.
There's nothing that's supposed to happen.
And whatever's happening for you is just right for you.
Supporting the brainstem.
Yeah,
Just allowing.
We're connecting with the vagus nerve here.
Very important nerve that supports the regulation of your nervous system when it lights up.
So when you connect with it,
It's very likely that it's lighting up and going to all the organs in the body,
Supporting your organs,
Brainstem.
And just noticing what it's like bringing support to your nervous system.
It's worked so hard to support you for all these years now.
All right.
So let's really gently now just head down to our ankles,
Ankles,
Just supporting at the backs of the ankles,
Just allowing your ankles to open.
So whatever might want to move through or be ready to let go can just go right through those ankles,
Right out through the soles of your feet,
Tips of your toes.
Yeah.
There might be some things that your body's been holding on to that it doesn't really need anymore.
And maybe it's ready to let go of some of those things.
And it might just go right back to the earth where it can transform,
Supporting the ankles.
Yeah,
That's it.
Just allowing whatever's happening for you.
You might notice some energy moving up or down the spine,
Ankles,
Feet,
Tips of the toes.
All right.
So we're going to begin to work with a little bit of balancing now.
So we're going to come to the right shoulder,
Just bringing your thoughts to the right shoulder.
And now we're going to go to the left shoulder.
And now coming back to the right shoulder.
And now to the left shoulder.
And now we're going to go to the right hip,
Bringing your thoughts to the right hip.
And now we're going to go to the left hip and back to the right hip and to the left hip.
And now we're going to go to the right knee,
Bringing your thoughts to the right knee.
And now to the left knee.
And now back to the right knee,
And then to the left knee.
And now we're going to come to the right ankle,
Bringing our thoughts to the right ankle.
And now coming to the left ankle and back to the right ankle and back to the left ankle.
And now we're just going to rest together for a minute or two in a healing silence together.
And then I'll close our time together at the end of that.
So just resting,
Just letting what we did titrate into your system here.
And then just gently bringing your awareness to your eyes.
And when you feel ready,
You can go ahead and open your eyes and just take all the time that you need to transition.
