Join me for this short practice that helps to combat the symptoms of anxiety.
This practice is called horse breath,
And it's a really great breath to regulate the nervous system,
To take some of that real fire and heat out of anxiety.
So what we're gonna do,
It's very simple,
Is you just take a deep breath into the nose,
And then you exhale through the mouth,
The teeth are apart,
But the lips are together,
So you end up breathing out,
Sounding like a horse.
Or some people might say it sounds like a purring cat.
So let's try it together,
Just take a normal breath in,
A normal breath out,
And then deep breath in,
And then breathe out through the mouth with the lips gently closed.
And let's do that for a few rounds,
Inhaling,
And exhaling.
Inhale,
Exhale,
And just continue this a few times.
And just notice how the body feels.
Notice if any parts of your body start to soften,
Start to release their grip.
Allow the breath to be smooth and soft.
Two more breaths.
One more breath.
And then again,
Just allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Notice how you feel.
