In this guided somatic healing practice, we will bring support to the heart, adrenals, kidneys, brainstem and ankles. This practice is deeply healing for developmental, attachment, and relational trauma. It helps to shift the chronic stress that is held in the nervous system in a deep and profound way. By gently supporting the adrenals and brainstem, they begin to let go of what's no longer needed. The body begins to heal and restore itself back to a state of vitality and wholeness.

So beginning to tune into your breath,

Just noticing your breath,

No need to change the breath,

Just being curious about the air coming in and the air going out.

And knowing that all your parts are welcome here,

Everything about you is welcome,

Your youngest parts of you and your adult parts,

Parts that just want to be quiet and parts that may want to let you know things.

Everything is welcome.

So we're going to begin by bringing some support to the heart,

Coming to the top of your left shoulder and the top of your right hip bone.

Left shoulder,

Right hip bone.

And perhaps just allowing the heart to open any amount that might want to happen here.

The heart is the center of your connection with yourself.

So just inviting space,

Just allowing for spaciousness to come into the heart.

Left shoulder,

Right hip bone.

And then we're really gently going to switch sides.

So we're going to come to the top of your right shoulder and the top of your left hip bone.

Still right there at the heart,

Just crossing in the other direction.

Right shoulder,

Left hip bone.

Bringing support to the heart,

The chest,

The lungs,

And even the thymus here right below the clavicle bone.

Right shoulder,

Left hip bone.

And now we're really gently going to make our way down to the right adrenal gland.

It's sitting right on top of the right kidney at your back body,

Just a little bit above the waist,

A little bit below the ribs there.

And we're just going to bring support to that right adrenal gland.

It's a little bit like a pyramid shape,

About the size of a quarter.

And we're going to bring support to that right adrenal gland.

It works so hard to keep you ready,

To keep you safe.

And the kidney underneath,

It works really hard to keep you healthy.

So just supporting the right adrenal,

Maybe allowing it to rest down on the kidney.

Or maybe allowing healing light to come in there.

Supporting the right adrenal and also supporting the right kidney underneath it.

And the liver is close by as well as the gallbladder,

And they all work together to support you.

Just allowing for spaciousness to come into the right adrenal.

Maybe allowing it to rest down just like a turtle sunbathing on a rock.

The turtle knows that that rock is right there supporting it.

And the adrenal can know that the kidney is right there underneath supporting.

And your body knows exactly what to do.

So there's really nothing that you need to do.

Just allowing for this possibility of healing and this probability of healing.

And so we're really gently,

Whenever you feel ready,

Just take your time.

We're going to head on over to the left adrenal gland,

Kind of like crossing a bridge.

And we're going to begin to bring support to the left adrenal gland,

Sitting right on top of the left kidney,

A little bit like a half moon shape.

Maybe allowing that left adrenal to rest down on the left kidney.

Or maybe allowing it to fill with healing light,

Whatever feels right for you.

And the pancreas is close by creating those digestive enzymes that go to the stomach.

And also the spleen is close by supporting your immune system.

And they all work together to support each other and to support you.

Maybe even sending a ray of gratitude to your left adrenal for how hard it works to keep you safe,

To keep you ready.

Supporting the left adrenal and supporting the left kidney underneath it.

You might be noticing a little bit more spaciousness coming into your back body there.

Or maybe you're not noticing anything at all.

And it's all good.

What we're doing is working regardless of what you notice.

Supporting the left adrenal.

All right,

So we're really gently now just going to come to the spine right between the kidneys there.

We're just going to go up the spine all the way to the very tip top of the spinal cord.

Right where it meets your brain.

And this is the brain stem.

It's right where the head sits on the body,

The atlas or the forna magnum.

And we're just going to bring support here.

This is the center of the autonomic nervous system,

The fight,

Flight and freeze.

And we're just going to bring some gentle support to the brain stem.

Maybe allowing healing light to come in.

Or maybe allowing the brain stem just to rest down.

You might notice the jaw beginning to soften a little bit here.

Or the tongue at the back of the throat beginning to soften.

Or maybe even the chest opening up a little bit,

The thymus opening up.

And again,

It's also fine if you're not noticing anything at all.

Supporting at the brain stem.

We're connecting with the vagus nerve here.

Just allowing that support and relaxation to come in to the brain stem and just begin to go down the spine,

Bringing support into all those little muscles along the spine.

Bringing in relaxation and just allowing that energy to go as far down your body as it wants to go,

As far down your spine as it wants to go.

Following the brain stem.

And then we're really gently now just going to follow that energy all the way down your body to your ankles.

Just allowing your ankles to open.

The ankles are gateways.

And then just allowing this healing energy to move right through the ankles,

Right out through the soles of the feet,

Back to source,

Back to the earth,

Transforming in the earth and bringing with it anything you're not needing,

Anything your body doesn't need or might be ready to let go of.

Bringing with it things that aren't yours,

Maybe they were never yours.

And so allowing this energy just to come down through the top of the cranium,

Through what's called the Cathedral of Healing,

Down through your corpus callosum,

Which connects the right and the left brain,

Helps them communicate down through your limbic emotional brain and your prefrontal cortex,

Down through your forehead,

Your eyes,

Your nose,

Your mouth,

Your jaw,

Your cheeks,

Your face,

Down through your throat,

Your esophagus,

Your chest,

Your lungs,

Down through your abdomen and your stomach,

Your pelvis and hips,

Down through your thighs,

Knees,

Calves,

Shins,

All the way down through those ankles and then out through the soles of the feet,

Back to the earth where the energy can transform,

Supporting at the backs of the ankles.

And just allowing for flow,

You might notice some wavy energy in the body or some warmth and tingling,

Perhaps in the lower legs or feet or arms or hands,

Just allowing your body knows exactly what to do here to heal and it wants to heal.

And so we're going to rest now in a healing silence together for about a minute.

And then when you feel ready,

You can go ahead and open your eyes.

Just take all the time that you need.
